  1. what about the blood test for Endomysial Antibodies?? i THINK that will still show up even if you are Iga deficient. i am LOW on the Iga, but not a zero. i used to get EVERY gut symptom- much better now with gluten free. i also had to eliminate high fructose foods. i do better without dairy- but have trouble eliminating it. and i do much better with little...
  2. ooohhhhh "heterozygous" means ONE gene? oops, i didnt understand that. it's still a factor.. tho- ive got 2, so i know both my parents have at least 1 DQ8. im trying so hard to get them to go get tested- but they're tired of me talking about it . my dad always responds- "but i never have a stomach ache"... but that doesnt always matter- not every Celiac...
  3. that's tricky- in the past everytime i bought frozen french fries or sweet potato fries- they were coated in wheat. BUT- i am totally in love with Dr. Praeger's (sp?) frozen treats- in particular the sweet potato patties/cakes.. they are so yummmm and gluten free (of course double check all his products- but im sure the sweet potato cakes & spinach...
  4. i believe the (Company Name Removed - They Spammed This Forum and are Banned) is just for allergies or i guess you could say intolerances- but it in no way addresses the Celiac antibodies. a girl i follow on twitter- she did the (Company Name Removed - They Spammed This Forum and are Banned) because she was so miserable- and it DID show her many foods that...
  5. ive heard again and again from many- that having more than one autoimmune disease is very very common. i had a client tell me "they come in 3's"... a lot of people on here have Celiac and Hashimotos Thyroiditis and Lupus, etc. of course it DOESNT HAVE TO BE like that- but it definitely means that it's worth you getting the proper tests- as Celiac or...
  6. i had Diprivan with my colonoscopy, as opposed to the Versed i had with my wisdom teeth. The Diprivan wears off a lot quicker- i still would suggest u DONT drive of course, and DONT drink alcohol- but as long as u feel ok, and someone takes u- u probably could go. take it easy tho, and stay hydrated
  7. i've read that amaranth is good for your large intestine and ive read that dark turkey meat can have as much iron as red meat... but i totally understand the philosopy- i feel bad eating animals too- if i could be healthy as a vegetarian i would.
  8. i can get pain & bloating everywhere in my abdomen. and if bad enough- it radiates to the back muscles. i DO get pressure in my upper abdomen- but that's from a hiatal hernia (which is actually very common- something like 1 in 3 people have it). and YES- bloating gets worse during my period. but the longer i am gluten free & the more i take away some...
  9. like the above posters have said- stick with all naturally gluten free foods.. meats, fish, veggies, rice, and some good fats too- like EVOO & nut butters... everybody's different- but i find a cup of lightly cooked vegtables with butter or olive oil much easier to digest than fruit. i eat a little fruit- but if i was ONLY eating fruit- i would be...
  10. i was just at whole foods today- lookin at the prepared hot foods- and one of the dishes had "Grain Vinegar (may contain wheat)" as one of the ingredients. but i think distilled vinegar is ok? cant they just keep the gluten with the breads and baked items, and quit contaminating everything else???
  11. sorry Lucia- didn't mean to remind you that it's hard- im just always amazed- because i have such lack of self discipline i like the above suggestions- with EVOO & nut butters... the fats will help you absorb more vitamins too
  12. maybe you also need to take B12 & D supplements or injections for the fatigue... or check your thyroid? discuss this with your doc! in addition to that- i would definitely say continue on the diet- your DQ8s & TTG is convincing enough hope you conquer the fatigue in the near future
  13. OMG! i cant believe they had information in your records... but just always shook their heads... wow, you've had to come a long way figuring it out on your own- our own instincts are powerful! you said you're still having some sugar issues??? for some people- rice can still be a problem. i read once that basmati is less glycemic than the other rices...
  14. i havent experienced it- because i dont have the discipline u have! years ago (before suspecting Celiac)- i limited my diet to ONLY meats, veggies, & fats. (atkins, then bloodtype)- but i STILL ate dairy. i pretty much felt fantastic! have to admit tho- it would be almost impossible for me to do what you're doing, tho im sure i would feel great...
  15. Rita- i would also suggest you obtain a paper copy of your Celiac blood test for your own use. every doctor orders different tests for Celiac- and sometimes they're incomplete. OR they don't read them right, OR they're borderline numbers that still could be suspect. so, in addition to finding a good GI & Derm- def. start with having your own copy of...
  16. okay- i was at the store the other day- and this is the brand i love- Open Original Shared Link
  17. question- so does Barley Grass & Wheat Grass contain Gluten???? im so confused... my first thought would be to avoid them BUT i used to buy this green drink powder (KYOGREEN)- had Chorella, kelp, barley grass, wheat grass... and the bottle specifically said "Gluten Free" ????? i'd really like to know the answer to this confusion for sure- cause i...
  18. i havent been to catholic mass for years now- but, i always thought our catholic wafers were rice???
  19. i went to an alternative doc before getting tested for celiac- and he diagnosed me with Hypochlorhydria (low stomach acid). he prescribed the Betaine HCI & Pancreatic/Digestive Enzymes to take with meals- and he specifically told me to expect all kinds of NEW sounds & gurgles as my whole digestive tract would be activated and learning how to digest...
  20. i was thinking Anemia too- which is very common with Celiac. i really hope you're getting to a doc REAL SOON- please get in soon- and keep us posted.
  21. UNBELIEVABLE- i prolly would have been a real sarcastic B***H if that was my neurologist- what the HEY????? ALL your numbers are CLEARLY positive!!!!! get your biopsy ASAP- and then go Gluten Free- it's time for you to be on your journey to perfect healing- JUST RIDICULOUS- i just cant believe the ignorance- people just dont know anything about...
  22. oops, ignore this, dont know how to delete
  23. my aunt just got diagnosed with Crohns. problem is- i dont think her doc EVEN considered testing for Celiac. ya, let's just go ahead and diagnose with illnesses that require pharmaceuticals. im trying to get her to test for Celiac- but i havent heard back ??? sounds to me like your baby DEFINITELY has a problem with gluten- you should get her to a GI...
  24. mmmmm those jimmy dean skillets sound good add some grilled tomatoes & mushrooms- and it could be like a early morning English Fry
  25. there's more tests to be taken for a more complete Celiac panel... Ttg Iga & Igg is only a small piece to the puzzle- Ttg can also be associated with other diseases (*other members on here can tell you more about that) your GI should have also tested for: Antigliadin Iga & Igg total serum Iga Endomysial Antibodies if you're not too...
