What else did you eat yesterday? Food, drink, supplements, meds... -
ARCHIVED Did I Get Glutened?
ang1e0251 replied to Desy's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I wondered if you are reacting to dairy. I cannot have fresh dairy products like yogurt. When I'm really sensitive, even the milk in milk chocolate can get me. I haven't reacted to that in awhile but in the early stages of the gluten-free diet, like you, I did. -
ARCHIVED Negative Blood Test And Biopsy
ang1e0251 replied to glutengal's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I am self dx'd. Most all my problems and symptoms have cleared up on the gluten-free diet. I don't know if I had gastritis but my dr said I had GERD. The only time I have any discomfirt now is if I eat too many alternate grains. I feel the best grain free. I eat only a little now. If your still having problems, you may have another sensitivity... -
ARCHIVED Breastfeeding And Celiac Babies?
ang1e0251 replied to ruhbehka's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I did not have this problem but I have read other posters telling how their BF babies reacted to both gluten and dairy that the mother ingested. I hope they will write in personally to you so you can get their direct stories. It certainly is worth a try. Can't hurt, might help, as the saying goes. Keep a food journal when you do it to show your ped how... -
Sorry you're feeling bad. That is no fun. You probably had CC from the grill and the utensils. The utensils touch the buns then your brat and whammie! If the grill wasn't washed clean of the beer brats, whammie! Sorry, I went to a family reunion yesterday where there was very little I could eat. But I ate what I could and had a Lara bar with me and had...

My DH eats gluten and I share his dishes. He also does all the dishwashing. If you're still getting sick, then look for CC.

ARCHIVED Explaining Celiac To Friends/coworkers
ang1e0251 replied to Jennifer2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I guess I would just say, "Yeah, it really sucks but my body attacks even minute particles just like I'd eaten a big ol' loaf of bread! Then it's like Space Invaders (showing my age) in there and I'm sick as a dog for days." -
ARCHIVED Eating Gluten When Stressed
ang1e0251 replied to JesikaBeth's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I think you know you need to change your priorities. Your health and healthy eating has to come first. I know, it's very hard to do that. We feel it's too selfish and other's who are "sicker" than us should be first. No one will put you first but you. This isn't an either or proposition. What I mean is, someone isn't going to be hurt or die because you... -
ARCHIVED Think Its Finally Getting Thru To Mom
ang1e0251 replied to jasonD2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Jason, want to have a talk with my sister? -
ARCHIVED Glutened With Mcd's Fries And A Burger Pattie
ang1e0251 replied to txplowgirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
My husband used to get them a lot. He's not gluten sensitive. A coworker told me she took lysine to cope with the pain and help them heal faster. It really works. -
ARCHIVED Can An Overweight Person Have Celiac Disease?
ang1e0251 replied to lharper's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I believe the percentage of overweight persons with celiac disease is 34% of total persons with celiac disease. I am one. I am self diagnosed and when I finally was able to see my dr, he gave me that look. You know the one, you are not skinny, I doubt you have celiac disease. It's likely you could have it. Your child inherited it from someone. -
ARCHIVED Starting School Soon
ang1e0251 replied to mygfworld's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I would probably add that if your child needs to use the bathroom, he may have D so please allow him free access to the facilities. -
ARCHIVED Distressed About What To Do
ang1e0251 replied to Mom of a Celiac toddler's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
It is correct that your son must continue to eat gluten for his test to be accurate. Can you be scheduled with one the other GI's? It needs to be a pediatric GI and there aren't many of those. If another will see you sooner or has a cancellation, maybe that would be the answer. -
ARCHIVED Do You Become More Or Less Sensitive To Gluten Over Time?
ang1e0251 replied to NYCCeliacMom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I can only speak for myself. My reactions are worse as time goes on. I react to smaller amounts of gluten that I might not have noticed in the first couple of months gluten-free. -
ARCHIVED Glutened With Mcd's Fries And A Burger Pattie
ang1e0251 replied to txplowgirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have been eating McDonald's double cheeseburgers with no bun several times in the last 3 months. Each time it was a different McDonald's as we were out and about. Had a great experience except once, and when was that? The time I stupidly ordered fries. I knew better, knew they had gluten just gave in to temption. I was lucky, my reaction was mild but... -
I was using corn tortillas also and they're good. Now, I'm eating less grains overall so I just take lunchmeat and spread it with cream cheese then wrap it up. Roll ups are yummy!

ARCHIVED Chinese Medicine And Other Alternatives
ang1e0251 replied to Sulevismom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I used accupuncture a few years back for a sore shoulder after a car accident. It gave me temporary relief. I assumed this shoulder just had arthritis and kept going. Guess what? After I went gluten-free, no more shoulder pain. -
ARCHIVED This Normal For Gluten Intolerance?
ang1e0251 replied to loxleynew's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Was your blood test a celiac panel? Can you post the results here? You said you did not have the genetic markers for celiac disease. CAn you also post those results here? The medical community recognizes different genetic markers in different parts of the world. It might help your confusion if you post your results here for a "second opinion". ... -
ARCHIVED Left Side "discomfort"?
ang1e0251 replied to TiffLuvsBread's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I guess I'm weird because I get it on my right side. It is gluten related but any grain can kick it up, usually a mild reaction if it's not gluten. BCD, I complained of this to my dr, usually I kept most of my symptoms to myself as I seemed to get nowhere, he sent me immediately for a chest x-ray. I have a very pretty set of lungs! It's where I used to... -
ARCHIVED Confused - False Positive
ang1e0251 replied to ccooper's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Could you please put the lab's ranges with those numbers? Each lab is different. Many, many people have false negatives but I have never heard of someone who actually had a false positive. -
ARCHIVED Gluten-free Pet Food -- Really Necessary?
ang1e0251 replied to OliveBranch's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I do not use gluten-free pet food. But you can bet if I start reacting to something and can't pin it down, I will switch my pet's food. And by the way, since I started feeding my dogs their breakfast with corn tortillas instead of wheat bread, my lab's continuous ear problems (his whole life) have cleared up. This is a first and we're not going back! -
ARCHIVED Unholy Triad Of Misery
ang1e0251 replied to PattyBoots's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
My mom and my sister were having recurring UTI's but have stopped getting them by taking daily doses of Vit. C. This shocked me because this is the first time I can ever remember my sister actually taking a natural product and saying it worked! -
ARCHIVED And The Misinformation Begins....
ang1e0251 replied to Lawspike's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Puddy, Are these coworkers the same kind of people who make a scene about second hand smoke? They can't see if there is lung damage so why do they have to be so careful? Aren't they being just tad paranoid? -
You will probably have trouble unless he brushes well and rinses well before kissing. If his teeth are tight and trap food, he should floss too. Sorry, but we have to consider everything.

ARCHIVED Time For Exhaustion To Go Away
ang1e0251 replied to Knoppie's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I didn't see a dr to take sublingual B12 (methyl type). You can't overdose on it, extra just flushes out of your system. I tried it and I feel so much better. If I skip, forget, a couple of days, I'm draggin' my tail again.
