  1. Pamela's gluten-free Cereal (can't remember the brand because I only bought it once and then stopped) Lays Ruffles Another mix - big brown bag (can't remember because I quit buying it right away because got so sick)
  2. Watch out for all veggie oils, soy, no more fast food (if you even did that), soy. And, I found out that I cannot have any commercial broth - I suspect soy but could be something else. Many gluten-free mixes have soy instead, etc. Soy is worse than gluten to avoid. Glad it is working and you found out what the problem was!
  3. There is another allergy nasal spray that you don't have to take every day like you do with some others but I can't remember the name. It worked really well for my son (12). I would call her allergist or regular doc, whichever one prescribed it, and have them change it. My son was one one from his pediatrition but his allergist changed it to nasaqort which...
  4. I think - it has been over 15 years - but I think I only wore it at night and while I was resting and not talking, chewing, etc. to teach my mouth the correct position and to stop the headaches. What you might want to try in the day because the real mouth gards don't allow you to talk (or at least mine didn't), get a sports mouth guard for during the...
  5. I went gluten-free before talking to a doc, felt so much better by the time I did talk to the docs, I refused to go back on a gluten diet for a positive dx. I wasn't sure I liked it at first, now I don't care. I feel better and that is the important thing.
  6. I react to all yeasts - however, I avoid Pamela's stuff because every time I have tried their brownies (DF, SF, gluten-free, etc.) I kept getting sick. I think that was the only thing on her line that I could even try.
  7. I'm in too!!!!
  8. I would LOVE your/his recipe for kielbasa. My fathers side is Polish and every time we went to visit, we would go to the local market and buy kielbasa (and my aunt would make perogies - sp? when we would visit her). It was such a treat and I really miss it...the last time I went back, my grandmother just went to the grocery store and bought a package...
  9. My number one thing is from Richard: I now use BBQ salt, that I found and modified, for everything - his suggestion for my missing real BBQ. Made grilling fun again. But along with that is all the support!
  10. I think my recipe calls for rubbed sage but otherwise looks about the same but I haven't made it in a while.
  11. I just noticed that I am having a problem with some manufactured citric acid and not others--like my passover mayo with citric acid instead of vinegar doesn't bother me but the citric acid in some of my olives (jars) is now bothering me. There is citric acid in my capers but haven't noticed a problem with those either. Must be the ones derived from corn...
  12. I always used to have cheeseless quesidias (sp?) with guacamole instead. I just recieved my latest chebe order with their new plain bread (DF/gluten-free) that I am going to make into tortiallas - I think I just figured out my lunch tomorrow!
  13. Linda - about adding Duke's pic: I snapped a pic with my phone the other day (I have actually taken about 5 pictures with my camera phone since I got it a year ago) and sent it to my e-mail address. I was able to crop the image to just Duke (who is 130 pounds but really doesn't look that big in the picture) and saved it locally. Then added my pic to my...
  14. My husband has now become hooked on glass and he uses it for his mosiacs instead of tile! We have a huge selection and every time it's on sale, we buy more - they are pretty. I have two pieces my boys made in my office - one is a wizzard and the other is a sword - both for school projects since I have all the equipment.
  15. I have problems from time to time BUT because I have eaten something that didn't agree with me. Like I discovered that anything commercially made that has vanilla in it gives me gas. I can use my own homemade with potato vodka vanilla OK but I am guessing that commercially made and used vanilla uses a grain or corn base which I can't have at all--due to yeast...
  16. I used to have the best nails in the world - they grew long, never broke or split, never peeled--people would ask if they were fake because they were so nice. For over 5 years now, they are, well, short, split, flaking, breaking, etc. My nails even separate from my fingers about 3-5 times a year now. In short, they suck - but my toes are ALWAYS painted.
  17. I know someone who had the surgery - she lost a bunch of weight. However, she didn't change her lifestyle - didn't add exercise in, didn't adjust her activity level (no food issues), doesn't have any health issues to prevent activity, and now, 2 years later, is putting the weight BACK ON. My sister-in-law, who had health issues to start with, had it done...
  18. Homemade chicken soup - when my hubby rolls out the noodles for me. My pizza, with my toppings, that I make for myself (if hubby will mix the dough for me to try to save my wrists and shoulder), with all my favorite toppings.
  19. We aren't into 4-H - they have an open class for all non-4-H people and that is where we submit and gift wrapping is still part of the fair. I almost submitted something last year for it but decided to stick to my regulars... They also have canning as an area but I figured my first time in about 12 years is not the best to submit. I don't know what...
  20. My 15 YO son is currently making a stained glass lamp - at school - so I haven't seen it yet but he said I can't have it and he has given me everything else to-date. Next year he is taking drawing and ceramics in addition to his landscape architecture class. Both boys like to cook and will be helping me can this summer as well as tend the garden. My...
  21. Upside Down Planters We took regular, large (large enough to hold a full grown tomato plant) plastic planting pots from K-mart for $3.50 which I had bought a few years earlier, used a hole saw on the drill and drilled a hole about an inch in diamater through the bottom. One we even used an old bucket and put in some drainage holes part way up so there will...
  22. The Enjoy Life products you shouldn't have to worry about CC. I buy mine at a local specialty store - not really a health food store but has a lot of health food products. I can't remember if you can order the chips online or not.
  23. Good to know - I had not thought of that. I also use pliable paste, then wax, then hairspray (I have very fine hair and it takes that to make it work). I will have to check those too...thanks. I have already checked all makeup so that is safe, now to beauty!!!!
  24. I personally don't worry about my shampoo because it isn't dripping into my mouth and I wash my hands after - however, I do watch for it in my lotions because I put my fingers in my mouth to "occasionnaly" trim my nails if I am away from clippers or file and the skin around my nails gets hard and I tend to bite those off - I know, gross but true. However...
  25. I used to do that for years - I would sometimes run a fever, high and low, for weeks. One time, I got tired of it and went to the doc, they couldn't figure it out, spent days in the hospital and only released me because the fever finally went away on its own. I now know, I run a fever when I have anything with yeast. Wine makes me run a fever because of...
