Open Original Shared Link Most moments I choose to be happy...spent too much time sick to sweat the small stuff ... hell I don't really sweat the big stuff any more as long as I've got my family and friends that remind me what's important and make me laugh...all is good : )

ARCHIVED Daughter's Labs Back
GottaSki replied to SMRI's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I agree with Cara and Gemini. Three to six months completely gluten free to monitor symptom improvement/resolution is your next best step now that testing is complete. My kids were seronegative except for the oldest had a single positive DGP at age 25. Two of three have been diagnosed with Celiac Disease, the third is gluten-free without official Dx... -

The blood tests are not perfect, especially when you were gluten light. I am not saying you have celiac disease, only that it remains a very real possibility. -

Hi Cheryl! If you have been mostly wheat free you likely have been mostly gluten free which would make the celiac antibody tests inaccurate and could also make the damage in your intestine harder to find unless you had multiple biopsies. Beyond frustrating, but I suggest you remove absolutely all gluten for at least 3 months - 6 is better to monitor... -
Eggs do not have gluten. If they are farm fresh they do need to be washed well. If someone has issue with eggs, I would argue that they are having issue with either the white, the yolk or both. Eggs have high lectin and histamine content which can cause bloating or other symptoms that could make someone with celiac disease erroneously think they had...

She has a positive DQ2 which means there is a possibility of celiac disease. Hayley...how long ago did you test negative? Was a complete celiac antibody panel done...including total serum IgA? Have you been tested for nutrient deficiencies? Have you removed gluten for any amount of time? Do you have the pathology and procedural reports from the endoscopy... -

Hey Laura....I'm good with stabbing too! Sounds like a good idea to find an alternative to running it through the digestive tract. My daughter with Lupus has always had trouble with it ... Abdominal issues and more. So KFG is fast becoming Lisa's second favorite gadget! Crock pot Lasagna was awesome...was better than any other labor intensive... -

I. Get. This! Could have written the same thing at month seven....when I removed gluten my digestive system improved at first, but all my autoimmune and inflammation type symptoms got worse....oh so frustrating. My best advice would be try removing histamines for one week...if you don't notice any improvement (don't expect miracles...just note less bloating... -

Six months feels like a very long time, but in reality it can take longer to heal. Have you had your celiac antibodies run again? Checked all supplements, medication, etc for gluten? Are you living in a shared kitchen? If all these things have been addressed it is time to look to other intolerance. In my opinion if you are having allergic type reactions...
