  1. I find this thread interesting...with each pregnancy - long before I was dx'd I could only keep "oatzels" down -- they don't sell them anymore to my knowledge. Our family likes glutino pretzels very much, but have heard many times Snyder's are the best.
  2. Rudolf is on TV -- don't care what my Men say...it is not the same when "we" watch from a tape/dvd
  3. Have no idea...did use on occasional evenings in my youth when we knew we "might" drink to much. I can tell you there is no "easy button" or "magic wand" when planning accidental gluten or dairy consumption. Do your homework and you to can travel safe.
  4. I APPLAUD YOU!!! IH on your way to kick up your heals with the Rockettes! Ok...is it just me or is this dude kinda obnoxious - he made me a bit like this dude
  5. Nine years...you beat my record...I collect everyone in the family's cast offs and make my kids build their own -- before I get shipped off to the "bad mom island" they do have three year old netbooks for school use.
  6. Hi Jacki-- This is actually very good news. The truth is gluten can cause very serious symptoms and health consequences even when it is "just" Non-Celiac Gluten Intolerance. Remove ALL gluten for at least three months -- I generally insert (six is better here) -- in your case I think six months to a year may be essential. Nonspecific symptoms that...
  7. This is great news...most especially is your GI's analysis -- this is not common, but it should be. Caution -- Non-Celiac Gluten Intolerance can be just as severe in the areas of cross-contamination. Your husband will likely know if he is sensitive to minute amounts of gluten after a solid 3-6 months gluten-free. Congratulations on the good news....
  8. Oh good start...sorry yours were a bit different then mine. Yes...definitely took much more flour to roll these than the pre-gluten-free version. It's been a year so I forgot...I found that I used a really small portion at a time leaving several small balls in the frig -- I only baked one sheet at a time in the oven -- not both racks. If you still...
  9. I finally learned how to MultiQuote Dave is the only non-celiac in the house hence he eats mostly gluten-free and has seen health benefits over the past three years. He has increased his bicycle riding to hundreds of miles per month -- before my diagnosis he was fit but packing a lot of unexplained weight -- sound familiar? Yay...
  10. Welcome Ben! You certainly could have Celiac Disease or Non-Celiac Gluten Intolerance. It is VERY important to have your doctor order a full celiac blood panel BEFORE you remove gluten from your diet. The antibodies measured in these tests are produced in reaction to gluten ingestion. Also a good idea to be tested for nutritional deficincies - celiac...
  11. Yep...there are issues with spellcheck and Firefox. If you clear your cache it may help. Switching to Google Chrome is a better solution.
  12. Welcome Hannah! You've already got some great suggestions - YES it will get better given time. Time gluten-free is often the most important factor. Your body needs time to heal all the damage caused in your small intestine - your body will work hard to accomplish this and may leave you tired - especially in the early days. Because you mention you...
  13. Hi Scott- I had tried clicking on the link you provided above earlier today and just now again...here is the error message I got using a Kindle Fire <p> Sorry, we couldn't find that! [#404] Sorry, we could not locate the page you are requesting to view. Please click here to return to the community index Need Help? Our help documentation...
  14. It would be difficult to find a deli capable of producing food that is not cross contaminated. At 5 weeks you could be becoming more sensitive to the smaller amounts of gluten associated with CC. Take a careful assessment of your diet to remove any possible remaining gluten. Hang in there - I remember well the frustration that came along with...
  15. Ok...if any other kindle users stumble across this thread... When using the kindle fire's "web" browser feature with celiac.com once you enter a post you are switched to mobile mode automatically and the "Full Version" toggle button is then revealed. I will check if there is a url or other method to get to mobile mode without posting.
  16. Is there a URL associated with the mobile version? Thanks
  17. Isn't that amazing - my nonceliac hubby is mostly gluten-free as our house is - as his time mostly gluten-free has increased his minor pains and weight issues are vanishing - he seems to be getting younger rather than older
  18. Technology lessons suck - I am thankful one of my sons has the tech gift like me so I've been able to pawn some of my folks electronic house calls to him - its a win win - when he goes they give him $20 and I am far less frustrated - when I go I get stuck there and never receive a tip
  19. LOL my son said the same thing - cookies or bacon no chocolate but he'd be attracted to a choc scented gal too
  20. I'm using th cp too - I imagine some big when they arrive home from work and school tonight to a bacon scented kitchen - no b%$@#ing about my apple/cinnamon candles today
  21. Ps He is currently drinking nettle tea each day to see if it helps with his sinus inflammation - it seems to be helping - he has regained some sense of smell and his cough seems to be slightly improved - no promises, but it might be worth a try.
  22. Understand completely - the son I mention has been coughing consistently in the morning for over 10 years - it is far better gluten-free, but sadly remains unresolved. He has tried removing other foods and likely will give an elimination diet another shot - he's just not ready right now.
  23. Triple batch sounds like a splendid idea - throw a ribbon on top and it becomes a great gift for all my bacon lovers - haven't even made it and I already know we'll need separate jars for each of my men or arguments will ensue. Thanks L2T!
