  2. Great to hear...I had a similar rush to ER just after the New Year flip...only idea after a day of a very new scary pain was connective tissue in the chest -- great. At least it was a false alarm....yet another mystery
  3. ummmm....thought...are you ok? not to make light, but your dinner still sounds wonderful even on the off day
  4. It glicked here 2day -- that's San Diegan speek for a hint of moisture falling from the sky that sends idiot drivers sliding to and fro on the freeway
  5. Welcome ShadowSeek- Your tTG IgA is a clear positive - a very strong indicator of Celiac Disease. I would suggest you request the rest of the panel to be run and then decide if endoscopy is appropriate with your doctor. Total Serum IgA Endomysial IgA Deamidated Gliadin Peptide - IgA and IgG My gut always goes with a strong positive...
  6. How the heck am I supposed to spell snow?
  7. ThAnKs Now if we can just get them to devise a test to gauge our reaction to gluten in a petri dish rather than by challenge or measuring antibodies in our blood I'd be a very happy camper Oh wait...a bit of a magic wand waving in the general autoimmune realm would be appreciated too Oh and maybe doctors could get more than 6 minutes of...

  9. steak with vegie stir fry pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting for my men I lied never made a dessert for me - might have fried apple crumble for breakfast
  10. Yes - great idea Mw! Can we wait for VeggieGal to respond before we continue on the advanced testing techniques?
  11. Grain and legume free is based on removing foods with high lectin. Dairy, Nuts & Seeds can all have similar effect on the healing gut. Julian also makes bread with coconut flour or almond flour - but I'd suggest making a muffin type bread with coconut flour or almond flour if you can tolerate them soon. Remember - removing all these foods is...
  12. One more thought VeggieGal- While I do think you can remove gluten now - if you decide to remain on gluten for an endoscpy - there is no need to overdo it. A slice of glutenous bread is sufficient - some have found it a bit easier to ingest it in the evening to avoid some of the symptoms - this won't prevent symptoms - just may help a bit.
  13. Welcome veggiegal! I'm with Tom in this scenario. There is no reason to keep ingesting gluten once your blood is positive - just make sure you've had a complete celiac antibody panel than remove ALL gluten. I would highly suggest the endoscopy though - there is much information to be learned from the procedure and this info may become important...
  14. Low D and hives on my stomach that spread to my arms and feet were what finally helped get me diagnosed. I never had the rash biopsied - when I removed gluten it never came back. Take pictures of skin issues and any drastic bloating - these were very helpful during my diagnosis. Again - welcome - glad you have joined us
  15. Great idea - need to pick up Advent candy today - am going to look for some bells for the bottom of our tree! Thanks Mw
  16. I find the chart interesting, but take it a slightly different way. Many of us have symptoms that are not "classic" celiac symptoms until the damage is quite severe. For me the really severe abdominal bloat came only a couple years before my diagnosis although I had a multitude of other symptoms my entire life - most I thought were just a bit of this...
  17. Hey wanna see something cool - well if you are interested in medical advances -- a friend of mine is working on this "tumor paint" molecule to help neurosurgeons find their way around the brain - if you have about three minutes check it out and vote the video up as it is some sort of chance of running for Sundance -- oh there are a couple gooey shots ...
  18. This is great news -- glad you both have the opportunity to heal together! gluten-free treats are important during the transitions for kids -- both young and old Let us know if you'd like to replicate something -- there are a lot of members that can help. Congratulations on the great start
  19. Welcome to the holidays according to kitty....our first Christmas with Shelby she removed all the ornaments from the bottom quarter of the tree and would pop out from hiding behind branches of the tree to swat at us if we tried to rehang them -- my toddlers (now teens) never created such mischief
  20. I know how frustrating this is. My kids all test negative and I was barely positive with total villi atrophy. I think it is a very good decision to remove gluten - but I do worry that you have not had a Total IgA and Deamidated Gliadin Peptide IgA or IgG. If you improve when you remove gluten you may have lingering questions and it is often difficult...

  22. Yep...bacon was my very last processed item -- counting the days until I start trialing foods again -- bacon first, eggs second -- or maybe bacon first, bacon second and bacon third? OHHHHH....fried apples with vanilla ice cream ts
