  1. Scott's screen name is "admin".
  2. Bummer Shroomie - glad you are back home - hope you continue to improve expeditiously - I love that word - feel better!!!
  3. No email here - checked inbox & spam. Oh I'm not on the list above either - that's prolly why I didn't get marching orders?
  4. Oh LJ - So sorry to hear of the loss of your pal --I am still not over the sudden death of my 12 year old timberwolf shepard named Mikuyi -- she died 20 years ago but was my first "babydog". Huge hugs to you! Also glad you are giving the chem testing a pass over the holidays - I think fp is right on this one - given time you will figure a lot more out...
  5. Maybe I wasnt clear in my last post - if you do not HAVE to be grain free - I do not recommend Paleo Bread. I have been grain free for over a year so the coconut and almond breads taste a bit better from my prospective. If I could eat canyon bakehouse or udi's or schar I would never purchase paleo bread.
  6. At least you had a nice day trip with your bride
  7. Perhaps we are haggling over words, but the words we choose to use on this forum are important as there are many newly diagnosed individuals who read "cure" which leads to more confusion during an often very confusing transition. In my opinion: "Cured" would mean someone with Celiac Disease would both heal and be able to safely ingest gluten for life...
  8. I wouldn't worry about the dating years - my son went gluten-free at 15 and it gave a shy young man a topic of conversation that is quite popular with teen girls - for good or bad gluten-free is popular - so being well versed in why these girls often feel better when they remove gluten is great knowledge for teen boys!
  9. I know they correspond to a deficiency, but can't remember which nutrient. What I can tell you is I had them my entire life - until I'd been gluten-free for about six months and have not had any since.
  10. Yep...no cure and many different dietary changes and combos of supplementation can produce results for many -- the key with all is removing all gluten first, then make any other changes needed to help the damaged small intestine heal and stay healed!
  11. Well said Patti. If there is one certainty in Celiac Disease it is that we all present, test and respond to a the removal of gluten differently. Hang in there Sarah - if you haven't had a full celiac panel done - have your doctor order now. Meg was right - possitive blood work can help answer your questions. Should all tests be negative - still remove...
  12. Good to hear your heart has settled - scary stuff. Tummy may have ups and downs for a while. Hang in there
  13. Does that mean I oweOOOOHHHH my hubby cake 'n bacon for inventing bacon topped cake
  14. My men had breakfast for dinner - scrambled eggs and waffles topped with........yep RBJ! I had chicken, broccoli slaw, onion, garlic quick fry with carrot/garlic sauce.
  15. It is wise to have both allergy blood and skin scratch tests if you are experiencing allergy symptoms - these symptoms can worsen at any time to become quite serious. That said, intolerances can lead to allergic-like reactions as well. Here is a breakdown I wrote a while back trying to explain the difference between Allergy, Celiac and NCGI: Gluten Allergy...
  16. I do not spend three hours a day cooking...I do keep the items I mentioned on hand which takes a half hour to an hour here and there, but I throw my meals together in the frying pan with a little coconut oil in less than 5 mins as I often have to make a separate meal from what we make as a family.
  17. Bacon makes everything better - right? Happy Belated to YOU!!!
  18. So no recipes - do you have minimal cooking skills? A lot of my food is very quick to prepare, but using the kitchen is essential. We cook everything - some things simple, some more complex == but we make everything that goes in my mouth due to a ridiculous amount of intolerances. Here are my staples that are always in the frig ready to throw in a frying...
  19. Been there...done that and much more. When you goof...come here...we get it
  20. There are no dumb questions here. What I can tell you is the reaction to each gluten exposure can have a slightly different reaction. In our early days - my kids and I experienced all quite different reactions -- they seem to be more consistent now or we just are more in tune to what is a gluten reaction and to some other various reactions. Barley...
  21. Awesome and you should most definitely be "knighted"!
  22. Simmer chicken or turkey with salt and onion for a couple hours - longer is fine. I usually use the carcass of a roasted bird leftover from previos nights dinner, but you can start with fresh meat too. Make in the largest pot you've got or two! Keeps for a few days in frig and freezes well
  23. Hi skittles! I coulld have written your post myself too many times to count. Here's what I can tell you...it will get better. Once you figure out a safe diet and start to feel a bit better it all becomes much easier to deal with. Never easy, but much much easier. One thing that has helped me with my most recentt improvements was to remove...
