  1. RUSHY, Welcome.......Have you done any testing yet? In two weeks we are going to Salamanca for a few days & will be passing Bradford!!!! I'm a mentor if you want any help. I'm about three hours from Bradford!!! blessings mamaw
  2. Isn't this harrassment? Do you work with adults? They sound like third graders... People can be very rude to put it mildly... I certainly would go to the highest manangement available & explain your eating habits & why do must do this lifestyle. Maybe just maybe they don't understand what health issues can happen if you eat gluten... Then again...
  3. Hello I did start a gluten-free ministry over three years ago. I sent you a pm with details.......if you can't retrieve it let me know..... blessings mamaw
  4. Try speaking with the college food service director. Many schools now have alternative menus for people with food allergies. They need to be aware of your food issues to be able to better help you....for some things it may be only leaving out or off 1 ingredient to make it safe for you..... another thought would be buying your own gluten-free foods...

  6. For us I cook as the directions state but not a hard boil. The reason I asked if they were old is I found a bag buried deep in my freezer for over a year.. When I cooked them the edges were hard but the rest was fine. We are having ravioli from Conte's tonight for supper....maybe try them one more time..... I will tell you there is a better ravioli out...
  7. wow, that is a first about Conte's ! Most people love Conte's....... sorry about your experience. were they maybe old???? mamaw
  8. A food journal is wonderful.... but I think you need to rid your house of everything with wheat & gluten & replace it with gluten-free. If its not in the house then you can't eat it. Feeling crappy after eating gluten sometimes is enough to make someone stop but for others its a hard battle....so maybe rid the house of gluten.... a local food bank...
  9. I think if a parent is willing to learn then by all means teach them.......but again I think to make it easier it is best to send food. That way no one is stressed out over gluten-free.... Your daughter is 11 , she should know how to read labels & refuse foods that are not safe for her....For a camping trip I would send gluten-free mac& cheese...

Bagels, english Muffins --Joans gluten-free great bakes Udi's bread ( Denver area) Conte's pasta Bi_Aglut spaghetti, lasagne, & mnay more...
  11. The granchildren go for stay overs often. One thing is that when other families are not gluten-free there is a big chance of CC. To make things easier for the other parents & keep our kid fairly safe we prepare the food & send it along. Some people understand the gluten-free lifestyle now after years of having our kids over they now can cook gluten...
  12. Ken.. I did know that there was no pain but they thought they wanted to knock me out for some reason. I agreed with the versaid but not anything else... I've watched twice the wires go through my groin & up to the heart. Wow, it is amazing , no pain what so ever so I'm still not sure why they wanted to knock me out! I do believe the next time I...
  13. Hi Ken I guess I didn't read this post before now! I'm glad you are doing well after the ablation. They wanted to do this to me in Oct 09 because of A-Fib that was way out of control... But my problem is I'm allergic to the deep sleep meds! I can only do versaid which is the twilight drug & I just didn't think it would cut-it for heart surgery. They...
  14. I hear the mark up on gluten-free foods is over ,well over 200%. To me that is sad but nothing we can do about it. More companies come on board everyday but that has not stopped the pricing game! One would think competition would bring prices down but it hasn't &I don't believe after this amount of time it will. There is money to be made in the gluten...
  15. I Agree with you the price of gluten-free goodies is awful. If one can do just meat, veggies, & fruits then its not expensive but for us we want the best of the best & a wide variety. I just can't wrap my head or mouth around a muffin becoming a hamburger bun, next time it becomes garlic bread & so on.. Several years ago when other than...
  16. Hello & Welcome. What a treat--- biospy for your 60th! Happy Birthday ... I'm a couple years older than you!!!! You have the right idea-- this too will pass& then you will find good health ... It is always interesting when we finally find out what has been ailing us for so many years. Remember ailments you have, have been going on for years with...
  17. The Bready Machine: While I think this is a nifty gadget, one thing I don't care for is you will be held hostage to buying only their mixes. You can not use this with other mixes or make your own bread. Also the cost of the mixes could go sky high in price, no one knows. I'm a gadget person but for that much money I would think twice. I suggest a good bread...
  18. Hello & welcome You are on the right path----- plain naked foods , plain meats no sauces, coatings ,marinades-- add your own McCormick spices! They clearly label. fresh fruits & veggies. Stay away from wheat ,rye, barley & oats ....anything that contains malt .Soy sauce is another to watch out for. Lachoy is gluten-free ..... products like...

  22. I'm moving to the eastern part of the state! I was on cytomel for about ten months & never felt so well in my whole life. The I went into a thyroid storm & they would not give it to me again. I now have no thyroid function as I had no choice but to swallow the ra . I was in intensive care for two weeks - almost didn't make it. Now I go into A-Fib...
  23. Hello Here's a couple of things to mill around. First, 1 month being gluten-free does not give your body time enough to heal. For some feeling better comes sooner than others. Then for others three or four years isn't enough time. We are unique in that we all or most share celiac but that is about as far as it goes. We all don't heal the same, we all can...
  24. I just got back on & see where I made a big typo. I apologized for the bad mistake. Remember we all are human & crap happens. blessings mamaw
  25. oops! i'm so sorry --- it was a big NO CROUTONS. Sometimes my brain works apart from my fingers... bad typo error..... blessings mamaw
