  2. Hi & welcome Your red itchy skin may be coming from other things besides celiac. It seems you may be expericing an allergic reaction to something that may be other than gluten. I too can not have MSG, or any artifical sweetners ( which can be in just about anything these day) gum for sure. Many cannot use corn sweetner, soy is another . Diet soda?...
  3. Yep, I see it most men do not want to be responsible for their celiac disease& at times anything else! I believe he is typical..... It appears to be harder for men to adapt that they have health issues....   4. Hello You stated you had an endo done but if that was done after you were gluten-free for a few weeks then the test would not be a true test. You must be comsuming gluten for several weeks or longer to get an accurate result. Also it can take years for some to totally heal the years of abuse put on their intestinal tract, some get relief sooner than others...
  5. Katz has been around for a while & their gluten-free products are very very good. I love the choc.dipped cookies & their multi grain bread toasted for breakfast. Katz ( Joseph) is expanding his area so they will be popping up in many areas this year coming! hth mamaw
  6. tigercat most sauerkraut is just cabbage & salt feremented for a month or longer....I have never seen Del Monte but look on the pkg ingredients. some brands may put a preservatative in it. We make our own & it is the very best...& your right if you are going to eat bought sauerkraut the bagged is much better. Many small mom & pop deli...
  7. I agree he may have to try & learn to enjoy more healthy foods..... I also will say I'm not sure where you are finding all the gluten-free foods in the strip without cross contact ( prepared by or cooked with wheat items). I know there are a few places but not that many I would trust... lunch ideas: any leftovers from home , he will eat! chicken...

Take one step at a time, don't try to learn everything in a week, month or a year. I've been at this for many years & find updated info daily so one never should stop investigating...

    I just went to the site at Denny's that Liz posted. I do see the allergy list for wheat but not gluten. Please be careful because just because its wheat free does not make the item gluten free....
  15. yes, we all have heard that wheat & barley grass are gluten-free due to the stabiling process. But being an old timer celiac I would not use either of these two products.....I have switched my products to ones that do not contain these grasses. hth

  18. Hello & Welcome at the beginning it is better to stay with plain (naked) meats, fish, veggies, & fruits. Meaning no marinades, sauces, rubs, or coatings.   19. okay, I may have misread your message--- I thought they were now baking! Don't worry about your baking if you don't get success the first time just try again. There is a slight learning curve but muffins, cookies are the easiest. Breads & rolls take a bit more time to learn .....If you research the recipe file on this site there are some great recipes...
  20. I visit Bev & Lauren about twice a year so not often. WHat are they making & selling that they do themselves? I know several local gluten-free bakers who take their goodies to the shop but didn't know Bev was now baking & selling herself/ please fill me in!!!!   25. Protein Bars are also good to carry in a purse or pocket. We all love the comfort bars...order online. Oberto makes two beef jerky orig & 1 other that is gluten-free, there may be others that are gluten-free as well. Gary West meats has delicious steak strips.cheese & gluten-free crackers you have a great snack. Leafty green salads with cold chicken...
