  2. I have one celiac gene & one gluten intolerant so I'm totally gluten-free, no cheating ever. You could very well be having CC issues.. I got very itchy skin, angry, restless & migraines when I used to get a particle of gluten. Many of us also have other allergies as well . So you could try be extremely careful about gluten & see if you feel...
  3. Hello & Welcome Not a stupid question at all! It is natural to go through a grieving process & sometimes it takes a while to come to terms with an illness. Sometimes, as Jersey Angel stated when one gets CC or glutened by accident strange things flair -up & make us feel defeated..no one is the same, some fly-by with no issues & others ...
  4. This is a mixed-bag for me! First off if the children are not tested to know for sure ie: blood, Dna, endo. then how are they going to eat at school? Most want documentation that a kid needs to be on this lifestyle. On the other hand for me it wouldn't matter but for school it matters. We have two kids both tested so our school allows them use of the micro...
  5. Before celiac I had this problem & it turned out to be gallbladder issues!
  6. BiAglut is back in the US.... I'm so glad I had a stash for when it was unavailable!!! It is the best......
  7. A great pasta product is BiAglut. It tastes like raeal wheat pasta. My husband is not gluten-free but eats gluten-free because he can't tell the difference! YOu will most likely have to do mailorder on most of the items I've mentioned. FOr us it is the only way to get the best of the best in gluten-free. Are you aware that there are many gluten-free foods...
  8. You have got some good answers.... Truly there isn't anything really that can't be done gluten-free! Joan's gluten-free great bakes are wonderful eng muffins/ bagels, scilian pizza.... Bristol buns has terrific soft/ swishy rolls for buregers & deli sandwiches. Celiac Specialitites has to die for donuts ...... Conte's has gluten-free ravioli, poerogi...
  9. If you explain that you have celiac disease most places are willing to put a fridge & micro in the room for you. I done this many times & they never charged extra. I always carry a ice cooler with food to heat up. I have also taken a toaster oven in the room ...toaster too. If they have a breakfast buffet you can usually get fruit, yougurt &...

  11. Rosacea can do that also--- another autoimmune disorder! Nightshade vegetables have caused some irritations of the skin . For me at times I can eat a food my itself but when I add another food with it something weird happens & I have a terrible reaction..... go figure exept I'm very sensitive to planet earth......
  12. I hope you get to feeling better soon. It could be just the plain old flu .My daughter had the same symptoms for about three days. Still weak but improving alot. If you are super-sensitive it could be just being around others that eat wheat & the crumbs ....nerves can also put one into a mild panic that can make a person ill .... get better soon...
  13. The Zojirushi is the best ,a real work horse....in my opinion. Five years old & still kicking.... It makes a normal loaf of bread & has two paddles . Making gluten free bread requires a strong machine . It is about $200.00 but it will last. Some machines over heat while struggling to beat gluten-free dough. hth mamaw
  14. PLEASE promise yourself you wil never be polite again! I'm sure friends or family would not expect you eat knowingly eat something that would make you ill. Tarnalberry...
  15. For Me I did not stop eating wheat because of his book! I was gluten free way before I read his book & Again I think some may fall under his theory by fluke! For another family member it is way off, not even close! I have one celiac gene & 1 gluten intolerant..... I can't say I buy into the book.......... mamaw
  16. There was a poll a while back, I'm not sure if it was this site or the delphi site. The bloodtype diet is head -on for some & others it is totally off. I'm O- as well as daughter, brother & we all are celiac..... I do know how much better I am without wheat & gluten ... I also know many medical professionals that do not eat wheat or gluten because...
  17. In the US maltodextrin is considered gluten free. You could be having an allergic reaction but I don't think a gluten response if you live in the US. Also you may not be celiac but you could be gluten intolerant or sensitive. Either way the outcome is the same--- the gluten free diet. Reaction time to ingesting gluten is different for every person. One...

  19. Dr.Adamo has book eat for your specific blood type. SOme believe in this & others totally disagree. O type is the oldest blood type , way before grains were introduced . O bloodtypes are meat eaters not grain eaters. In years passed I never ate much meat but before celiac I was told I needed to eat some meat or more meat. After I learned to eat more...

  21. It is hard to change when you are used to cooking for several & then its just for two! I'm still making /cooking way to much & then we find we overeat! Excuse lets not waste it!. A bigger freezer would be your best option so your not tossing away food & money. How about a couple chicken breasts. There is so much you can do with chicken. chili...
  22. chicken corn chowder, chicken & vegetable, french onion are also gluten-free.
  23. rice bran ; chia seeds could be used as a sub.
  24. I think one of the sad things about this diet is that we all have to be responsible for ourselves.... If we don't take charge then why would we expect someone to do it for us.... if we are not willing to take charge of our health. Suggestions would be to go to places you know can supply you something , eat before hand, take your own munchies... This...
  25. Most hospitals are not gluten-free friendly...... at home I suggest an emergency food storage plan. Their are many canned soups from Progresso that are gluten-free. If you need the list let me know. Plus there are several frozen entrees that are gluten-free. I would also keep gluten-free crackers, canned meats ,veggies & canned fruits around. We have...
