  3. Hi Harley000 I replied to your other post.... but for this post I will add : Not everyone heals the same & your body can go through period of feeling worse before it begins to get better. & start to heal. This did not happen overnight nor will it get better overnight. For us celiac people we have poisioned our systems for years not knowing that...

  5. Yes & no!!!! Many times you can sub out flours but you need to know that some gluten-free flours are heavier & have a strong taste so you wouldn't want to try to bake a cake but it would be okay for a hearty bread recipe. hth mamaw
  6. There are several very high end flours that are wonderful. IE: Better Batter FLour: Meister's Flour:Domata Living FLour: Authenic FLour has super fine brown rice or super fine white rice flour. I use this to make Annalise Roberts flour blend for use with her wonderful cookbook. It is the best...Jules FLour blend. When you buy preblended flours you do...

  11. It is not quite so easy . You must determine the difference between the reg wheat type bread & what the gluten-free bread cost. It is the difference in cost. You have to do this for every gluten-free item you want to use the Medical Spending account. Personally I don't have the time to do that plus you must save & send in every recipe.... very time...
  12. Hello & Welcome You need to be 100% with the gluten-free lifestyle. I would not eat anything that stated may contain traces of wheat or gluten. The made in a factory that also process' wheat products. Many of the lines are dedicated lines or cleaned after every use.Others may not be. This statement is put on packaging so they can't be sued, legal issue...

  14. You are not alone in your thinking process. You are going through physcial,& mental issues that many of us have gone through. It does get better but there is no set time-frame for all. Keep your focus or eye on the ball because much better health is on the horizon... Try not to take in to much info all at once, in fact it is almost impossible to learn...

  16. We love Disney but I do have a question. Chef TJ is not at the Boma any more? You mentioned him at another place! We love Chef TJ. We actually bought Zebra Domes back home with us. Many places gave us extras of the desserts...... French Meadow was the rolls when we were there but they do change every so often. I believe you needed to ask to look over...
  17. Hi Everyone Gluten Free Cravings is hosting a dining out on Nov 8,2009 at 3:30 sharp at Ferrara's Little Italy , Hall Rd, Sharon, Pa. 18. Kix! Many are eating these without seeing any side effects but who can see the intestines! I think there are still old boxes on the store shelves as well as new ones. As you stated they are not on the gluten-free list from the mfg as yet. If your son is very sensitive I myself would not give them to him but if he's not so sensitive the I probably would...
  19. IBS is one of the things doctors dx before a celiac dx for many of us. Now since being gluten-free for a long time I'm having BIG C issues ! I still get bloated & miralax is my new BBF...even that at times don't do the trick.... I just strictly follow the gluten free diet & take lots of fiber.... I have no solution I just manage this way...No big...
  20. Stainless steel, ceramic cookware is good choices. Glass is okay as well...I agree bleaching & disinfecting is a good thing . One thing none of us need is a flu bug. I run around all the time with clorox & lysol wipes! Nothing wrong with a clean house! I think we all want to have instant relief but it doesn't always happen that way... You are doing...
  21. We take elderberry syrup during the winter months every year. We also take D-3, B-12 No flu shots for us....We drink the Emerg-C as well...... Holy Basil is supposed to help when the first signs of the flu appear. hth mamaw
  22. Here's my take! Still in very early stage of recovery. Remember celiac doesn't happen overnight & it can take a long while to totally recover. For some it takes a year or more to get those numbers down.... everyone is different. Same with sensitivity, some very & others not so much. Plus its great that you bleached everything but gluten is not a germ...
