I'm not trying to be rude or insensitive here but most of your posts are all about negatives. We all go through denial, anger, feeling lost & hopeless but at some point this is life & we move on to focus on the good things. You can't continue to dwell on this dark side or you will bury yourself in self-pity. Your woes could be a lot worse & believe... -
ARCHIVED New, Tried Alots Of Food And Fustrated
mamaw replied to kpatillo's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
As I have more time now I read your post again.Just because something states organic doesn't mean it is gluten free ( organic rice krispies) Protein burgers or fake burgers are not always gluten free.Fried rice can also include soy sauce again not gluten-free. Wal-mart & LaChoy or San J are gluten-free soy sauces. It appears you may be getting gluten... -

Hi Kim There is a group from that area. Mike Eberhart has a gluten-free blog & he is a cookbook author as well. He just moved from the Cleveland area..... We go to this area about four times a year to shop. I love the Raisin Rack in Canton or Columbus. Canton has more gluten-free... mamaw -
For Columbus I would contact the gluten free gang. They are the ones who have the big celiac conference every year at the Columbus Childrens Hospital. Mary Kay Sharrett is the dietician & I'm positive she would have doctors. There is also a group in Arkon . hth

For our fairs usually the greasy fries are okay but you do need to check with each vendor! Not healthy at all! The other thing the kids always want are the funnel cakes. SO I make funnel cakes at home & let them get their fill & by the time we reach the fair the desire for funnel cakes is gone!We also take a bag of junk food with us that they do not... -

ARCHIVED Gluten-free Pet Food -- Really Necessary?
mamaw replied to OliveBranch's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
If you have small children who put things in their mouths then yes I would go gluten free. Our pets are gluten-free because they react to gluten, vomiting, itchy skin, runny stools. Everyone is gluten-free now at our house including the furry kids! Animals react to things the same way people do. My vet bills are much less now that the furry kids are gluten... -
Take the snacks you already enjoy. Will you access to a fridge & freezer? Most places will allow you to keep a few speciality foods . If I were a young person I would take chips & dip, pretzels, candy, twinkies ( homemade) , choc.chip cookies, ice cream sandwich all homemade of course. That is what our kids take for football camp. I also check the...

ARCHIVED Celiac Disease A Ada Disability?
mamaw replied to diannalynn0711's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm not from Ohio but I would go back to the assistance office & speak to another person! I don't see why you cannot get food stamps.... Also catholic charities & groups like that usually help with one time donations. If all else fails call your state representatives & jerk, whine & complain until someone hears you. Could a family member...
