  3. Elizabeth Great that you are growing . I wonder when everyone is chatting about, who controls the chatting? We started with a meet & greet but had over 100 in small town USA! It was wonderful but some were telling newbies that they cheat & eat wheat when they are with friends. Others mentioned products they purchase & they were not gluten-free...

  5. I agree with you at some point or some days we just need a break from baking & cooking! I cook for 8 most days , 4 gluten-free & the others usually also eat gluten-free depending on what is being prepared... I'm the only one who cooks so I understand!!!!! Pamela's cheesecakes are wonderful so is Moondance Cheesecakes. Both about the same pricing...

  8. Hi Lady C The seminar is OCt 17 (412-262-1000 )to register for that. Speakers are Connie Sarros from Ohio, Jules Shepard of Nearly Normal FLour, & a few others. Vendors about 23 total will also be available for sampling & selling their gluten-free goodies.... This is the only event in this area Our Butler meetings are on hold at present ....
  9. grits are fine for the gluten-free diet. What you need to watch is cross-con. I for one react to Bob's Red Mill products gluten-free or not.I believe Hodgson Mills may have grits that are organic which again doesn't mean they are certified gluten-free...
  10. There are several excellent mixes available these days. But on this site is a good recipe Lorka's bread mix to make at home. It also has some good grains in the recipe. I have found you can't mess it up!. Pamela's, Anna's bread mix are both very good. You also could try using 3 tbsp less water in the recipe you are using at present...hth mamaw
  11. Kimis I'm from the other end of the state but here are my suggestions. Contact Abington Hospital & ask their referral service. Another hospital would be Paoli..... the last suggestions is contacting the CSA from that area (Philly) & asking them.... hth mamaw

The support group in Butler has people attending from S Hills,N.Hills & etc. This is only the third seminar so it is fairly new...I'm a mentor for celiac in this area. hth mamaw

  22. Many wines & liquors contain sulphites, which many of us react strongly to. You may want to check that out ..... I get an instant splitting headaches almost at the first two sips.....hth mamaw
  23. super-fine rice flour will give your baked goods are better texture, not gritty like when you use reg. rice flour. I agree trial & error is time consuming, nerve -racking & a royal pain but if that is what we need to do , I guess do it & get it done!.I think we all wish there was an easier way to figure out what bothers us, a magic wand....but to date I feel quite sure no one has come up with an answer or plan, SORRY.If you do you could make millions.......
