  1. MommaGoose thank you . We all should be helping each other & the world would be a better place. I'm sure it wasn't easy to say she is hungry & trying to get an education to have a good life. 2. Pamela's is excellent! Not expensive & everyone eats it . I usually make my own but when I'm in a hurry Pamela's is the one I use. I not a big fan of Nasmaste.. or Arrowhead mills.....most people do not even know that they are eating a gluten-free cake with Pamela's. mamaw
  3. I have a kitchen aid hand mixer & a stand mixer. The hand one is about eight years old now & just keeps going. Plus it has many verying speeds that keeps up with the heavy gluten-free stuff. I blew up my old mixer on the second try with gluten-free ! The hand mixer is about $50.00 but it is well worth the price.....hth mamaw
  4. I'm guessing you are eating gluten-free, correct? I see where others have said about food banks but I wonder how much gluten-free they would have, I'm sure you could get rice, beans, butter & staples but do you have a place where you can actually cook? Some students just have a micro. I can tell you that if you e-mail a few gluten-free companies they...
  5. breadmakers that have been used for wheat bread needs replaced as well. There is no way to clean the holes where the paddles attach. I would get rid of anything that is porous & scratched. The hand mixer is also another thing to take a close look at. The air vents usually get clogged with flour.Cutting boards as well. good luck on your new lifestyle...

I have sent them educational maerials &...

  11. betterbatter is good for at least a year on the shelf. I just keep it at a even temp away from heat & sunlight. The only thing I freeze is the brown rice flour as it goes bad sooner than other stuff. Usually just keep it in a cool place is fine. Others will tell you to refirgerate . If you do remeber to bring iot to room temp before using it & also...

  18. Hello Wow, I wonder how your doctor came up with that one>>>> maybe he can twitch his nose & make celiac disappear! No wonder the US is so far behind other countries regarding celiac. I think it is us who have to teach doctors , they are not teaching us anything.... I do have to laugh a bit about his comment because I'm blue eyed &...

  22. Hello I'm from Pa too? Near Pittsburgh- where are you from? Have you checked your thyroid? Fibromyglia?, CFS.Ms? Are you celiac or gluten intolerant? Doctor dx'd or self dx'd? I have several autoimmune disorders besides celiac. I have days where I move fairly well & days where I can barely move at all. Are you taking Vit D? B-12? Just a few suggestions...
  23. You have no way of telling what is going on inside your intestinal tract, many people show or present with NO symptoms. Plus just because you do not have celiac does not mean you also are not gluten intolerant. If you cheat you will never find out for sure. It can take up to ten years for a doctor to get a correct dx's.... To clarify celiac disease also...
