I wish I could tell you more but it seems like you have been tested & tested. I do know some people have problems with tapicoa products & rice... I don't see much fruit in your diet, oddly enough I get sick when I combine certain foods. Eating one at a time I have no problem but when I add one thing with another I can get sick. I'm not sure if...

Hi & Welcome No one heals at the same rate of time. It can take some only a few days to notice a change & others it can take two years... remember you didn't get this way overnight & it takes time to get all the bad stuff out of your body. Are you drinking plenty of good clean pure water daily? And gluten can be hidden & it is easy...

ARCHIVED Tax Information For Ceilac Patients
mamaw replied to Ruth519's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
I'm sorry but I think your IRS friend is wrong in regards to the tax deduction for the gluten-free . I would re-question that person again.. I for one would love it if that were true.. The other two posters are very correct.. As far as feeding two other members gluten-free. I used to cook to separate meals as well. Now about the only thing I cook different... -
ARCHIVED Tax Information For Ceilac Patients
mamaw replied to Ruth519's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
I think you can deduct the difference between the price of gluten-free food & the wheat counterpart. I don't think you can deduct the total gluten-free food bill... It is a hassle to do this. ie: wheat bread cost$ $2.49 , gluten-free bread cost$5.99 equals $3.50 you can deduct. plus you need to keep proof just in case you are ever audited...this needs... -

ARCHIVED Chicken
mamaw replied to heatherjane's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
no, not all plain chicken is min.processed. I buy only natural organic chicken, nothing else added. When you get into to big processing companies like Tyson, Perdue & others they sometimes add ...if you have never had a free range chicken to eat do your self a favor & get one. The taste is so good & different from Tyson & others. You can tell... -

Why don't you take along pancake mix, bread, cereal & your snacks. I would tell your Mother she can make any meats that are not pre-seasoned, marinated or have sauces on the meat. She can season with McCormick as their spices are clearly labeled. The same with vegetables & kraft salad dressing are also clearly marked. I would probably make or buy... -

Black Ace makes gluten-free /wf licorice, red or black. It is not in long sticks but drops. I haven't tried it yet as I just found it. Also black licorice scotty dogs at Trader Joe's is gluten-free as well. Some buy at the dollar store but I'm sorry I've forgotten the name. I have never seen that at our Trader Joe's but TJ'S does have a gluten-free list printed if you ask at the front office. It is lengthy but I don't see the food you mentioned but my list from TJ's is over a year old now. Whole Foods also has a printed phamplet with gluten-free... -

mamaw replied to mamatide's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Applebees is not gluten free friendly.Even the grilled chicken is not safe. Most sport bar type eateries use the same supplier. Most grilled chicken or any chicken is flas frozen with a flash glaze that we can not have! Chili's is ok & Texas Roadhouse is ok for grilled chicken.... hth -

Hi Ranger I don't know how long you have been gluten-free but here's a thought or two! Many do not get enough roughage or fiber & once it dawns on them to add something , it has been awhile since theri intestinal tract has had to break down roughage. Another thing is the chocolate can cause some distress......Lastly, sometimes you can eat each item...

ARCHIVED Tyson Checken Breasts
mamaw replied to LuvMoosic4life's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Most large mgf's of chicken are farmed in mass quantities & are fed antibiotics & growth hormone to grow them fast. I'm not saying that Tyson does this but I have found Bell & Evans or chickens that are allowed to grow at a normal pace & are not injected with chemicals to speed their growth are so much tastier. And of course better for you... -
ARCHIVED Recently Diagnosed And Feeling Dehydrated And Unusually Tired
mamaw replied to jebach's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I forgot to mention this in my first post, sorry. Here is a quick way to check to see if you are actually dehyrated. Pinch the skin together & slightly pull upward & let go, if your skin stays in that upward place & does not return to normal that is a sign you are dehyrated. The longer it takes to become normal the more you need fluids. Also coffee...
