  1. LOVE Corbette's fish house! Also ate at outbacks, the staff was pretty knowledgeable but I wouldn't touch the gluten-free brownies they offered for dessert because I asked the girl and she said there was no flour IN the brownies but the pans were dusted. A plain steak and potato was fine though.
  2. If you read the ingredients on Rolos it contains wheat (or did as of a few weeks ago..)
  3. I have managed to find an ener-g product that does not resemble or taste like rocks and cardboard! It's their "Gluten Free Enriched Soft Loaf" in a blue bag. It was in Safeway (Canada) for $3.49, the same price as normal bread! You have to keep it in the fridge, but it doesn't need to be toasted (I don't even eat Kinnikinnick without toasting), and...
  4. I usually pound back green tea and water, and try to sleep. Also I hate the throwing up and D, but I find that the faster that happens the better I feel so if I am at home I never take immodium (different story if I get glutened when I'm out!). I don't think I would be able to work out when glutened, but a hot bath might help with the pain of bloating and...
  5. Not sure about the DH, but have you noticed any other symptoms for the past 6 weeks? Maybe you're more tired, moody, scatterbrained, sore? If you are doubting diagnosis because of you not reacting for 6 weeks, maybe stay on gluten and then get a biopsy? But if you know that the rash went away with gluten might as well stick to it and have happy skin!
  6. I drink it all the time and I'm soy-dairy-gluten free!
  7. If a gum were to not be gluten free, what would be the culprit ingredient?
  8. I just hate food. Wouldn't call it a disorder, but when I was growing up doctors/therapists thought I had bulemia from all the throwing up, and anorexia when I became scared to eat. I have always had an issue with my weight and I feel terrible about myself when I can't stick to the restrictions I put on myself. I have so many intolerances and am still...
  9. Nature's Fair!!! We have one in Kamloops too! If not the Whole Foods is in Kelowna, still fairly close. I'll be SO excited if they finally carry a good bread to have sandwiches on.
  10. I'm not angry in the way that I know they are just doing themselves harm and I pity them and think they are stupid. But what does make me very angry is that it makes people who take their celiac seriously seem like a joke.
  11. I drove down to the US to get them, bought 6 boxes, and loved every bite. Will be going again soon.
  12. Thanks guys! Georgie, I'm pretty sure it's a caseine thing since things that are supposedly lactose free bother me. I went grocery shopping and bought blueberries, celery, spinach, chickpeas, rice, white potato, eggs, and some herbal tea. anything wrong with those?
  13. Hi everybody. I have been having symptoms daily for almost two weeks now, and I am careful about what goes near my mouth, and live in a gluten-free house. Somebody suggested fructose malabsorption, which could be a problem. So what is "Safe" without: Corn Soy Gluten Dairy Shellfish Fructose I like veggies, fruit (which I guess is a problem...
  14. I work at a place that makes wraps and stirfries, and we have a gluten free menu. So a lady came in yesterday and said she needed to look at our list of gluten free sauces, so I was all excited ready to help somebody just like me. She looked at all the sauces then told me what to make...on a whole wheat tortilla. This is how the conversation went: Me...
  15. Do you know if we can oder it online? I really want to try it too, I wish they would carry it.
  16. I feel for you. I had a late miscarriage at 16 weeks and I constantly wonder if it was something as stupid as being glutened here and there. The good news is the longer you stay gluten-free the better your chances will get
  17. You may not have been absorbing nutrients before going gluten-free, and now you are able to get the nutrition you need. If you continue to gain try cutting out replacement foods and just eat lots of fresh fruits, veggies, meat, nuts, etc.
  18. Ugh. My boyfriend's mom claims to eat gluten-free..she says she has a huge understanding for it and such but I'm terrified to let her cook for me. When she comes over I try to convince her that I'll do the cooking and she can just sit, relax, etc, but she really likes to get in there. Her son and I keep our apartment completely gluten free and she tends...
  19. I was so so sick from these cookies. But maybe I am one of those Celiacs that can't eat oats..
  20. Thanks Kathleen, it's always nice to know that we're not alone in all this. So for those who are on the FODMAP diet, gluten-free obviously, Soy-free, Dairy-free, and gonna try maybe corn and rice free...what do you eat? Rice cakes have been my saviour through this year and a half..and rice noodles, rice paper, rice tortillas, rice bread.... Are most...
  21. Thanks, I'm going to have to try all of this. For breakfast I had an apple and a plum and felt sick for hours. D came later at work. wtf?
  22. i use kinnikinnick all purpose blend
  23. Lately I have been feeling sick after everything I eat. I don't get my gluten symptoms (bloating, D, vomit, etc) but I just feel really nauseated and my migraines are triggered. My depression and anxiety have been horrible lately. I have my own gluten-free kitchen (with the bf's occasional beer) so no utensils or anything are contaminated. Here is what...
  24. I get some from Nature's Fair market, a health food store. They have chicken, turkey, beef and buffalo, and they are marked gluten free.
  25. I assume this is in the US? I find costco in Canada pretty lame for gluten-free products..they do sell larabars, but that's it really..and of course, things that are naturally gluten free.
