  1. Nope that is not it....I had my minerals and vitamins tested by a blood test ordered by my doctor.
  2. Yuck Ener-G bread is gross My fav kinds are: 1.Cybros Rice Rolls 2.Kinnikinnick 3.Chebe 4.Foods By George-cinnamon english muffins....needs to be toasted though
  3. If you let your stomach get too empty you can get sick-that's for pretty much everyone. However, the bloating and all of that are symptoms of celiac...and I know before I was gluten free I found it extremely hard to eat and I would have nausea all the time.

    ARCHIVED Homeopathic Doctors

I'm completely for alternative medicine but I have to agree with Richard on this one...there is no cure for celiac. There may be things that may help with symptoms and everything but nothing right now takes place of the diet
  5. Yes, I was up and down for many months before feeling better. I know you said your foods have been gluten free but what about your products? Also, since you are kind of new to the diet it does take time to feel better it took me 8 months to get back to normal but I felt better and saw improvement before then...have you seen any improvement? If you have...
  6. My reactions usually last a good 2 weeks....but reaction times vary. Hope you feel better soon.
  7. Vydor-Good luck with testing and let us know as soon as you find out something...glad to hear you were at least some better while on the diet. Jmfrisch-the DNA is pretty good but the only thing is a small percentage of people do not have either of the main genes(DQ2,DQ8) Most have one of those but not all. Also not all of the celiac genes are identified...
  8. I know exactly how you feel. It's like they think you should be instantly better and ignore all the good and it is disheartening. You are not crazy and it's not in your head. Even the little bit of improvement by now should be so encouraging for you We are here to support you and share your feelings anytime and if you ever need to talk just email me.
  9. I am so sorry to hear that If you ever need someone just to talk to you are welcome to contact me anytime...I will keep you and your family in my prayers...hang in there
  10. What brand of cornflakes do you eat because I know Kelloggs are not gluten free so if it's that brand you would be getting gluten. What brand of chocolate do you eat?
  11. Colgate is definitely the way to go...when I worked at a day care we would get that brand because I told them it was safe for me to use and I was in charge of projects. Kids can have alot of fun with it
  12. My dad is on a garlic supplement for his high cholesterol and it seems to be helping...we will no for sure next blood test he gets but it came down from like 260 something to 230 something within like 2 months so we are hoping it has gone down even further. I have used Colloidal Silver before and seems to be good Have never tried accupuncture but I...
  13. I know how you feel. I had the same issue for a while and it was quite annoying. Nobody would listen to me...I would find another doctor if yours will not listen to you. You have alot of symptoms that are suspect of celiac so I would definitely consider it a possibility.
  14. Amys, Shelton's, and Thai Kitchen all have soups that are gluten free and say it on the can/package.
  15. The thing is I think the EMA can have more false negatives so are therefore not as accurate. Please do not get the IgG-tTG and the IgA-tTG mixed up because the IgA-tTG is the specific one and the IgG-tTG is less sensitive. I have one of the main celiac genes and all my tests came back high including the tTG- except the EMA came back negative. You may...
  16. I got this email today: I haven't tried them yet but I like this brand so I will be trying them soon....let me know if any of you tried them yet. ANNOUNCING: Chebe Bread Products is pleased to announce two new mixes that we are certain you will want to try! Both are gluten-free and casein-free. The first was requested over and over again by our customers...
  17. When I get a reaction they usually last a good 2 weeks. After that I start getting better but I am not really my normal self again until 3 weeks to a month after exposure to gluten. Nausea is one of the main symptoms but I also get some anxiety with some weight loss and brain fog and a few other minor things but your reactions sound alot like mine. Are you...
  18. The tTG test is the most accurate one for celiac you can get. It is actually taking over biopsies for diagnosis with some doctors. The EMA is another very accurate test but in my opinion should NOT be done alone. Both of these tests usually detect damage. The other tests in the complete panel are: IgA is one of the first to usually elevate unless you...
  19. Nausea was one of my main symptoms and when I am glutened it is one of the worst symptoms. I use a homeopathic spray called Stomach Distress by Liddell that has helped and sometimes I use a Coke syrup by Apothecary Products. For food I notice that jello and mashed potatoes settle well on my stomach when it is not feeling too good.
  20. As most of you know I am in the middle of writing a book about celiac and it has been going very well. I am adding a chapter on quick and good recipes so if anyone has their favorites that they want me to add let me know.
  21. If you have sensitive skin you should watch what you put on and at first start out with a small area of the body. I have very sensitive skin. In fact I put some gluten free stuff on my face one time and within minutes my face was completely red, burning, and tingling, and parts went numb. It was not a gluten reaction it was just that I have sensitive skin...
  22. Symptoms are broad with celiac. Some people get them and others do not. When someone has symptoms and goes gluten free it does take time for the symptoms to go away. At 16 years of age when I was diagnosed it took me 8 months to get back to normal. It depends on age-usually the younger you are the quicker you heal because over years the damage usually accumulates...
  23. The reason why products matter is because they can easily get into your mouth. Think about it..if you wash your hands with gluten containing soap and then prepare your food you cross contaminate. With shampoos, it can easily slide down your face in the water and how often do you touch your hair throughout the day without even thinking about it...that gets...
  24. Oscar Mayer is a Kraft brand and will clearly list wheat, rye, barley, oats on the label if it has any.
  25. I carry Purell antibacterial soap with me....Purell is gluten free.
