  1. Crest toothpaste is fine. Pretty much every cosmetic could have gluten so you need to check. I use mainly Bare Escentuals makeup because the whole line is gluten free. If you got the Delphi List alot of products can be checked on there. For shampoo, hairspray, conditioner, bar soap...I use Dove...they will clearly list gluten in the form of wheat,rye...
  2. That's good news....I'm sure the Cocoa Pebbles won't be too far behind if this product sells well.
  3. Did you have the total serum IgA run? That is used to rule out IgA deficiency which can make the IgA tests come back negative when they would otherwise be positive. The IgG is the least specific test of the bunch. IgG detects a problem with gluten and it is usually one of the first things to go high. I can't tell you whether or not you have it though,...
  4. In my opinion it needs to be brought up. It is serious for someone with celiac not following the diet. Does she know the risks involved? Some smart guy that person was who told her she didn't have it with medical evidence staring you in the face saying the opposite. Could you have maybe your son talk to her? Or maybe print out some stuff on not following...
  5. Seriously, gluten can be in everything. This is why it is so important to check labels. I wouldn't think they would put wheat products in makeup or lunch meats but they do. Check everything.
  6. Hidden Valley is NOT gluten free. I love the Kraft salad dressings
  7. Try hitting refresh on your screen...thats what I do and then I can see the new avatars
  8. its a pic of you and a guy
  9. It looks fine to me....
  10. I would try him on the gluten free diet...not just wheat free. With kids under 2 testing can be inaccurate. If under 2, I would just try the diet out(100% gluten free) for a while and see how he reacts to it. However, if you plan on testing him when he reaches that age he needs to stay on gluten because being gluten free will alter test results.
  11. IgA deficiency is seen a bit with celiac and that makes blood tests come back wrong sometimes. However, testing with kids under 2 can be inaccurate anyway. Biopsies can rule celiac in but they can't rule celiac out so keep that in mind. She may still have it even if the scope results come back negative.
  12. I usually eat brands that are made on the same lines unless I get a problem from them. Have you changed products like shampoos, makeups, soaps, and that sort of thing yet? Maybe it was something else and not the spices. Which brand of spices was it?
  13. Wow I just now noticed that....very cool...maybe I'll join you soon
  14. https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 This is a link to lists of safe and forbidden foods and ingredients. This will help you out of things that can be questionable. Also the following brands save us alot of time because they will say wheat, rye, barley, or oats right on the label or they will be safe. They will not hide anything even under otherwise...
  15. Technically all grains contain gluten. However, there are only certain grains we need to avoid. Herbal supplements can have gluten in them so you do need to check with each indidvidual manufacturer to make sure that the product is safe before taking it. Quinoa, millet, and buckwheat are just like corn and rice in the fact that they have different proteins...
  16. Richard is correct. Celiac is not an allergy so would not show up on allergy tests. Celiac has a separate panel that needs to be done. However, kids under the age of 2 can have inaccurate results. Since celiac runs in the family you and your kids should probably all be tested. The panel for celiac you should get is listed below: Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA...
  17. Yes, my mom read in a book that if you put water in a microwave and then put it on seeds in soil they will not grow. I try to avoid the microwave whenever possible...its a nutrient sucker.
  18. The Delphi List is 79 pages long and has foods and products. It's a great list. It does not have everything but it is quite extensive. In the product section celiac3270 posted about it a while ago and if you contact him he will send it to you. If you want to get to it yourself he gives instructions in that post.
  19. General Mills will not hide anything so if it didn't say wheat, rye, barley, oats on the label it's safe.
  20. These ARE very common symptoms. Fatigue is actually the most common symptom. There are over 200 symptoms with celiac and nobody is the same. I had alot, but not all,of the same symptoms you do. Nausea was my #1 symptom along with anxiety but I did have some constipation, sleep problems, lack of energy-fatigue,etc. When were you diagnosed? Are you...
  21. Hang in there. Symptoms will not go away overnight. I was not normal until 8 months gluten free but I felt alot better after the 3rd month. Everyone is different so just stick with it and your body will work at it's own pace. Also, have you looked into checking cosmetics, shampoos, lotions, soaps, and other products to make sure they are gluten free as...
  22. You may want to go to the safe and forbidden lists. This link will tell you what gluten can hide under. https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 Both natural flavors and modified food starch have the possibility of having gluten so you need to check each individual product. Alot of drinks are safe but some are not. However, the following...
  23. Cramps can also be a sign of lack of calcium..she may want to get her vitamins and minerals tested. In celiacs they can be deficient due to malabsorption.
  24. Have you changed your products like makeup, nailpolish, shampoo, soaps, lotions, etc to all be gluten free. Could you have been glutened that way? Also, I know you say you couldn't have been glutened but at first I was thinking that too and there was alot of the hidden gluten that got in. So you are sure you know the hidden gluten sources as well? Also...
  25. Do you know which tests were run? If you don't I would find out and post them. Forget the doctor trying to rule it out...he obviously knows nothing about celiac. I would change doctors. I had a doctor spending more time convincing me it was all in my head then actually figuring out what the problem really was.
