  1. I think so little is really still known about autoimmune diseases. What triggers them, causes them etc. I don't believe it could be a simple as one thing, thanks for the links skylark, It'll be interesting to read.
  2. Two of my DS' have had endo's. One was 18 months at the time the other was 4. The one who was four is going to start a gluten challenge in 2 months and then have another endo, I am far more concerned about the eating gluten part that the endo. It is hard to watch your kids have one, but it was over so quickly and they both just came out of it and were completely...
  3. Have you reacted to it? I am starting to get desperate on long drives, I read the website and it says a few of them are gluten-free - but I'm just wondering about cross contamination etc.
  4. Heck yeah - in fact I *avoid* the bakery section usually, why on earth would I even go to that side of the store??
  5. Homemade ham, sundried tomato and cheese muffins.
  6. Yaya! yay! Yay! I lurve crumpets! They aren't doing bellyhoo anymore at my coles either, majorly upset, I didn't even feel bad paying that price as they are so good!
  7. I don't love oats - but to be honest, I despise rice porridge and most bread and all that stuff= so I am finding breakfast really hard - especially to find something filling. Arrghh.
  8. I read an article that stated that Beef was an inflammatory, but that kangaroo wasn't at all. Open Original Shared Link Fascinating stuff!
  9. I can do corn, do you think that makes a difference?
  10. Some of those reactions sounds scary. I don't know if I could face it to be honest! The gluten free products here in Australia have to be <3ppm - I am absolutely fine with gluten-free products so I'm sure that won't be an issue. Just if I am unlucky enough to react to oats. I'll have a read of those links Irish - Thanks!!
  11. Yes, my husband is the same - I went gluten free and because two of our kids did too we decided the whole house would. He didn't notice anything unusual at first but then when he went to eat gluten again he got ill. Every time he eats it he gets ill. He can't be bothered to be tested (I want him to though - I'd like to see if he has the genes etc.)
  12. I can't say either way = but I had to do those tests when pregnant, and they made me feel really nauseated - they said that was normal, but I was heaving and stuff, Ring the company to make sure I reckon!
  13. The cafe is in Bathurst - its called Ellie's and has the biggest coeliac menu you have EVER seen. I seriously almost fainted from excitement. A whole menu where we can eat whatever we want!!
  14. I am Australian, but my husband is from Western bay and we used to live in Corner brook and St John's. We are back in Australia now though;-) I think about it alot - how my life would be in Newfoundland with coeliac - and I have decided it would be way harder to be gluten free over there than it is here! What are your thoughts?
  15. If you had a severe reaction to gluten? I really want to, I would love to be able to eat oats, but I read that 1 in 5 Coeliacs react to the gluten like protein found in oats. To be honest it scares me big time. If you do react to oats - is the reaction as bad as what you get with gluten??
  16. Yeah, It does get better. I consider myself a total foodie, not just cooking but eating out ALL the time, new cafes and restaurants and never a care in the world. It is hard, and I still have that horrible feeling about it. But it gets better. And now if I stumble on a great cafe etc that has a gluten free menu I just have the best time. You start to appreciate...
  17. Is reactive arthritis different from AI type arthritis? I have something -still not officially diagnosed, but something along the lines of connective tissue disease (RA, psoriatic, sjogren's, lupus etc) Unfortunately nothing to do with my joints has changed since going gluten free. Doh. Sposed to start methotrexate soon - but I have been putting it off. It...
  18. well, some people are nauseated all the time. Waking up nauseated can be a sign of many things, including stomach ulcers and stuff. Has the Dr asked you any questions relating to that? There are over 300 associated symptoms with Coeliac disease - which is why its so hard to diagnose, some people have none, some have few, some have many etc.
  19. All of those can be symptoms, I'd be getting a full panel done, although as tom said, this place is full of sero-negative people (myself included) who gluten is deffo a problem for.
  20. Not sure how seriously anyone takes these things without an official diag - or even a diag- I found out yesterday that my son was playing with playdoh at school! WTF!
  21. Yeah - its usually about 30 mins - to 45 mins for me.
  22. IBS doesn't cause joint pain - or even most of the symptoms you have listed. It is just sooo difficult to work all this stuff out, especially if it is Coeliac as false negative rates are high in the tests. And all those symptoms you have listed could be caused by so many other things it just isn't funny. I'd be going to the Dr personally - what you have listed...
  23. I didn't see her ana - a family friend is a doctor who went to medical school with her and she was saying for Gluten she is the best.
  24. Oh my god, I just had the best ever gluten-free bread experience. I went to a cafe in town that has a separate Coeliac menu. wahoo. Anyhow - I ordered a cajun chicken burger - it came with toatsed bread and at first I was a little disappointed - that didn't last long. This bread was AMAZING. So like the real thing that I was seriously worried I would get...

    ARCHIVED Ulcers?

I have had in the past and have now suspected ulcers which they think were due to all the damage I have done eating gluten. No mention of Crohn's as I haven't any of the other symptoms. My son has Esophagus ulcers due to gluten as well. So yes - entirely possible its caused by coeliac.
