  1. Hi all. I haven't been here in a while. I called Kroger a few months ago about the "natural flavors' in their ground beef and was told that it is rosemary oil. We also eat a lot of their products.
  2. Hi melgag21. I searched Charcot-Leyden crystals and found this: Open Original Shared Link Charcot-Leyden crystals are formed from the breakdown of eosinophils and may be seen in the stool or sputum of patients with parasitic diseases. The crystals are slender and pointed and stain purplish-red in the trichrome stain, as shown in this image. These crystals...
  3. Hi Brett31m. No, you are not alone. This is a good place to come and vent. It is a good idea to take snacks with you when you go out. As for foods, Tink'yada pasta is very good, homemade mashed potatoes should not have any gluten in them, I boil potatoes, drain, add milk, butter, salt and pepper and use my hand mixer to 'mash' them. You can also add garlic...
  4. Hi CruiseWriter. Could it possibly be the latex in your panties?
  5. I use chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, ground cumin, ground oregano, paprika, cilantro flakes, ground(cayenne)red pepper (just little of this), salt and pepper and a little cornstarch for thickining. I don't measure, just add small amounts and taste. I use the same seasonings for chili. This is Alton Brown's taco seasoning: Open Original Shared...
  6. I posted this last year:
  7. Hi zoogirl. We like Udi's bread and baked goods, Tinkyada pasta and Van's waffles (they also make regular waffles so make sure to read the package). I have had good luck with gluten-free Bisquick for pancakes, garlic cheese biscuits and peach cobbler.
  8. What dairy or non-dairy are you putting on the pebbles?
  9. Hi Debbie. With positive blood tests, even if the endo. biopsy is negative, he needs to be gluten-free. As for the reactions he is having, it is hard to say if it is an allergy or celiac, it may be both. Does he have milk with the cereal? Have you tried the cereal separately to see if it causes the same reaction? (I know it is hard to eat that cereal dry...
  10. Hi anna34. Also D, E, A & K Celiac tests Anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA) both IgA and IgG Anti-endomysial antibodies (EMA) - IgA Anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies (tTG) - IgA and IgG Total IgA level Deamidated Gliadin Peptide (DGP) Antibodies, IgA & IgG
  11. Hi shayre. Withdrawal Consumption of gluten triggers production of exorphins, which are opiate chemicals with similar results as endorphins---promoting feelings of calm. -in some people, gluten and/or casein can mimic opiates, such as morphine and heroin. When these foods are removed, intense cravings and even drug withdrawal-like symptoms can result...
  12. I have not been to all these places but heard they are good. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link The Outback in Roswell at 655 Crossville Rd., Roswell GA 30075 (770) 998-5630 is the ONLY location in the US offering exciting new gluten free menu options. These include beer battered coconut shrimp, french fries (or cheese fries), Bushman...
  13. Hi MURILLO. Pathology The classic pathology changes of coeliac disease in the small bowel are categorised by the "Marsh classification":[60] Marsh stage 0: normal mucosa Marsh stage 1: increased number of intra-epithelial lymphocytes, usually exceeding 20 per 100 enterocytes Marsh stage 2: proliferation of the crypts of Lieberkuhn Marsh stage 3:...
  14. Hi costellosfriend. Yes, you do need to be eating the equivalent of three to four slices of bread a day for three months. Are you still eating the gluten foods? I might suggest that you get tested anyway and see what the results are. If they are negative you could try to gluten up again and then get re-tested. Could you take some info the the Dr. to show...
  15. On the suave website I typed wheat in the search bar and only two hair gel products came up. I am currently using the captivating curls and I like it. I have been using suave shampoos and conditioners for many years. The reason I am using this one now is because they stopped making the brilliant brunette.
  16. I, personally don't think two weeks is long enough at all. Most people here recommend a three month trial and then adding gluten back and see if there is a reaction. The weight gain will be different with everyone though. If you take gluten 100% out of her diet you might see some positive results within two weeks. My son is nine and has been gluten-free...
  17. Hi Cloelke. A slightly positive blood test or biopsy is a positive blood test or biopsy. Do you have copies of your tests? Posting those results can help. As for being careful, you do need to be very careful. You will have to eliminate it completely to be able to see if it will help you. I believe it will since you do have positive testing. Most companies...
  18. It is recommended to have your own pots for gluten-free because the gluten from other foods can be stuck in scratches and seams. You should only need a couple of pots for your foods. And a pasta strainer. Cookie sheets can be lined with foil to prevent CC. You probably need to get your own condiments, things that a knife are dipped into, and mark them as...
  19. Hey ya'll! Just wanted to let you all know that my son in law is being deployed today. He is a marine. For those of you that pray please pray for him. Their baby boy is due the end of May. Originally he was supposed to leave in June, now he has to miss the birth of his first child.
  20. Welcome to the forum hannahm. Do your parents also eat gluten-free also? Do you share the same toaster, cookware, baking pans, cutting board, nut butters, jams, mayo, butter, etc.? If you are you could be getting cross contaiminated (CC) by the foods that they eat. Do your personal care products have gluten in them? If you are eating a lot of gluten-free...
  21. Hi jennlmar. Do you know what tests for celiac that the Dr. ordered? I ask because sometimes they do not order all of the tests needed to diagnose celiac. Celiac tests: Anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA) both IgA and IgG Anti-endomysial antibodies (EMA) - IgA Anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies (tTG) - IgA and IgG Total IgA level Deamidated Gliadin...
  22. It is possible for you to be intolerant, which is not the same as an allergy, to something else. I would stay away from dairy to start with and then if nothing changes maybe take soy out too. If in fact you do have celiac disease, then your villi in your small intestine are damaged and by cheating you have continued to do damage. You have to be 100% gluten...
  23. You need to get your Vit D levels up if they are low. Low D can cause fatigue and a host of other issues. Do you know what your levels are? Your Dr. can give you an Rx Vit D to get the levels up faster. I have gone through the low D and it ain't fun.
  24. They make cereal bars too. Open Original Shared Link
  25. Hi ship. The Dr. who did the biopsy may have missed the damaged areas, damage can be patchy, or maybe didn't do enough biopsies. Since her blood was positive you should try gluten-free and see if it helps her. Can you list the blood tests and ranges for your children? There are many people here that are very good at understanding the results. Also to make...
