  1. How do you know what you had was DH? Was it biopsied? Did you have Celiac blood tests? Dh is Celiac disease not its own separate disease. Its possible you don't have Celiac at all?
  2. I'm not sure what you have. Durum and spelt are wheat.
  3. Lucky you! At least you know you are more than just a pretty face.....you have something in your head besides fluff! Maybe a little laugh?
  4. I wish we could go to the store with you. Would be helpful to have someone steer you in the correct direction the first few times you go to the store. Show you what almost never has gluten, what almost always has it. You will get it soon. But you can never just pick something up without glancing to make sure the ingredients are the same.
  5. What does that even mean? What an idiot!
  6. This thread was handled and dormant until someone opened it back up yesterday (?). We are now responding to the new " guys" posts. We do not discuss any disciplinary actions that may or may not have taken place with other members on this fourm. Not sure if that answers your question or not.
  7. Open Original Shared Link I have not tried these or seen them, except my friend posted a pic on FB of her bag & the words on the side that say gluten-free. It appears Pepperidge Farms is making Bake Goldfish Puffs in 3 flavors and they are gluten-free. This is the same friend who told me about the Glutino poptarts so her taste udis have a good track...
  8. I don't have DH and reading the DH threads makes me itch! I don't know who you have helped on here. I'll have to see if we can extend the number of letters in our screen names to fit "The member formerly known as squirmingitch"
  9. See if he will do an endoscopy at the same time. He can take samples and check for hernias & ulcers, too.
  10. I can't find the one I saw last night that said 50%. Open Original Shared Link "For many people, following this diet will stop symptoms, heal existing intestinal damage, and prevent further damage." If it was 90% unhealed, I would think they would say for a few people. I'll keep looking.
  11. Did you know one of the rules of this forum is to have a reliable source to support facts that are not common knowledge? Please share this info with us. I believe the Univ of Chicago says its about 50% which includes all Celiacs - those that are not very careful as well as those that are careful with their diets. I will look now for that link and post...
  12. Maybe you could give her some info about iodine and DH. Maybe she needs to watch that for a while?
  13. Seems like Mrs Dash used to say gluten-free on it? Maybe they have changed as they wait to see what the law that may or may not get passed says.
  14. Since there are no reliable tests for gluten intolerance other than eliminating it and seeing what happens, I am answering about Celiac disease. It is hereditary but not everyone with the genes for it develops it. You could test negative today but become positive at a later date. Editted because it didn't really make sense. Got to stop letting...
  15. You make the potatoes this year. (you and I seem to be on a soup thing today!) Open Original Shared Link
  16. We like the no added salt ones the best.
  17. I like this brand. they seem to be widely available. I get them at any grocery or Target. At Thanksgiving, my grocery gets the turkey stock. http://www.mccormickgourmet.com/Products/Kitchen%20Basics/Original-Beef-Stock.aspx
  18. I doubt antibiotics gave me Celiac. I rarely got sick and only ever had small amounts of antibiotics a few times in my life (after wisdom teeth out, etc). Not sure where you get that info about antibiotics and candida being the cause of Celiac. Could you provide some reliable resources (actual medical researchers not someone selling a product)? Here is...
  19. I drink wine and my repeat antibody tests are fine. I would think that the major Celiac Centers and organizations would warn us if wine was not safe for Celiacs. Open Original Shared Link
  20. Autoimmune diseases tend to like company! Seems like if you get one, you are more likely to get another. Open Original Shared Link
  21. Well, then you are also aware that we already " fought back" and handled the ones that needed it. I use the word " disease". That seems worse than an allergy to most people.
  22. In that case, take it up with your local health department. They govern this sort of thing and tie a restauruant's hands.
  23. All this is beyond what you posted about originally and I feel you are just reaching for something to try to make your point and have to use " old news" to do it: A mom deciding to give a kid McDonalds is against her Civil Rights is hardly a Supreme Court ruling also discussed widely at the time of the event The article you linked to was discussed in...
  24. Originally, you were just talking about a 2-3 hours without "food". Though I'm sure they had snacks you could have eaten & soft drinks, wine or water you could had to drink. I have been to all day events that do not allow outside food. I have contacted them well in advance and nicely explained my problem. I did not try to bring in foods or drinks...
