  1. If that is what I thought the Affordable Care Act was about, I would want to read some reliable sources about it as was suggested above. And if i still believed it is about rounding people up and forcing medical treatment on them or denying people treatment because they didn't get something checked out within some " standard time frame", I would be writing...
  2. I bought separate pans. But the old ones were 20+ years old. Now guess which pans we use all the time? The gluten-free ones as we seldom cook anything not gluten-free. I think the only old stuff we use are a cookie sheet for frozen pizza or cookie dough (teen & 20 yr old I'm not a teenager) and a grill pan for occasional pancakes or grilled sandwiches...
  3. I think you may have misunderstood. Perhaps it is mandatory that insurance pay for the mammograms? I don't see them sending out the police to round everyone up who didn't get a mammogram.
  4. You are not the only one. When did you first notice this?
  5. I have fed many Kraft marshmallows to many giraffes as a child. They never killed a giraffe yet!
  6. Open Original Shared Link Would taking steroids cause the blood tests to be inaccurate? Yes, but only if you have been taking steroids for a prolonged period of time.
  7. I think they have one of these Texas ones in SLC.
  8. I think these may be the official marshmallow of Celiacs! Many of us use them.
  9. I remember reading about them. What i remember :They aren't made at the donut store and wrapped, they are made in a gluten-free factory, wrapped and shipped to the store.
  10. If you want to be tested for Celiac, continue to eat gluten.
  11. I have the same problem with aspartame, too. I though of another- mimosa!
  12. If you don't tell a restaurant that you need food from the gluten-free menu, they won't know. they may have different chicken for the gluten-free salad or handle it differently. Actually. the notion that blue cheese has gluten is not valid. I find restaurants go by that old info. It has been many many years since common blue cheese was made with a...
  13. Red Robin is very good with gluten-free. If they said the dressing was gluten-free, it likely was.
  14. Wine coolers are usually a malt ( barley) based beverage. A lot of places have hard ciders. I have never seen one with gluten and most even say gluten-free on them. If you want a couple of drinks, you could order something like a shot of rum and a diet or regular coke with some lime. Pour half you rum in your first Coke and half in the second. I know...
  15. I looked this Texas de brazil up. They are in a lot of places. Some of these grills don't have any gluten bread - just the traditional cheese bread made with tapioca flour. Report back on here after you eat there, please. Edited: Duh! You said you would!
  16. The Brazilian Steakhouse concept seems to be a mostly gluten-free one. So people who don't have that one in their town, might find that a different company will work well, too.
  17. Blue cheese is safe for Celiacs. Not sure who made your salad? If it was purchase somewhered, that may be your problem. It is possible Blue cheese dressing might have flour in , I guess.
  18. Actually, in my opinion and experience, puberty isn't exactly about control. It's about independence. It's about having control over themselves and their life and making some choices for themselves. Letting mom make all the decisions isn't puberty. Being afraid she will get sick or die if she leaves mom, isn't puberty. I can see this mom doesn't like...
  19. I think W8 has a sense of humor. If not, I have wasted some of my best material!
  20. This is Arlene....Not me!
  21. Puberty - they want to separate from their parents. Maybe you could goggle the mental effects of a child with a chronic illness. I like how Tarnelberry phrased it as an explanation for why you need to see someone. I'm sorry. I'm only pushing this because that does not sound like normal 9 year old behavior. You even said that she used to like to do...

My OB/Gyn insisted I go to my primary care and get a Celiac blood test. He didn't want to but since she insisted, he did. They called me and said it was positive and have a nice weekend.

Obviously, your doctor didn't tell you anything. A diagnosed Celiac cannot eat any gluten. You will accidentally get some in your life but you should never try to eat any. Open Original Shared Link A lifetime commitment The gluten-free diet is a lifetime requirement. Eating any gluten, no matter how small an amount, can damage your...
