  1. I just looked , briefly, at it and the main company. If that had been around when I gene tested, I would have done that. I didn't think my health insurance would pay for my DNA test.... but they actually did by going thru my doctor.
  2. If you are going to pay that much, why not just get it done at a reputable lab near you? I think mine was about that much.
  3. You might want to say what country you are in. That can make a difference on what is available
  4. You might want to get some clarification. If it's serum IGA or total IGA ( no ttg attached to the name) it means nothing. A simple explanation - It is a test that is used in Celiac testing to make sure you can make " IGA"s that they are looking for with the test. A few people can't make them, so they need to use the IGG version of the ttg test. It should...
  5. Have you had any re- check for Celiac? Are you anemic or vitamin deficient... something like that?
  6. I think you need to see a doctor. Not everything is related to Celiac.
  7. Did you have a Celiac blood test before going gluten-free? I think I would insist on talking to the doctor and say " why are my villi flat? And why didn't you biopsy those areas? Because if it isn't Celiac, then we need to find out why they are flat. " or I can come with you and say that for you! Lol
  8. Have you read this section yet? You will want to get a new gluten-free only toaster and colander. Maybe get a different color and have that be the color of gluten-free in your house. don't rinse fruit in your old colander if you used it for gluten pasta. Of course, he will need his own PB or butter tubs - you know there are always crumbs in...
  9. Barilla makes a gluten-free pasta that is corn and rice - we find that holds up well and would taste good with the goulash. I find the Tinkyada pasta to be a bit too soft - but its good if you like soft. Jovial makes good pastas. gluten-free spaghetti seems to stick - so stir while cooking. I like to make the Chebe brand crust - it is a Brazilian...
  10. There is some correlation between people who have Celiac and are not gluten-free and metal health issues. I am assuming you are gluten-free. It is also possible to be depressed or have mental health issues that have nothing to do with Celiac. Either way, if you are very depressed, please get help immediately. I think it is great that you are telling...
  11. I am going to disagree with some of this. First - for a Celiac, it isn't important if all beauty products are gluten-free, just ones that might be "eaten" - hand lotion, lipsticks, etc. Gluten does not hide out in a body. It is either broken down or passed on thru, just like any other food. So, even for a constipated person - it will be out of your...
  12. That is not a Celiac test. So I am not sure how you know you don't have Celiac. A lactose intolerance is quite common side effect of Celiac
  13. So... you were diagnosed with Celiac last week? Are you also diagnosed with the low acid/enzymes? Celiac is really a disease of the small intestines not the stomach.
  14. Why were you put on this? Did you get tested for Celiac first?
  15. The "Fasano diet" is a diet that is used for people who do not seem to be responding to a gluten-free diet. This is done before resorting to medications that have their own side effects. I am sure you probably did that for a few months. You may just have not heard of the name "Fassano diet". Dr. Fassano said at a conference he was speaking at that...
  16. I have to comment on this -"You cannot have DH without Celiac Disease. It stands to reason that if the DH is gone, so is the Celiac, because Celiac drives DH. " While it is true that you cannot have DH without Celiac....you can have Celiac without DH. Getting the Dh under control does not mean that Celiac is gone. You still have Celiac and, from all...
  17. This might be helpful https://celiac.org/live-gluten-free/glutenfreediet/gluten-medication/
  18. Would just wipe it out, turn it upside down, etc. maybe run a couple of gluten-free waffles thru it and you can eat them.
  19. How about a celiac blood panel first? it is cheaper than an endoscopy.
  20. You wouldn't go gluten-free for 4 weeks and then test! She didn't understand.
  21. As a treatment for Celiac disease? The treatment for a celiac disease is a gluten free diet. That’s it! That’s all! That's pretty " alternative"
  22. How do you know a wine was made with wheat paste on the barrel? That is such a rare occurrence and most of us can’t afford the few that do that.
  23. The cheddar biscuit! That might work.... as long as Mom buys the ingredients. ( and she / me would) Lol
  24. Hey. Would these be a good non- sweet biscuit? My son and his Celiac friend are always looking for a nice biscuit to put gravy on or dump chili on. They use the gluten-free Bisquick now but it's only "OK".
