  1. Try this thread : Also, breakfast can be anything from hard boiled eggs you made two days ago to left- overs from dinner
  2. I have tried to explain that the US has a law, that if there is wheat in a a food, it must say "wheat". Therefore, an app that says a product has wheat and it is not listed on the ingredients, is wrong. Or you are saying that the company is willfully disobeying the law? And you seem to say that if this ap says it's gluten-free but the ingredients list...
  3. I don't know how this " ap" decides what is gluten-free and what is not. Apparently it is wrong if it says there is wheat in a product that doesn't list wheat in the ingredients. It may just be reporting that some companies, who do not test for gluten, will not declare something gluten-free. That does not mean a product has gluten. The most accurate...
  4. What do you mean " scanned"? If it has wheat, legally they must disclose that in the US and Canada on the package, in English writing, that anyone can read.
  5. It's Ok. We don't get a lot of teens and sometimes they need a "grown -up " to help.
  6. One reason for an " official" diagnosis would be for your kids. If you are diagnosed with Celiac, they should blood test your kids every two or three years. Also, if the kids have symptoms, they are more likely to think of Celiac. This might spare them several years of suffering and not growing, etc. Otherwise, you don't really need a diagnosis to eat...
  7. My old blender did that. I let the strawberries sit out of the freezer and start to thaw and that seemed to help. I freeze bananas when they start to get mushy. I break them into pieces to freeze. They mix better in pieces ( when they are frozen). Also, make sure you add some liquid, that helps. I make a big batch & freeze it in portions in...
  8. Sinus? Allergy related? The alien implanted monitoring device has shifted?
  9. My son, M, must have sent you a note. He wants a smoothie with kale. He had a sample at WF when the health class went. Kale is one of the best foods for you.
  10. I add lemon or lime juice ( from a green bottle) if I want my smoothie more sour. I usually use OJ for the liquid.
  11. We do love our snacks! She was asking for low fat ideas! I looked at the Welches fruit snacks 80 calories. All the Betty Crocker ones are gluten-free and say so on the box. Similar calories, I would guess. I thought of some more: A Baggie of Cinnamon or Chocolate Chex? Cheese stix? They have individually wrapped lower fat cheddar ones...
  12. How about fruit snacks? We like Welches. I thinks it's 80-100 calories a pack. " tangy" is the favorite flavor. Says gluten-free on the bag. I have seen small snack bags of Kettlecorn at target here in KC. You can eat a lot of Jelly Bellys jelly beans for 100 calories. These are not super healthy choices,, but If you want a snack that looks like everyone...
  13. I would use gloves for dyeing. My stylist does and she doesn't have any problems with the ingredients. Your " numbers" for Celiac are normal? Then this may have nothing to do with Celiac. Your red and white cell counts go low with activity? My thoughts are that this is not Celiac related and you might need to see a " blood" doctor ( hematologist)...
  14. This sounds very interesting. Can you roll it around fillings? Or split it open like a pita? Or just use one on top & one on bottom. I'm also thinking about adding herbs or maybe cinnamon and sprinkling with sugar at the end? Do you think any of that would be good? Also, about how many frying pan sized breads did you get?
  15. " gastroenterologist said something confusing". This is a class they take in Med School. He should look at the small intestine while he's got you cleaned out and knocked out. Take at least 6-8 biopsies while he's there. I think he should look at the other end, too. Check out #8. & copy for doc. You can find similar info on Univ of Chicago...
  16. But this place can be a revolving door. Maybe some who didn't post preciously would like to add on? I saw something that said that the biggest group of Celiacs are from North African descent. It was a reputable source but, I can't find it again! Not sure even what they were counting as N. African descent.
  17. You might find this older thread interesting: They way people come & go on here, you should get some new entries.
  18. No. there are no "degrees" of Celiac that allow you to eat gluten. From some of the experts: "The gluten-free diet is a lifetime requirement. Eating any gluten, no matter how small an amount, can damage your intestine. This is true for anyone with the disease, including people who do not have noticeable symptoms." 19. No! You did a good deed! That poor woman needs to know!

The Betty Crocker likely says gluten-free on the side of the box
  21. Is it possible he just needs some time to heal? Any chance he could have caught a bug from all those people?
  22. If you have read other posters stories on this forum, you would realize we do understand the "magnitude of this rare disease". We object to the inaccuracies and completely incorrect info that was presented on Dr Oz.
  23. Probably not dry wallers leaving thier lunch in the walls then. If they are too fast for you to swat, hit them with a spritz of hair spray. ( gluten-free of course). Good fun as it sticks thier wings. We have animals going wild here, too. We had 3 crows attacking our yard bunny. The bunny was standing on her back legs swing her front legs at the crows...
  24. There's probably some food in the walls. We made a hole to run a phone line and found sandwich wrappers and soda cans. Apparently the guys that did the dry wall like orange soda!
  25. You can totally enclose them in foil but they taste better with some BBQ sauce in the packet. See foil dinner suggestions in my link. Also, what Doug said. You can also get a piece of metal to cook fish on that sits on the grill. That might work, too.
