  1. When I complained to Walgrree's, they acted like that. All concerned and said I should be helped and to talk to the pharmacist. Well, it was the pharmacist that said they a rent allowed to have Internet access or make long distance phone calls. That is blocked. And more than one Walgreens told me that. When I told them I was talking to the pharmacist...
  2. Drats! Tho we have had some discussions of whether certain other types of lotions with flavors and protective devices were gluten-free.
  3. But she's not taking it into the home, or eating it infront of them or eating it in the car. It sounds a bit controling on the family's part that she can't eat gluten when she isn't home. Unless they are rifing with her, they wouldn't even know she had the Lean Cuisine or microwave pizza.
  4. On salads that come wioth the dressing, hide a crouton or a piece of the breadstick that was on top in the bottom. IF there is one in the bottom when they bring you a fresh salad, call the manager.
  5. I tried to find this Altoid thread. I used the google, and there are a lot of Alroid mentions. All the ones I had time to look at had only the G rated useage of the little mints. One made mention to another thread with other usages. I ran out of time.
  6. I agree! I would think her family buys food from a grocery. Or TP from a Walmart. Do they wash every bag and package before they take it in thier car?I suspect the family just wants to guilt the OP into eating gluten-free away from home. Perhaps they suspect that's for the OP's own good?
  7. Possible the biopsies missed the bad spots. if 25% of your small intestine is " bad" you would feel awful. Every biopsy he takes has a 1 in 4 chance of getting a bad spot. If he did 2 biopsies, he probably missed it. Get a copy of the procedure report, blood tests and pathology ( biopsy) report. Read them yourself. Sometimes docs don't know what...
  8. You may have had those food sensitivities all along and the Celiac masked it. It's like someone hitting your foot with a mallet.....you don't even feel that paper cut on your finger anymore.
  9. The hot dogs were likely fine as most or allmost all in the US do not contain gluten. The grill could be an issue. If they have cooked buns or soy marinated stuff on it. My mom' s potato salad should be gluten-free but she drains the potatoes in the same colander she has drained pasta in for 25 years.
  10. You need to call before you bring the meds home. Most pharmacies won't take back the meds, it may not be legal. Even if you get the doc to prescribe it again, your insurance has paid for the ones you can't use and won't pay again. IF you have gotten a pain med, they can't give you anything more in the US. And you get into the system as a "drug seeker"....
  11. Walgreens won't or " can't " check. They aren't allowed to make long distance calls or use the Internet. That's what I was told. So I call before I pick up, find out the manufacturer and sometimes they give me some drug number. They give me a phone number if they have it, otherwise, I have to search the Internet. Then I call the manufacturer. This...
  12. We probably get our $50 back on Gatorade & Sunny D savings! Partially, we have the membership for entertainment perposes. My hub can wander and be happy for an hour in there. Also, Costco sometimes has stuff you can't find at regular stores. Costco has great prices on nice dog beds. I have taken a dog rescue lady there so she could get some. ...
  13. To the OP, Jordan, Corn syrup is gluten free. Don't let that post worry you. Most ice creams are gluten free , read the ingredients. Obviously ones with Oreos or Kit Kats are not gluten-free. Look out for malt or barley malt, too.
  14. Don't we always tell people that pure and natural foods are safest? Homemade whipped cream and chocolate sauces are they way to go. If you are dairy free, can you make whipped cream from coconut milk?
  15. Really? Thats great! Ours doesn't let you do that exactly. I can bring a friend, but I pay for her stuff. I can even get her stuff on a separate receipt. But the money or credit card has to be from me. Basically the same thing. Just a technical maneuver.
  16. Jason, Maybe you don't actually have Celiac? You have had some nasty intestinal critters. Perhaps you have finally healed from them?
  17. See if you can have a guest pass to look around. Then mark down the prices on the stuff you would buy. When you get home, figure out how much cheaper it was from where you usually get it. And how often you would purchase it. Do you save the $50 over a year? For example, if you buy watermelon at SAMs and it's $1 cheaper than P.C. And you will eat ...
  18. I don't want to spoil the fun, but I bring my own colander. It's rubbery and collapsible. I just don't see how they get the gluteny sticky pasta out of the holes. Maybe she could even get a plastic $3 one for you? This is much nicer than the one I have. Mine is like this but on a handle/ stick. Its not as big as a regular colander. Open Original...
  19. Yum! She can do dairy. She just can't do anything green ( unless it's a mint dessert). Cukes are really white when you take the offensive green peel off.
  20. I just figured that if you were determined to do this, this is safer then those $500 ones that go for a week or a month.
  21. I have seen several doctors on TV say that just water, tea and lemon juice for no more than 24 hours is a good cleanse. But that was based on the fact that the average person, in 24 hours, would have emptied everything out. I don't think doing this once would be harmful for most. I just worry that someone reading this would try to do it weekly or even...
  22. I guess, if you feel you need to do this, you could just do the standard colonoscopy prep. Its cheap and obviously works or they couldn't do a colonoscopy. Just don't do it repeatedly. that is dangerous and damaging. This is the one my hub was given and it seemed to work well. COLONOSCOPY PREP 1 MIRALAX PREP Purchase over the counter: ...
