  1. Haven't tried them but they just look like a vitamin. They couldn't possibly have more than a drop or too of veggie in each capsule, logically. So I wouldn't see them as a way to get veggies into a kid. If you read them, they just say they take the nutrition of 17? Fruits and veggies. So sounds like they put the vitamins you would get if you ate the...
  2. Sorry you married a jerk. But sounds like you knew that when you married him? No point in trying to help you educate him or expect him to "get it". Sounds like he really only cares about himself and he did before your health issues. You can keep him if thats how you like to live. That is certainly your choice but please don't expect that to be a healthy...
  3. Here's another thing 1974girl reminded me of. I got a binder, sheet protectors and some dividers. If I like a recipe, I copy it and put it in the binder, safe behind the sheet protector. I had a heck of a time trying to remember which cookbook or website a recipe was on. I can make notes on the page, like "needs more spice" then "1 tbsp of cayenne,...
  4. When I took Yoga many years ago, the teacher said that jumping makes people feel happy. IF you look at little kids, when they are happy they jump, hop, skip around. Don't know if its any different from any other exercise, but its working for you. That's the important thing.
  5. You could get colored duct tape. Stick in on everything that is safe. At my house, if it has a red tape on the butter tub, no one else used it without permission. Same with PB, etc.
  6. Dinner doesn't have to be a big production. Have something on hand that is quick and easy. Or plan something easy for a couple of nights. We have snack dinner which is cheese, crackers and fruit. At your house you could figure out a different one like crackers, celery, fruit & sunnut butter. Grilled chicken, salsa, corn torillas, rice, etc. Rice...
  7. It's pretty simple: read ingredients. If it has any of these, you can't have it: Wheat Flour( unless it says rice, etc) Rye Barley Malt Barley malt Versions of wheat like couscous, spelt, durum, einkorn /celiac-disease/forbidden-gluten-food-list-unsafe-ingredients-r182/ The most important part is to read the ingredients. Wheat must be listed...
  8. Hey! Bribing the mods, while an Excellant idea, is off topic! I think the of a list of things to do when upset, is a good idea. So would be a special treat you could keep as needed.
  9. I just thought of the total calories. At an average of 100 calories a slice ( averaged the two whole wheats my family had). That's 1200 calories in bread. You really couldn't eat anything else in this diet!
  10. In the US, if it's made from wheat, it will, legally, have to say so.
  11. I had a hard time......Wait! What were we talking about? As I got better physically, I tried to work my brain. I would talk to myself my dog to work on words. I did different puzzles on the computer. I think it helps. There are memory games, too. Or just try to memorize a list of something - state capitols, presidents, countries and capitols...
  12. If I ate like that, I probably would lose weight. I'ld be soooo sick! Seriously, even for a person with no gluten problems, it doesn't sound safe.
  13. Can you heat them on a plate or parchment paper? I never heard of these. Now I want some!
  14. We'll be in Monterey or SC most days. The boys have to keep busy.

    ARCHIVED A Journal

    Maybe the blog section?
  16. Modified food starch is gluten free unless it says wheat. MSG is gluten free.
  17. I'm asking because I want to learn and I find it appalling and rediculous that they would have different ingredients for things that seem the same. So...I looked at the cans on the website because you reminded me of them. I thought those might me good for my boys coolers while working outside ( lots of potassium ). The cans just say apple concentrate and...
  18. I don't have a corn issue but don't they come in little soda type cans? I think we used to get those. Edited: I miss read.... I thought you said you thought there was only a gallon size. The other sizes aren't corn free?
  19. Perhaps you are confusing the CYA statements of "we don't spend the extra money to test so we won't say it gluten-free?"
  20. We haven't completely firmed it up yet. Probably at a place called Pajaro Dunes. Its about between Monterey and SC, on the coast at Watsonville.
  21. Thanks Janet. We used to eat at 2 fish places on the wharf in Monterrey that's are out of business 20 years later. One used to be Mark Thomas Outrigger & is now the Fish Hopper (?). It was a great place to sit at lunch and see the otters. Do you know any pizza places that are trustworthy? Or any that have really good gluten pizza for the boys if hub...
  22. Here's the link for all of the fruit snacks. Says gluten free. Still, for me, one or two packs are OK but more sort of sits like a lump in my stomach. Our favorites are the Welch's tangy. Open Original Shared Link
  23. Don't those say gluten-free on the box? I have bought them for the food pantry gluten-free shelf.
  24. I think trying to induce hypoglycemia in yourself and go by a home test could be dangerous. This should be something doctors understand and can help you with. There is also a possibility it is something else.
  25. I had a mixed terrier that would carefully lick the dressing off of lettuce. My dog will eat gluten-free pretzels but he prefers the boys "real" ones.
