  1. I thought it would be nice to make a thread to keep all the cold salad & salad dressings recipes in one place. If we had this before, I didn't find it, but we could combine them. If someone wants your recipe in another discussion, post it here. If there is a dressing you want to make, ask here & someone will have it. I'll start with this yummy...
  2. here's the link to when I went. I think the recent univ Studios thread was for Florida not CA.
  3. I don't think there is gluten-free food in the " restauraunts". Maybe bags of chips, sodas and candy. The frozen lemonade was good in the heat. There was another thread not to long ago about that area. I think there might be a place we could eat in the " city" area outside the gates.
  4. We went a couple of years ago to univ Studios. They let us bring in food. I had a soft sided lunchbox cooler and left it in a locker by the front gate. We all wished we had brought food. It was so busy, lines for food were 1/2 hour. My boys ( not gluten-free) left the park for the city area to get food. Hub settled for a 15 minute wait for ice cream...
  5. The Wheel Drive-in in Sedalia, Mo served a Goober Burger. They put peanut butter on hamburgers.
  6. We are having 100+. The boys are working in the firework tent so they are fully enjoying the heat.
  7. These people are the " experts". They say a small amount starts an immune response. If you want to understand the immune system better, in order to understand thier statements, you can get books from the library. Like a basic high school or college Anatomy and Physiology book. If you are questioning the validity of what the Celiac Centers, who study...
  8. I gave this, impersonal, non-emotional & credible link at the beginning. Here's a pertinent excerpt: "The gluten-free diet is a lifetime requirement. Eating any gluten, no matter how small an amount, can damage the intestine. This is true for anyone with the disease, including people who do not have noticeable symptoms. It can take weeks for antibody...
  9. Thanks. I knew someone would have this.
  10. Might be something she ate. My hub ate some " black" colored corn chips and got scared when his poop turned green. Lots of other things can cause it. If its from a food, it should go back to normal color in a day or two.
  11. My understanding is that the grass in our lawns is different from the rye made into bread. Even if any grass to seed, you aren't likely to eat it or get it in your food, etc. The only time I can remember having grass in my food is if I was sitting on the grass eating. I haven't seen any reputable Celiac organizations that have warned about the grass...
  12. It has gone down 2 degrees to 105 so off to M' s lacrosse game. The field is artificial do it should be hotter than grass. They have sprinklers for the grass edges which they will turn on and make the boys get wet.
  13. my oldest alwys dipped carrots in ketchup. My dad will eat broccoli if he has cocktail sauce or BBQ sauce to dip it in.
  14. My neighbor's porch thermometer, in the shade, 107. That was an hour ago. Could be hotter now as 5 is about the hottest time. If it weren't so hot i'ld go over and look.
  15. My hub & 1 son put PB and maple syrup on pancakes.
  16. Hebrew National should be. To be Kosher, they can't mix meat with milk products. Check thier website, they might list ingredients or explain that milk and meat can't mix.
  17. In the US, if it contains wheat, they must list it. If it contains malt or barley malt, they will list it because it's a premium ingredient. Once in a while, a nut will have a flavor and list wheat - like a nacho cheese flavoring, for example. I eat nuts from planters, even the honey roasted. But I always read labels. You wouldn't have much to eat...
  18. If they are in the original bottles, I would think that would be even better. The problem with airport security is it is inconsistent. I have had a kid accidently take a gatorade in his bag and no one caught it. Then I have had them stop to look at other, allowed things. I try to be prepared for anything.
  19. Ok. Stop.. Take a deep breath! What tests have you had? Have you had any Celiac tests? Is there a reason they would think you have an eating disorder? Did you have one before? Do you worry about the size you wear? Excercise more than most people? Have you had your thyroid, vitamin ( iron, ferritin, D, Calcium, B12) tested? Have you had any illness...
  20. How often is it Ok to eat rat poison? Would you believe some experts over some doctors that do not know anything about Celiac? These are just two. There are more you can google. Celiac info Open Original Shared Link The gluten-free diet is a lifetime requirement. Eating any gluten, no matter how small an amount, can damage your intestine...

  23. He makes fun of you, is rude to you and your family, gets upset when you don't do what he wants. & his family is just like him....gosh! I can see why you love him! For your mental and physical health, you should stay away from people like this.
