  1. I liked your name, too.
  2. Our neighborhood garage salws are more of an exchange. Somethings I got from some neighbors a few years ago, now going to other neighbors. Fascinating to see what was donated. Like a bunch of toliets. Probably even more fascinating to see what sells.
  3. Love it! Sounds like stuff is moving around the island to a new home.
  4. Celiac info Would she believe some experts? You can find more. Open Original Shared Link The gluten-free diet is a lifetime requirement. Eating any gluten, no matter how small an amount, can damage your intestine. This is true for anyone with the disease, including people who do not have noticeable symptoms. It can take weeks for antibody levels...
  5. For those who have been following Diana, they will have read several times that her husband was not supportive of her doing what she needs to for her health. She can certainly change her name on here.
  6. If you are allowed or can sneak time on a computer and see this- I'm sorry. That's a very scary way to live. I hope you can get help when you are ready for it.
  7. Two Irishmen walk into a bar and ask for some lemon bars with powdered sugar and a lovely Polish girl, sitting nearby asks....Man the coolers, boys?
  8. Cerave. Somewhere on this forum I have posted thier email. All thier products are gluten-free.
  9. My grocery keeps the gluten-free Betty Crocker mixes with the others. above the flour. I don't worry, but I do try not to eat anything or wipe my mouth until I can wash. When I used to buy flour, there was always flour on the outside of the bag. Might be why it's usually on the bottom shelves?
  10. Popsicles are probably fine. Find out what kind they have. But be specific what the exceptions are. Only 1 or 2. It's magnified the number of kids there. Because she's so young and new to this, I would say nothing you don't send. Send a box of Popsicles for her.
  11. You have left it to thier judgement to decide if something is safe for your child. If that doesn't work for you (& it probably doesn't), then tell them not to give her anything you don't send her with. Gluten free or not. Its really all or nothing. It will be less confusing for the child to know not to accept anything, too.
  12. Irish is making lemon bars for all of us in the backseat of her car.
  13. "Now, tell us more about being adept at backseat maneuvers...um, on secong thought, never mind. " You posted this while I was trying to eliminate all that nonsense about the lemon bars to get to the real important part!
  14. Messy things, like cupcakes, can be eaten outside. Then the kids brushed off, guess where? - outside. I learned this from a lady wih day care in her home. Those kids ate outside if the weather was at all good (between 45-100 degrees, no lightening, etc). The kids liked it, too.
  15. You might notice that "Gary" came on here only once and it was to make this incorrect post.
  16. There is gluten in a lot of grain. We sort of use the term wrong to mean only those in wheat, rye & barley. There are different "gluten" proteins in different grains. https://www.celiac.com/articles/8/1/What-is-gluten-What-is-gliadin/Page1.html
  17. This is great! Last year the sorghum looked great in the fields. The corn crop was a total loss! Should benefit the farmers and us!
  18. Welcome! Glad you are finding something that helps. I hope they did the Celiac blood work before you went gluten-free? My son will be a sophomore at CSU this year! He loves it. However, he and his friends are devastated by the High Park Fire damage. All the favorite CSU handouts for biking, hiking and camping are destroyed. Some of his friend that...
  19. You are probably just getting more exposure to little crumbs. Maybe there are ways to minimize the spread of crumbs and amount of touching you have to do. Here are some thoughts & some are things I do but my kids are older. I think a 5 year old could help. ERC: Eliminate gluten foods as much as possible. Reduce Look for lessmessy gluten...
  20. Get an actual copy of the blood test resulformula Dec and now. I had something go up on my blood work and the doc thought it was because I was still eating gluten. I wasn't and when I got a copy, it had nothing to do with Celiac. He didn't know what any of the tests mean. The other thing is: are you reading the ingredients on these items your doc said...
  21. The univ of Chicago Celiac Ct sent me a post card to see if my family members wanted to be tested. It said a regular gluten diet for the last 3 months. This plasma thing- even if you get a positive blood test, wouldn't you need to eat gluten and keep the antibodies up? At least until the first plasma draw? Maybe. Until he tests are completed? You...
  22. Yeah! Celiacs have taken over tennis, now the pole vault. Next - the long jump ! ant then, it's just a short hop, skip and a jump to take over the triple jump!
  23. Just wanted you to know that that post you are responding to is almost 4 years old. The poster hasn't been on this forum for over 3 years.
  24. My son's friend from Vietnam eats fried rice often for breakfast. They take leftover plain rice and throw it in a pan and scramble in some eggs. I buy turkey or chicken spinach sausages and cook them all. Then freeze them. They need 1-2 minutes in the microwave to defrost. Grilled cheese? PB sandwich or toast? I make these and freeze:
