  1. It warms my heart to see someone is listening to me! I have a slightly different take on this, this time. I think it is wrong of a company or a boss to insist that spouses must come to an event. I am not the employee. What I eat or how I talk or look or think, should not effect my husband's job performance. Very few jobs really need a spouse's participation...
  2. You will probably get answers from, maybe, 10 people. That really isn't enough to give you valid " mathematical percentages". Why do you feel you need that?
  3. I find these polls annoying. Many times the answer choices aren't what I would answer. For example: Question one: I need the answer: I and my dog do not like them. If you want to know something, just ask in a polite, friendly, uninsulting manner. Many people here are happy to share thier experiences.
  4. Good! Thibk of the screaming this way - I used to work at a children's hospital. Healthy kids yell, or cry or at least say "ouch!" Its very sad to see the kids that don't even blink when they are getting more blood drawn (second time today...100th time in 2 years).
  5. Oh Raven! I'm so sorry about your dog! We can't walk with you but we are still here for you.
  6. I was just looking for meatball recipes myself, today. I'm sure your " balls" are yummy! Bacon & BBQ sauce! Go to the upper right corner. Put meatballs in the google search. I found a variety of recipes and substitutions for the bread crumbs in gluteny meatballs.
  7. Happy face magic? Hit edit and look at your post. A letter b and the ) is the symbol for that face apparently
  8. People with Celiac are 1 % of the population. Many companies will not want to go to the expense of reformulating and testing for 1 % of the population. It is their right to choose to have gluten-free food or not. If the grocery store has policies or products or anything you don't agree with, you do not need to shop at the store. Laws are different...
  9. Would be nice to have more mainstream gluten-free cereral but I don't see how a Celiac Society can force a store to change the cereal. Nor do I see how it is wrong for a company to make a cereral with malt as long as they aren't mislabeling it as gluten-free.
  10. Do you know the old joke - " Doctor! It hurts when I do this!". Doc - " Then don't do that!" Stop chewing gum of any kind and see if it stops. There are artificial sugars that are hard on lots of people ( even non- Celiacs). Also, the act of chewing makes the stomach start producing acids to digest the food that it thinks is on it's way. If that...
  11. My hub and my 18 yr old son have these finger cracks. They have abused their skin. The 18 yr old heals quickly with Cerave cream. Hub has been to a dermatologist for this several times. She said he has dried the skin out for so long that it has damaged the skin. She gave him some anti fungal lotion first, then he would dampen his hands and put the Cerave...
  12. For me, it's the cooked apples and the cinnamon. I have never liked the crust. I make homemade applesauce with lots of cinnamon. You could just cook apple slices with cinnamon and a small amount of brown sugar. Even a can of apple pie filling heated up if the crust isn't important. Whole Foods and other health food or groceries that have a big gluten...
  13. Betty Crocker/ General Mills takes gluten-free very seriously. If you have questions, look up " Betty Crocker gluten free". They have a phone number you can call with questions. Really, for questions about how a product is made, the best source is usually the actual company and/ or their website.
  14. I asked some kids that work at one. They aren't allowed to practice on a cone & waste it as well as the practice ice cream. They practice on a lid, then throw the ice cream out. I know if the Health Dept caught them putting ice cream back in the machine, they would be shut down and it would be published in our local paper.
  15. There is stuff they put on the skin to numb it before they put in stitches or IVs. The doctors office should know.

    ARCHIVED I'm Back

Hi Nate! Welcome back! Sorry things have been bad. Hopefully, you can get it worked out for the kids. Enjoy your health!
  17. Raising chickens sounds very similar to raising boy humans.
  18. I don't know about cake flavored. Maybe it's like the pie flavored yogurts. A local dairy told me that, in the beginning, they tried to put pieces of Graham crackers to get the crust flavor, but that didn't work. They have a Graham cracker flavoring they use and it's just a gluten-free chemical flavoring. Maybe there is a cake flavoring? Most ice...
  19. Good point! When I left, they were in a box on his bed. So were the un-assembled shelves.
  20. J's classes start on Monday. We ae going Labor Day weekend to bring his.winter clothes, etc. Did you see the pics on FB of the decorating style? It is Target Bag with a touch of Walmart bag and beer boxes! He did say he put his sheets on his bed. Didn't say it it was before he went to bed last night or after he got up.
  21. Hopefully, the people doing the stick do children often? That is the first thing to think about. Second, don't take the husband. When he gets upset, it shows LittleGirl that there is something to be upset about. Make sure she is well hydrated. Extra drink every day for the week before. My SIL draws blood & says that is helpful. Maybe something...
  22. J is moved into college. We spent a good part of the day, getting all the things we couldn't bring from home! The dorms are really nice and large for a dorm room. They can raise the beds so that stuff fits under. He wanted shelves to go under the bed. Does he want expensive wood shelves? Cute plastic or painted wood cubes? The "dorm" shelves and plastic...
  23. Going by this now! Not much wind Open Original Shared Link
  24. Glad your not with us! 680 miles would take twice as long. We have places where the rest stops are about 1 hour apart. Someone once planted wheat here and there is a bunch growing on the side of the road! Not a good place to potty!

    ARCHIVED Kansas Doctor Needed

I am just now driving past Salina on 70. Taking a kid to Colorado for college. Don't know what's available, sorry. HyVee have a lot of gluten-free things, usually, but the closest one is Manhattan to you. The original poster posted 5 years ago. You might try to personal message them as those may be connected to an email. Click their picture and...
