  1. Then you would not believe the variety - soft ones, ones that are attached to the under shorts and the big mondo ones that you can wing a Lacrosse ball at from close range and feel nothing. The trick is to train them early. He started helping at 4. Younger bro at about 1 1/2 cause he wanted to do what big bro did.
  2. Do companies honestly believe we can just call up the doctor anytime and ask them about a product? Do they honestly think a doc would even know? Another of the things to ponder when you can't sleep.
  3. Em! I think we are living parallel lives! My mom is going home from her nursing/rehab home this week, too. And in-laws coming. I know your mom will do better than mine. Mine just had a hip replaced but as she has an electric chair, I doubt she will walk more than a couple of steps once she is home. She only does the work when the PT makes her. The...
  4. Good point! I want grandkids someday....in the future...way in the future.
  5. I would have said, "Can you?" or "I will if you will"
  6. My DS usually does his own laundry anyway but will not let me do the various cups. He wants to be sure they don't twist up in a dryer. I believe the sturdiest one is mostly washed with a little Febreeze.
  7. Probably not gluten-free. A lot of lipsticks put wheat in them for silkiness or shine. Try to email and call the company.
  8. Good for Mark. Glad he was not hurt and able to play hero. Some people freeze up when faced with an emergency.
  9. This was on thread a few weeks ago. I wrote to 711 because on the web site some flavors said contain gluten or wheat. Some flavors had no nutritional info at all. The response was that 711 did not know what is in the Slurpees. I know that some of these iced drinks have a base and then the flavor of coke or cherry is added. I don't remember where but...
  10. And we thought it was a raccoon that ate my son's PB cookies at camp! The creature chewed thru a cooler. What is this creature's name?
  11. At least mine will not be staying at my house. Just a plain piece of smooth dowel rod. I suppose you could also use cookies, nuts, chips, wine but the stick was lower calories.
  12. My lovely FIL and wife are coming back into the country to "settle things" in thier house here. They expect we and other son who lives in town will come help them put a 7000 sq foot house's contents in storage and will take the things they don't want and be grateful for them. They have been out since Nov but left pantry items as well as most of the furniture...
  13. Sniff! Sniff! I can't remember the last time anyone made a cake for me... Seriously, I think it was 1990.
  14. Yes, please keep us posted. We are extremely nosy and love the gory details. . (OK, that's a joke). Hope you get some help soon.
  15. Sounds like you're having some fun. Post a pic of the jewelry when you make some. I wonder if we have those classes here? I might like that.

    ARCHIVED Vitamin D

I did. I think a lot of us have. Take your supplement and feel better. I know of people who are deficient and don't have celiac disease. We don't get it in our diets and we don't go in the sun without sunscreen. Also, in most of the US and Canada the sun isn't intense enough many months of the year.
  17. That's the type of article that after the first 2 blatant grammar or fact errors, I don't read any further. You know it's not written by someone you would want to take advice from. (bad grammar but this is a conversation not a "news article.")
  18. I think I recently saw a recipe for biscotti somewhere...maybe here? Search and see. Also, at our library, you can search and then request gluten-free cookbooks. If they have lots of recipes you like you can buy them or just copy a couple of recipes. Gluten free baking by Rebecca Reilly.
  19. Connie, Almost didn't recognize you. You changed your picture! Heres what I have decided at my house: Touching flour isn't bad, getting it under your nails and not getting it washed out - bad. Gloves - good idea. My main concern is the flour in the air. When you mix it, it always flies up and can take a while to land after circulating around...
  20. Some Labradoodles are showing up in rescue around here. You'll get one when the time is right.
  21. I think when people say try to eat "unprocessed" foods they mean simple stuff. Stuff without a lot of processing steps before you get it. The more steps needed to make it, the more likely it could be cross contaminated. Stuff without a lot of different ingredients, espcially ones you couldn't or wouldn't use. Example: Chicken broth: If the ingredients...
  22. I asked where you live because of the different types of pollen. Here around now or in the next few weeks, corn pollen can be big in the air. I know a few people that have problems with it. When I lived in Sacramento but worked up in Placerville, pine pollen was big. I know it bothered people and my dog. You might email the local TV weatherman and see...
  23. Still love this bread...
  24. Why do you think of air borne wheat? Where is it coming from? Any thoughts from the doc's on what is causing the allergic type reaction? Not doubting you, just trying to help you investigate. Also, if you dont't mind - where do you live ? And is it city, suburb, country?
  25. My Cooper has big floppy ears and large feet but fur not hair. I was determined to get a light colored one and a girl. Got another black boy dog. Eh! Didn't get him for me, got him so my then 12 year old would not be depressed. It worked and he's sweet.
