kareng replied to stacieb's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hey did you go gluten free? And, I would think that feeling like that, you would speak to your doctor. Lots of reasons to feel that way. -
ARCHIVED More Product Updates
kareng replied to eeyor-fan's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
These posts are from 2005 to 2010 a Celiac must consume gluten to have a Celiac reaction. Technically, you could roll in wheat flour and be fine - as long as you don't swallow any. Open Original Shared Link -

Shared facility is not the same as shared equipment. Sometimes a shared facility is actually another building on a larger " campus". If they state gluten-free, maybe ask them about what testing they do? I don't usually worried about shared facility in a company that claims gluten-free in the US. If it's not gluten-free, they can be in BIG trouble. ... -
ARCHIVED 4 Year Old Celiac Panel Test Results - Help Understanding
kareng replied to NHMom1016's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Different labs could use different units of measurement. But " high positive" " super high" - sounds like Celiac to me. When the tests are slightly positive, they can be from other things. They may want to scope him to make sure there are no other problems and see how bad the damage is. -
ARCHIVED Can Gluten Intolerance Be Connected To Pancreatitis?
kareng replied to lmrf's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
You are responding to someone from 2008. "s if your pancreas is good, you can even tolerate a gluten pizza once in a month, belive me." As this statement goes against what all the Celiac centers and doctors say, you need to provide your sources to this new and incredible discovery. Or at least give us your CV and some info about your clinical research... -
I don't know what that was about either? I have always thought our new service was a bit off. We get the same article that is "reprinted" word for word 6 times but miss the real news stories. it is Celiac Awareness month in the US. But I think we have posted 1? article. There have been at least 5 different ones I have seen this month...

Have you priced some of this food out? You will be a small business, so you probably won't get huge discounts. That vegan cheese can be expensive! Also - insurance, permits, spaces you could actually park and sell - sometimes they aren't in a good location to get the customers who would appreciate your food. You might want to see if your local community...

I don't know what you drank or where.... so here are a few thoughts. - sure, a dive bar might have dirty glasses and serve a cocktail in a beer glass? But a nice reminder place, with a dishwasher, should be fine. If it's a sketchy place, Stick to wine, then it's served in wine glasses that aren't used for beer or bottled ciders in the bottle. ... -
ARCHIVED ???
kareng replied to M-SMOOTH's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
They are gluten-free. Did you use butter that might have gluten crumbs on it? For me , it takes more than 2 hours to feel the effect of gluten- maybe something you ate before? Maybe stomach virus? -
Here is a link to a good explanation below. Some people go a bit overboard with the " what ifs". Even , on the rare occasion the stuff is made from wheat oil, and it has a stray molecule of protein.... then it is .05% ( maybe less?) of a whole 4 oz bottle of lotion- even if you drank the whole bottle- it isn't enough to gluten you. http...

They are very highly refined and should not contain gluten. If you aren't ingesting it, it is safe. You could roll in wheat flour - if you could keep it out of your mouth. i stay away from stuff with obvious wheat -usually wheat germ oil. But I know Celiacs that very carefully use hair products with wheat germ oil for thier curly hair...

In the rare instance that "modified food starch" is made from wheat, it will say so in the ingredients or Contains statement. If you wonder what it is made from, email or call and ask. I think its usually corn or potato Progresso is part of a large company. they would not label something gluten-free unless they know it is. Its a law in the US and...

ARCHIVED diagnosis through ultrasound? is this possible
kareng replied to kertail's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
He may need to make a diet change for his diverticulitis. But you can't diagnose Celiac that way. If it were me, I would try another doctor. Is one doesn't sound very good. Open Original Shared Link -

ARCHIVED How to cope with my sister's diagnosis with lack of testing
kareng replied to silky-chicken's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It appears that gluten make her very sick, right? So, calling it Celiac is fine with me ( a fully diagnosed Celiac) as long as she lives like a Celiac. as for the " gluten allergy" comment. The doctor is correct about filling out medical paperwork. There is no place to note " Celiac" and have it mean much to your care in the hospital. Put... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free, but is it Really?!?!
kareng replied to RaRaLorna's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
T Ok....you said correct you....lol i am assuming US. It can be a bit different in different countries. The US law does not require actual testing....but, your food must be <20 ppm. So, most big companies that say " gluten-free" on the package are very sure of that fact. It is a legal nightmare for them if the food is tested and not...
