    ARCHIVED Celiac And Time

Many persons, it seems, are never dx'd. and gluten free doesn't need to cost more, unless you insist on subbing all the calorie laden junk food with gluten free calorie laden junk food. whole grains other than wheat, rye and barley (oats, too) are out there. Or just go grain free. Good luck. And I certainly don't mean to quash your vent! Need to get...
  2. 1) See if your doc will give you the dx of celiac with the family hx and relief on the diet, prob. not, but wouldn't hurt to ask. 2) Yes, celiac has a genetic component. 3) Celiac and Type I DM have genes in common/both autoimmune diseases. Not so uncommon to see them in the same person. 4) Thyroid issues, again, autoimmune, not uncommon to see...
  3. Open Original Shared Link only used in IgA def persons. wonder if it is fairly new?
  4. If you are gluten free, the testing will likely be negative.........
  5. coveralls, several pair. I don't know that much about wheat harvesting, but i wouldn't think the point was to crush the grain? If it isnt crushed/ground/milled whatever, how is it a problem?
  6. have you been tested for protein malabsorption and kidney disease?
  7. yup, casein can be the same, so i have heard. Get outside in the sun, and move around; as you are able.
  8. don't know the ranges in europe...looked up AdCal, all it is is extra strength Tums with a very small (read:barely worth the bother of) amount of Vit D3, made by a pharmaceutical company! 750mg Ca++ and 200 IU of D3. and if you are sensitive to soy, you should not take. Albumin is a protein in the blood, do you commonly suffer from swelling? are you protein...
  9. unlikely to be a problem, it would have to "get in you" in some way....if you didn't eat it, and it wasn't crushed in some fashion, unlikely. probably just vacation/different routine etc.
  10. the problem with this thought process is that it took a supplement to get you to normal, what is going to happen when you stop?? good luck
  11. if you are active duty military, a dx of celiac may well get you mustered out on a medical discharge. If they actuaully took biopsies of your small intestine, and didn't throw them out already, they can be reread by someone else.
  12. Sesare....you know my fear about this doc!...be aware, if they involve CPS that will mean trouble for all the kids in the household, including the one that you are carrying. I would get him seen and measured at your peds office, ASAP! and never set foot in that GIs office again.
  13. chocolate is on the list of tyramine containing foods, which includes red wine. hard cheese, flat beans, vanila, citrus fruit, peanuts...hmm and there are more.... so, perhaps the hard cheeses wouldn't be the best idea. good luck
  14. the test measures B12 and B12 analog. If you want a better measure of sufficiency, get a MMA or homocysteine level done, if either is elevated, you need B12.
  15. what was the number for the transglutaminase?
  16. If he were mine, he would be gluten free sooo fast his head would spin! at nine, perhaps he is old enough to understand the potential problem, and give it a good try? During the summer, so school wouldn't be involved. Do you really want to look him in the eye at 17 or so, when he is stalled out at your height, and say we "shoulda"?

    ARCHIVED Blood Tests

you are on the low end, but perimenapause is not out of the question.
  18. if you are available with little warning, call the GI and get on the list to be called in case they have a cancelation.
  19. contact the lab that did the testing and ask what the "AMD" means.

    ARCHIVED New Ally

thanks, I have a hearing deficit, was thinking it might be related....I don't get a migraine from small amounts of most things on "the list" so eat them just not a lot, or together.....have wondered if this has been the cause of my issue, but so little self discipline when there are no obvious symptoms! wishing you well.
  21. This makes no sense, they did a serum IgA, but give you reports on IgG.....and no report on the deaminated IgG.....in other words they are lying to you, if you want to fight with them to get the full testing, give it a try, otherwise i wouold find new doc, I certainly would have trouble ever trusting this office again.

    ARCHIVED New Ally

Since I am a tyramine sensitive migraineur, I am VERY interested in the connection between that and your vision! PLEASE share as much as you are comfortable with, TIA.
  23. Have you been tested for diabetes? not just a fasting glucose, but a 3-5 hour glucose tolerance test, with insulin levels?
  24. separate condiments, ie, butter, peanut butter, gluten free mustard, etc saying that is there any possibility of purposeful contamination?
