  1. Have a cup of strong tea or coffee. Caffeine is also helpful for migraines. Excedrin migraine is tylenol, aspirin, and caffeine. Good luck, hope you head it off!
  2. First, don't go gluten-free until you have had all your celiac testing done! This is really important! You must be eating a normal amount of gluten for the tests to work. Once you have had bloodwork and possibly had an endoscopy and biopsy, you can go off gluten. To answer your original question, it's rather rare to find gluten in tomato sauce or spaghetti...
  3. What I'd like to see is the 10 ppm standard as applied by GFCO. I get sick from Amy's, who is putatively manufacturing to 20 ppm. I have never gotten sick from a GFCO certified food, and plenty of companies seem perfectly capable of manufacturing to those standards. I told the FDA this, and am praying they'll listen.
  4. Don't worry! We are fixable. I have had only one week-long manic episode since fall of 2006 and I'm pretty sure it was a Hashimoto's thyroid flare-up, because a hypothyroid depression followed it that was treatable by increasing my dose of thyroid.

  15. Sorry, I totally misunderstood you! Once you start absorbing things like iron and calcium, you'll be absorbing selenium and iodine too. It can help to be sure you're getting the US RDA of both, but not a lot more. The absorption improvement part of why people's thyroid function tends to improve gluten-free.
