wheeleezdryver replied to love2travel's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
not canning, but I dehydrated close to 15 lbs of bananas last week. (we won't mention how much of that has been eaten already, not will we mention by whom...) I may also be dehydrating some other things within the next week or so, possibly. just curious--- has anyone here ever dehydrated onions? I haven't, and that may be one of the things I do soon... -

ARCHIVED Always Feeling Cold
wheeleezdryver replied to Katrala's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
yep, caused by thyroid issues for me, too. But it has gotten a little better over the years. At least now I can actually start sweating while working out. (assuming, first of all that I am ABLE to go work out-- but that's a completely different issue.) And I don't seem to keep my coat on quite as long as I sued do when I'd come in from outside during... -

Just make sure the beef jerky is gluten free... many times, especially with teriyaki flavored beef jerky, it's not (has soy sauce added, which usually has wheat in it) -
ARCHIVED Diarrhea On Period. What Gives?
wheeleezdryver replied to GFreeMO's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
yep, same here for me since I was in my mid 20's. It made for a nice change from chronic C the rest of the time (I would usually only have the D issue once, the morning my period started). Although, now that I've been gluten-free a year, I've noticed I haven't really had the D during my periods like I used to. and my C the rest of the time seems... -

Was finally, able to go to the gym today, after not having gone for 1 1/2 weeks. Had a good workout-- just did about 20 mins on the elliptical. and the arm machine weights- had to go back to the lopwer weights, but that didn't surprise me. even though I stretched well beforehand, and didn't push myself, my legs are sore-- can definately tell I hadn... -

I was only able to work out twice last week. Just basic workouts, not C25k. Been pretty tireed the last couple of weeks-- or, i should say, more tired than my normal... hopefully I will be able to do more this week, esp since my husband started back to school today, which means he will be out of the house during the day at least a couple of days. I... -

I agree, it sounds like you also have fructose malabsorption. along with honey, and some fruits (i know apples and dates give me problems), also some vegetables (onions, for example), garlic, and brown rice are things have fructose in them. unfortunately, a lot of gluten-free items use brown rice (especailly pasta items), onion, honey, or fruit, but if you... -
ARCHIVED Questions About Starting Workouts Again

I was feeling a bit better today, but not up to doing intervals, so I did 1 mile on the elliptical (about 18 mins) and 1/2 mile on the bike (about 15 mins). timewise, probably spent about the same amount of time as I did on last Monday's C25k workout. I also did arm weights again today. NoodleUnit-- stuff like that is no fun! Hope it gets feeling better... -

i ended up having a not so good week. (I hate pre- PMS, PMS, and all that jazz) Tuesday all I could do was 10 mins each on the bike & elliptical and arm weights. Just saw the end of this story on the noon news, so went and found it online. The only thing I didn't really like was that they seemed to exclude non celiac gluten intolerant people. and there are a lot more than 1% of the population who can't eat gluten. I'm going to have to find out where that pizza place is-- I've never heard of it. (Smokey Mountain... -
