  1. I have no advice, but I just wanted to send you, your family, and especially your mom & dad lots and lots of {{{{{hugs}}}}}. I hope the x-ray tomorrow will reveal whatever it is that is going on!!
  2. friday, my 'workout' was going for a walk around our apartment complex w/ my husband and going across the street to Sonic to get their 'half- price drinks' during their 'happy hour'(me pushing him in his hospital wheelchair) saturday ended up being a pretty busy day, and at one point emotionally and physically draining. For exercise, I did 10 mins on...
  3. this sounds good (and I don't think I have any/ too much problem with any of the ingredients), so I'm gonna have to try it!! Thanks for sharing!
  4. Totally agree with you on that!! I've only been to PF Chang's once (mainly b/c it's on the other side of the city & when I'm there, I don't usually have time to stop at a restraunt, even if it's to pick up take out (for the particular area our PF Chang's is in, being as it's downtown, it would mean parking my car elsewhere & walking)... and that...
  5. Thanksthat should help! i'll have to have a good look see at the grocery stores around me!
  6. Did Week 4, day 1 on the elliptical today. Man, was it a [good] workout!! I started sweating like less than 10 mins into it (the gym was also a little warmer than I would have preferred, so that probably had something to do with it, too), and boy, did I have a good sweat going during the rest of the workout! Today was also the first time, I think, that...
  7. where do you find saffron at? I've never been able to find it (but then again, I've only ever looked in the spice section of regular grocery stores). Someone gave me some once, so I know what it looks like, and I know I liked it when I used it.
  8. thanks for the warm welcome here, you guys! yesterday, I also did the machine weights for arms. First time doing that at this gym (in other words, it's been a while since I lifted weights). My arms are a little sore today! but that's good Greenling, I'm sorry to hear your mom has MS... that is a truely horrible disabling disease... but I'm glad...
  9. I've had a couple of their items, and have never had any problems either. (but I'm not as sensitive to gluten (reactionwise)as a lot of others are)
  10. Mind if i join in? I was a runner in high school, so I do have some back ground in exercising/ working out. Well, at the very least, i can remember how to do do stretches! but anyways, I quit running/ working out for a long time (way too long) and am just now getting back into it. My husband (who has a disability) and I just joined a gym across the...
  11. I just came across this thread... I myself am just getting back into working out (I was a runner when I was a teenager (please note I didn't say I was a very fast runner!!)... how are things going??
  12. with what I say, keep in mind i don't have a majorly noticable reaction to gluten. My husband has disabilities, and I too, will offer to get him something if I'm up. 99% of the time, whatever I offer to get him isn't gluten- free... when I have offered him something that's specifically gluten- free for me, he won't take it, because he knows it's expensive...
  13. I posted a blog here last year about talking to my bishop and what i myself do. I'll see if i can find the link to it in a minute. But, I'll go ahead and summarize- ( keep in mind I'm self- diagnosed, so don't know if I'm gluten intolerant or celiac) luckily, my bishop knew a little bit about gluten intolerance. But he did say, 'maybe you can tolerate...
  14. My DH loves to just mix it in a bowl w/ PB (kinda like the 'Goober' jam/ PB Smuckers I think does)... basicly pb & j w/o the bread
  15. Today is my birthday, and our original plans had to be scrapped due to car problems, so ordered pizza from Chicago Connection for lunch, and had leftovers for dinner . I got a gluten-free Hawiian(sp?) pizza... yum. And they also gave me a free gluten- free (pre- packaged) brownie--- i didn't even know they had them there! And a coupon for another free one...
  16. That's a VERY good one--- I'll have to remember that one! with my husband having a physical disability, I used to either get food for him first which ws okay with me... he is a slow eater, plus by getting his food first, I could see was available so I could know what I wanted to get when I went back for myself) or carry two plates and get food for both...
  17. the red bumps/ rash have made thier appearance... I apparently glutened myself good last week (with either Private Selection (Fred Meyer) ice cream or Fred Meyer yogurt, of all things....grrr...) my left arm (as I'm the car driver, that's the one that gets the most sun exposure), from my wrist to my elbow looks like 35 mosquitoes attacked it (so, I can kinda...
  18. Fred Meyer brand ice cream or yogurt is evil... had 2 cold sores 4 7 days, now have bumps/ rash on my arm :(

  19. yummm---ola!! I think I have all the ingredients for the fruity cheesecake one--- and that one would probably be perfect for the 4th of July! (and my b-day, which is also next week!)
  20. for years, every spring (when the days get longer, and all of a sudden our skin is getting more sun exposure) I would get a rash of red bumps all over my hands and arms. They were never itchy or painful, or anything like that. I went gluten- free last August-- this spring I still had a few bumps show up, but NOTHING compared to what it was like in years past...
  21. my husband for supporting me. and my family and friends, too. this wonderful website. Just about any time I have a question, I can usually find the answer here! Being able to get ingredient info online or via email from companies! healing. I am thankful for any day spent w/o mouth sores! all the local gluten-free products/ stores...
  22. it was a crazy evening at our house, so i picked up Wendy's... for me, i got the chili, then when I got home I added cheese to the chili, and also cooked up a baked red potato, to which i added margarin & cheese
