  2. that is awesome!!!
  3. same for me... used to get them all before gluten free, now pretty much only get them if I get glutened. I also have fructose intolerance, and don't seem to get when I eat something that aggravates my fructose issues
  4. That is great!
  5. Wendy's chili, and a leftover cornbread muffin that I'd had in the freezer since Easter.
  6. about 4.5 years ago, I developed Plantar Fascitits (tendonitis in the foot). It was another 2 years before I figured out my gluten intolerance. MY PF hasn't improved or gone away since going gluten-free, but I wear custom orthotics, so it hardly ever bothers me anyways. But I do think my PF, and all the other things I have (listed in my signature line) are...
  7. i agree with what everypne else has said! I just wanted to add, that after you do the test, even if the restults are negative, you should still give the gluten- free diet a good try. Many times people get false negatives on the tests. (and of course, go lactose free as well) Let us know how things go!!

  10. If it's mostly other people talking about food, and I'm either just listening, or just agreeing as to wether or not something is good (wether or not I actually can eat it), that doesn't bother me. okay, some times it does. Now, when the conversation is turned on/ to/ about me, then yes, that bothers me. Hmmm, gee, I just *love* having to tell people...
  11. keep a stash of gluten- free brownies or cookies in your locker in case a coworker ever says the 'healthy' type comment again, then if they do, go and grab something from your stash and make sure they see you eating it!!
  12. Hi from a fellow Idahoan & Welcome to the site! Was it a manager or an owner that you talked to? (and, if you can, would you mind telling me the name of the place, so I know not to go there. I live in Boise). Sorry i can't offer any help/ advice... I'm still new to all of this myself! A lot of people around here are pretty knowledgeable...
  13. I totally hear ya on the Oreo's... but I think the gluten-free version I've had (KinniToos, by Kinnickinick) are just as good, of not better.... but they don't have a double stuffed version (yet...) as far as butter fingers, are you referring to the candy bar? My understanding is that the Butterfinger candy bars are gluten-free... at least the regular...

  17. I was dx'd hypo about 8 years ago (had symptoms for at least a year before that). I just went completely gluten-free last Aug., have had no improvement with my thyroid so far. (as far as gluten issues, I am self diagnosed, so don't know if I'm gluten- intolerant or celiac). I'm also lactose intolerant and fructose intolerant (plus all the other stuff...
  18. Protien is a must for me. It helps me keep from feeling hungry too fast. For protien I will usually have 'fried'-- sometimes I will add cheese -- or hardboiled egg. Sometimes maybe a couple sausage links, or maybe yogurt or cottage cheese. Cereal- wise, I go for either one of Bob's Red Mill's certified gluten-free cereals (oatmeal/ steel cut oats...
