  1. there is another brand that was good - i want to say 'rice dream' ? i'll; look next time i'm at the krogers. it was good, too (they're little, tiny candy bars, barty - hardly worth mentioning - i don't think they have any calories....... )
  2. woot! i'm thinking of getting a new one, so i can break the old one - that is terrible, i know. the worst part is, if i suggest it to the hubs, he will jump right on board and we will be wrecking stuff lolz we are a pair of mess........ yeah, i just peel a shallot, onion, garlic, whatever and that thing makes it drinkable - i'm thinking of making spinach...
  3. ok, as soon as i finish my 'running away and hiding test' tickle test sounds ok so long as there aren't any test tickles those can get you in trouble!!!
  4. i have one of those, too, i loooooooooove it. it's also great for making your own salad dressings and chip dip. that thing will puree anything. i wish i had one just to play with and see what it will chop up before it breaks (omgosh. i think my husband is rubbing off on me...........) all dishwasher safe, which is great great suggestion, lori!
  5. HAHAHAHAAAA! that is freaking hilarious!!! gives 'buns' a whole new meaning!!! just when i wrote you off, larrymac&spootycheese - best regards, indeed lololz
  6. don't beat yourself up, sweetie! accidents happen, we are all human look on the up side: she likes broccoli
  7. lolz, barty, great minds and all that. no hershey syrup for you: it has corn syrup!!!
  8. i had trouble with chocolate, too - it was The Evil Soy & his cousin Soy Lecithin soy wonks my guts out. it isn't as long lasting as a glutening and it doesn't do gut damage but it will give me the big D and if i eat enough of it, it'll cause inflammation in my joints.... me and soy are not friends. in fact, the more i stay away from The Evil Soy...
  9. wait. what? lolz as a celiac sufferer, i am hearing: iodine + celiac = dh flare up. NO THANKS. stay away from me with your $4 bottle of iodine!!!!!
  10. i have been having trouble gaining weight, or keeping weight on. maybe someone has suggested this before, but there is an app i got for my phone that is called 'my fitness pal' - it's free (yay) turns out, i felt like i was eating a ton of food and not gaining but this thing calculated my recommended calorie intake based on what i weighed, how tall, etc...
  11. i had one that we were all getting ready to go on a trip, and i had all my food set aside so i could package up my cooler. my mom, who had been dead for years (and i miss her so much!) cut up all my food when i wasn't looking on the wrong cutting board! so, basically, yelling at my dead mom. yup i should probably get therapy lolz that was in the...
  12. awesome! in the beginning, there were good days and bad days, but as things started to heal up, there were more good days than bad days. i was surprised when the headache i didn't even know i had suddenly disappeared. yes, the waking up in the morning, lolz, instead of dragging around for hours!! glad you are feeling better. i remember i kept a...
  13. are you eating dairy? because, if your villi are damaged, you will have trouble digesting dairy until you start healing. automatic D. the tips of the villi is where the enzyme to digest dairy is produced, so if they are all flat and stuff, they don't produce it. if you aren't taking a probiotic, start taking them. i am still taking them 2x per day...
  14. food journal if you can't do an elimination diet - you might be able to see what your're currently eating and see a pattern. i had to cut out a bunch of stuff and then add them back in - except soy, which i still have a gluten-mimicking reaction to. but things like peppers, some cheeses, raw greens & veggies <they were ok with my gut as long as they...
  15. eek! what brand is that??!!
  16. now i want cheese dip! lolz!! yes, w8n4, if you shred your own cheese, you will know what's in it (just cheese, hopefully!) i have a shredder - my hubs! haha! i make an awesome pimento cheese spread - i have frozen red peppers from the garden, i put onion in it, usually cheddar, mayo, sour cream - everybody loves it (but hubs because he has to...
  17. bard's or new planet are the best i've tried so far. my beer store guy *gave* my husband a 6 pack for me to try of omission - he tried one (i wouldn't touch it! barley! danger!) and brought the guy back 5 hahahaa i used to drink redbridge - it was easier to find.
  18. no gluten. period. i know a few celiacs who don't follow a strict diet or they follow it loosely (just scrape the gravy off the meatloaf, it'll still be fine) and they pay the price. i asked one of them, "don't you get symptoms?' and he showed me his hands - all blisters/dh said that was a direct reaction to eating it. but at the next dinner we went...
  19. yesssss!! my hair is the longest it's been in a very long time - also, thicker it was always coming out and breaking off on the ends. lolz, i didn't even use conditioner today (because i bought shampoo by accident, so now i have 3 shampoos, no conditioner durrr... ) and it's still feels pretty good. yay!
  20. my cousin works for the girl scouts and she is constantly posting about cookies in gsc season like mamaw said: just get yourself a recipe - i'm sure they are a popular 'gluten-free copycat' favorite
  21. LOLZ you *are* evil! addy, we would be arrested if we ever hung out together if anybody ever asks me if i'm on the gluten-free diet to be (vegetarian, paleo, vegan, cleanse, <wthell, blah, blah misconception etc) I WHIP AROUND with clenched teeth and say "what. did. you. just. ask. me????" or...... "i traded in my chevy for a celiac...
  22. lolz - what? "it's not the h.i.v.,,,," sorry, i watch too many cartoons.........
  23. yes, there are many more ways to being gluten free than just not eating gluten. if your problem is gluten, you have to get it completely out of your system. that means separate cookware. eating out is a gamble and many restaurants are ignorant about the gluten free diet and may give you gluten by mistake. you have to go over the ingredients on many items...
