  1. i take mega dose of prescription D2 and it is delivered in soybean oil. so is the D3 i have taken in the past. have you had your levels checked? i only take d under a doctor's supervision/monitoring because it is dangerous to take too much.
  2. mmmmmmmmmmm! those look delicious that website has some additional recipes at the bottom - gorgonzola stuffed pork chops ??!! i thought i invented those lolz wthell my girlfriend is a hairdresser and she makes a comfortable living off of 'blue hairs' - she goes around to their houses when they get to be shut-ins. she actually saved one woman...
  3. yes, dude, that happened to many of us. my doctor was still scratching his head, telling me i was now so underweight that i would have to go into the hospital to be 'fed' - the celiac was his 'hail mary pass' last stab at what could possibly be wrong with me. i underwent various other tests to rule out what it wasn't (crohn's, cancer, blah blah) was advised...
  4. ok, test drove these things around the block a couple of times, then kicked it into high gear and mashed the pedal. so far, all the stuff that was giving me trouble (mostly raw veggies/salads, but a few other things, too) have been digested successfully. peach salsa, pico de gallo, spinach salad, some cheesesesesesss...... yay! a whole new world
  5. that just made me spit my drink LOLZ and i am stealing it, wordsmith last night i stuffed some shrimp w/crabmeat stuffing. spinach salad (YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! because it's ma fav-rit) with mandarin oranges, craisins, fresh mozz, poppyseed dressing (BRIANNA'S it's da bomb diggity) and almond crunchies addy - those tortillaland tortillas were...
  6. this is a very old thread. i would say the info is no longer reliable. if you are interested in current friendly's info, maybe you should start a new thread for updated info.
  7. (we have one) (thinly sliced finger, anyone? it's gluten-free lolz)
  8. right, lisa, i was glad these are not too expensive. you have to have one for every meal. on the upside, if everything evens out, i may cut back on the probiotics because i'm still taking 2 per day (1 am-ish, 1 pm-ish) now, those suckers are 'spensive eating 2 a day.... oh, and i totally agree: probiotics are also da bomb (and not in the explosive...
  9. i was so shocked! next time, i'm getting a BIG bottle. and take some in my snack pack backpack strap on the feedbag, ima eat it allll !! eggs = no prob, grapes = no prob, <two of many foods that have had me wondering if i should be giving up more foods. i am wondering about the soy but it's not a gastro reaction if i eat too much, it's more of...
  10. i have been meaning to try these, but kept forgetting to pick them up (they don't sell them where i grocery shop) FINALLY remembered to get them. you take them before every meal. they are my best friend. i thought, well, i'll just give this a test drive. holy guacamole, they work like a charm. everything is nice and quiet and niiiiice. i know my...
  11. i think you should see a doctor. if you think you want to be tested for celiac, do NOT go off gluten until you have completed all tests. you will not produce any antibodies if you are gluten-free before testing <something i wish my doctor had told me! my dx would have been much easier if my blood testing was positive. also, if not for any other reason...
  12. i eat boar's head all the time, with no issue. i used to have them clean the slicer every time i went to the deli, but then the other brand of deli meat that they sell was declared gluten free, so i don't worry so much. they didn't mind wiping down the slicer, though. the boar's head ovengold turkey breast (on udi's bread) is my "safe" sammich <for...
  13. maybe, if it's scratched. i don't use any of my 'old' non-stick pans (but mine are scratched as s#!t) stainless steel is my friend i keep the old pans around for the husband. he *needs* non-stick lolz
  14. and that doesn't mean that an individual doesn't have a problem with gluten, it just means that they don't have celiac disease. currently, there is no test for ncgi
  15. ummmm. no hopping for you, miss!!! i found some gluten-free 'raw' corn tortillas so it's play with yer food night. i'm thinking chicken tacos w/peach salsa.......... or something that resembles it
  16. well, you are understanding incorrectly. if you have the genes, it doesn't mean you will have it, it just means you have a predisposition. (that means you *might* get it) it's a genetic, autoimmune disease. you don't catch it from a toilet seat at the rest area...........
  17. before i was diagnosed with celiac, my iron levels were high, even when i wasn't absorbing nutrients. when people go gluten free, whether it's the problem or not, they tend to get meticulous with their diet. when they see improvement, they attribute it to the gluten removal, when i is more than likely attributed to eating a healthier, cleaner diet. good...
  18. well,, this guy is the leading scientific medical research doctor concerning celiac. so, you probably never heard of him
  19. lolz, just a word of advice: airport security was alll upset when i was carrying a bag of flour........... (brought corn flour back from new mexico) i thought they were going to cut it open like a kilo of prime columbian! i can't remember, but i think i had to open it...? airport adventures volume 5 chapter 37. lolz that is too funny! i grew up...
  20. right. just being clear, because the chiropractor himself couldn't prescribe meds. <which is kind of the point of getting adjusted without being dependent on pain meds) it's extra for the magic wand seriously, that guy was good.
  21. that is sadly hilarious and I bet they made a lot of $$$$ doing it the chiro I used to go to brought in a nurse practitioner (who can write scripts under another doctor's license) and now his waiting room is full of scumbags/pillheads. yayyyy............ I don't go there anymore.
  22. tonight, i'm just having 'skip' (honestly, I have been pigging out all day) so, it's 'skip' and beer, lolz, watch out last night, though, I made cod topped with balsamic bruschetta, buttered crumbs (ok, olive oiled, but buttered sounds tastier) and parmesan cheese. tiny, proud (translated: pricey little suckers!) fingerling potatoes, Brussels sprouts...
  23. (wheat paste to seal wine barrels = myth) (just sayin') that is a bummer your tests are inconclusive - there is one thing this diet is good for is: paying attention to what you're putting into your body you *will* feel better if you eat better. edited to add: if you don't have the genetic markers, you don't have celiac. are you keeping a food...
  24. WITH FREE SPAM??????????????? HAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. definitely makes you a better cook my sister is the office manager of a (not a chain) restaurant and they are doing a gluten free menu. sure, the ingredients are gluten free, but with shared prep areas and grill. she threw a fit, for like, a year, until they cleaned up their act. so, they finally went over everything and she told me it was safe...
