  1. Thanks for the info ya'll...I got some bourbon last night and made up the simple syrup for tonight's juleps--yum
  2. Jillian-- You can get severe flushing, constant facial redness in areas, small varicose-like veins in the face and also bumpy/pimply type areas on the skin. Go here to see some pics--they are pretty severe: Open Original Shared Link
  3. Derby time...That's right--aren't you a "southerner?" Oh and duh--just looked back up top of thread, where you say you are a southerner... oops
  4. France- Didn't know proactiv bleaches--kind of scary! I remember you mentioning the proactiv now Patti... I figured it probably wouldn't be good for my rosacea, but was curious, since mine is more of the pimply/bumpy kind vs. the flushing kind. Am going to see dermo #2 next week...just to get another opinion (not like it will change anything...
  5. (Judy HI!) I don't know much about whiskeys...the recipes I found for juleps called for bourbon whiskey...that's all I know. I tried to do a little reading...but didn't learn much If anyone has more info, I would love to hear it! Like I said, I used to love scotch...and would love to "replace" it with something. I wondered about Brandy...
  6. Well, I'm no pansy Ha ha! I don't drink much...but when I did have a drink or two scotch on the rocks was what I prefered. Like the straight stuff... Too bad the scotch days are over! Thanks for the input!
  7. I am going to make mint juleps tommorrow and was looking for a Bourbon Whiskey. Anyone have one they use? I know Dana lists them as being safe in her new book...but I still have to check on brands. E-mailed a few but haven't heard yet. Thanks!
  8. Patti-- Did you have rosacea when you used it ?
  9. Tinkyada pasta Enjoylife snickerdoodles and Nana's Banana bar cookies Envirokidz animal cracker cookies--can't remember name, say gluten-free on front of box Nutty rice cereal! Lundberg rice chips

  11. Ck it out friends--just ordered my 1st carton of Vance's !
  12. Thnx for the info! Haven't had pudding in a loooong time
  13. As Chrissy said--Celiac is not a typical wheat "allergy"...so a skin prick test will not tell you if he has Celiac or not. What other tests are you waiting on now? Grey-- Info on difference below I have posted before. Hopefully this will help shed some light: (I will add that although a food intolerance doesn't involve the immune system like a typical...
  14. Claire- That cookbook looks very cool. Thanks! Rosie- If you figure out those graham crackers--let us know! I would love to benefit from your experiments!
  15. ...I should better clarify my previous post. I did not have pernicious anemia...however pernicious and typical iron anemia can both be complications of untreated Celiac. The link I posted earlier is a description of pernicious anemia and lists Celiac as one of the potential causes.
  16. I love gluten-free Trading company--tons and tons of stuff: Open Original Shared Link Or gluten-free Pantry: Open Original Shared Link free.com/ or gluten-free Mall sometimes: Open Original Shared Link
  17. That's awesome Tiffany!!
  18. There is absolutely a link between the two. As has been stated here, anemia is probably one of the most common complications of Celiac. Typically, once someone with Celiac goes on a gluten-free diet, their anemia will disappear. However, depending on how severe someone's is...they may need "help" getting back to normal. My anemia had to be corrected with...
  19. Aren't there some seeds that have to be sown indoors than planted outside? Or is that just flowers? I haven't done many seeds yet...just plants.
  20. Mme- Thanks for all the info... I will have to ck out the cream version of the metro--the regular does seem a bit harsh. Any other foods you notice as triggers besides gluten or wine? My rosacea really started after going gluten-free I do use all natural cleaning products, so I'm good there. What are your homeopathic eye drops like--what's in them...
  21. Patti--still haven't ordered it! Hope to do it this week--was telling dh about it yesterday actually
  22. Patti-- I wonder if they were "too full"--which wouldn't make sense b/c the measurements are standarized...and it says 12 muffins...but they were so huge in baking, maybe they were destined to fall !
  23. I use various Kraft ones, and just got Paz's (think that's the name!) from gluten-free Trading Company.

Thanks Chelsea--good ideas. Sony would be fun! I was thinking about the CP zoo too--so you think its pretty good? For about 4 years from HS to college, my mom and I got to go to NYC once a year...but its been 5 or 6 years now since. We have tickets to Wicked, can't wait! My mom just wanted some nice cheaper alternatives too so we weren't spending the...
