  1. The first 3 weeks of my elimination diet I ate ground lamb, sweet potatos, peas, peaches and plain white rice and drank only plain water. Then I very slowly started adding foods one at a time in whole form and would wait at least a week before adding a new food to judge for a reaction (or not). A very slow tedious process but so VERY worth it.
  2. That is also my question. I have, when ill, fasted for 12 to 16 hours then reintroduced safe foods.Any longer than that the body starts breaking down muscle to burn as fuel. Counterproductive in my opinion.
  3. I put my colonscopy off way to long. I would suggest if you have ANY concerns of any thing else going on or if you are in your 40's I would say do and get it done and over with. but if you are in your 20's and feel confidant that celiacs is all that is going on with you by all means put it off until you turn 50
  4. The resent talk Thanksgiving reminded me of this thread. Today I am grateful that since I last posted in this tread my body has healed enough to reintroduce many foods. I am grateful that I now have more good days than bad. The damage from the ataxia may never completely go away but today I am grateful that I have not fallen or...
  5. So far the dinner menu for Thanksgiving this year looks like this: Oven roasted turkey Oven baked ham rice stuffing mashed potatoes home made turkey gravy ( using rice flour as a thickener but you also could use corn starch) candied sweet potatoes green beans in cheese sauce (again using rice flour to make the white...
  6. I do not feel it is a presumptive assumption. I feel it is the nature of forums such as these. Some come take what they need and leave, some come and find a home and stay but most eventually move on.Tis just the nature of this type of forum. As to success storys: many of our storys are like roller coasters, with many ups and downs. Some good days and...
  7. Yes And I would just like to add ; Welcome to these forums
  8. Almost exactly what happened when I had my endoscopy , The DOC did not see anything ( with the naked eye ) so he did not take any biopsys . What you do now depends on a couple of things; do you NEED an "official " diagnoses to be/stay gluten free?? are there symptoms that could be caused by other things?? What I did ( because I wanted...
  9. One of the first replies I received when I first started posting in these forums was "" we have to be our own best detectives"" I have found this to be ones of the truest statements ever written
  10. I agree that thyroid issues can cause brain fog and fatigue.Having your doc check your thyroid levels may be in order. Another cause of brain fog for me is my intolerance of soy.
  11. I have trouble with my liver function and when my bilirubins are high I have an EXTREME itch all over my body with out a rash.(Especially down there.. Before the doc's realized it was my liver function I kept getting tested for a bladder infection and they were always negative ) Just to note I also have DH , this is different
  12. mayo and Udi;s breads both contain eggs

ARCHIVED Saw My New Pcp Today..

my GI doc and my neurologist would disagree with her. bottom line for me;; if my PCP will not order the test I ask for or referrer me to the specialist I ask for I would look for a new PCP. I am 54 also and just received my "official " celiac diagnosis last May. In addition to my NEW PCP I also see a GI doc, a Neurologist and an Endocrinologist...
  16. I apologize if I sound negative that was not my intention.
  17. To be honest a list of ingredients would not be enough for me to buy gluten free product from you . I would also want to know the source of your baking supplys. Cross contamination is a major issue with some baking supplys so I would what to know if those ingredients were manufactured at a shared facility,or on shared lines, or in a gluten free facility...
  18. I kind of disagree ,, I dont think I am picky as much as I am careful. It has been a very VERY long hard road to know what I can and can not eat to stay well. I will not risk my health for a piece of bread. I do agree that I would ask ALOT of questions about your kitchen, suppler, baking practices before I would consider buying your products .
  19. Miracle Whip does have soy (soy oil) in it . I am intolerant of eggs . Of all the things I have had to remove from my diet Eggs have been BY FAR the hardest. I am gluten and soy free . I do not say that I am egg free even though I do my best to avoid them in my diet.I can tolerate very very small amount of egg in baked product so I will on occasion...
  20. this link is to a site that will help with your introduction to gluten free baking Open Original Shared Link Welcome to the forums
  21. Personalty I would look for a new doc if your current one will not order the blood test you are asking for or give you a referral to another doc. I went thru this with my former primary care doctor. Last year I became increasing ill. I asked my PCP for referrals to specialist (that my insurance at the time required) at first she refused, I insisted...
  22. I get sick from the flu shot , it is because I react to eggs, so I do not get them
  23. Every one is different, For me the list of symptoms is long, dizziness, anxiety ,fatigue, ringing in my ears, loss of balance ,headache ,brain fog and other neurological symptoms and also constipation
  24. One thing to consider : are your aching joints in any way related to your consumption of nightshades?? Potatoes can be inflammatory to your joints.
