  1. No,no. It'd have to be Sawyer ( that mean and moody attitude gets my vote)
  2. OMG, dahling that is soooo you!!!
  3. Having watched series 1 + 2 in the UK and being strangely drawn back time and time again I was disappointed to find out that series 3 is to be shown on a cable channel WHICH I HAVEN'T GOT!!!! ARGHHH!!! Sooo, thought I'd take a peek here as It's gonna be ages before it comes out on dvd. ----But what have I learnt off you guys??? Umm lets see...
  4. HI Deb When hubby went gluten-free we had high hopes indeed as he was desperately ill when finally dx. He was more than a little disappointed when after a couple of months he didn't feel any better, and I believe he had actually had coeliac all his life (dx at 40 yrs) so there was alot of damage to undo. Progress was slow, but bit by bit he felt...
  5. I LOVE Ren & Stimpy!!! Keep em coming....
  6. Well glad you think you've found the culprit-but commiserations on the chocolate...... Keep us posted how it goes!
  7. Claire and Kate ,just wanted to say hi as I'm in the UK! I'm not a coeliac but my hubby is (diagnosed 2 yrs ago) and my son was diagnosed last week! You've got lots of good advise already. but would like to add that it's really worth joining Coeliac Uk for the handbook of safe foods. I found it very helpful in the early days of hubby's diagnosis...
  8. My son was only diagnosed last week with celiac disease but he gets 'the hiccups' alot and they last for hours (really loud too!!) As he's only been gluten-free a week it's a bit early to say whether being gluten-free has stopped it but so far so good! .I'm sure it's related to his celiac disease somehow. I see on your list of symptoms you get boils...
  9. I'm not familiar with any of the tests but I found this at lab tests online for one of the tests run: Open Original Shared Link
  10. First of all welcome to the boards!! My son was recently diagnosed with celiac disease but he has no allergies Coeliac disease is an intolerance as opposed to an allergy. That's not to say alot of people here don't suffer from both but they are not mutually exclusive.
  11. Lonewolf - sorry about the hernia My friends hubby had his done a couple of months ago and it's popped (ouch!) and so has to have it done again.I know how much it got him down. ...Hope you tried the 'happy helmet' My son in particular loved it!!! Andrea - all the cake is gone now so it was a hit!!! I love your childhood kitty!!
  12. That's great Lisa,- hope your Aunty can help some
  13. Patti,We just had some family over- nothing big. Everyone made an effort though by bringing a G.F (highly expensive) goodies too. Susan, I think it would be congrats for my son ! (mixed with a slight wistful feeling for all the 'normal' foods he will never have again ) My kitty is holding on-but on borrowed time. The vet discovered he...
  14. Heck, I'm displaying such self control not opening your 'Lost thread' (much as I want to) I'm in the UK and the 2nd series has just ended- and I'm still none the wiser Me thinks the producers are going to string me along in series 3 too (patience, patience ) BTW - How do you like my first attempt at a G.F birthday cake for my son (who was dx...
  15. Indeed a possibility
  16. ..And soon please Patti, I want to see your fab new hair do!!! Wow,straightened, mmm so what did they do?? When I was in hairdressing the only way to do it was to comb perm solution through your hair.Do they do something different now?? I've often fancied straight hair - but mine is so ridiculously curly I don't know if it would work ....
  17. I'm just learning myself how difficult and fraught dealing with other people feeding your child can be. My son was dx last week and although not a toddler (he's 14 yrs old) he has learning difficulties and so doesn't understand what he can and cannot have. I thought (as my hubby has been G.F for 2 yrs) that it'd really easy, but I'm just beginning...
  18. The pneumococcal vaccine can be recommended for coeliacs as they may suffer from spleen problems Open Original Shared Link
  19. It's coming back to haunt you already! ..you must curb these impulses!
  20. So I went in to my son's school today to speak to his class teacher about his diagnosis of celiac disease (on Fri) I wanted to impress upon her how serious this diet is-how important it is he stays G.F. I did lay it on a bit though - I think I scared her!! I explained what celiac disease is ( immune response, flattened villi, malabsorption etc...
  21. It is a mystery indeed. Hubby fell off the wagon earlier on in his gluten-free diet (toasted cheese sandwich ) with no reaction at all.(he was in denial!) During our trip to Spain this summer he picked off some croutons an ill advised chef served up on his dinner. He woke up with crippling stomach gripes at 4am running to the loo!! It is...
  22. I don't think that there would be anywhere else to get gluten free foods from other than the ones you've mentioned.(especially as you are on a such a small isle) Once you join Coeliac UK you will receive a book-listing all main brand foods that are ok to eat-so it's worth joining for the book! Here's a link to CUK Open Original Shared Link you can...
  23. Sandy -you are not on your own!! I think that most husbands plead ignorance when it comes to running the house/childcare. With my hubby it's not that he can't do it....it's just that it's not up to my standard!!! ...and we women are just so good at it-born to do it if you like! I had a flu bug last weekend-needed 2 days in bed - but man...
  24. A ha!!! So that's how to get your hubby to help out with chores !!!
