  1. Thanks for the hugs across the Atlantic Karen!!!! I just want it done and dusted-diagnosis given and get him on the diet I know it's a relatively simple procedure (and what with him having had heart surgery twice, this should be a walk in the park in comparison!) But,-it's all relative.I'm a Mum,and it's my job to worry!! Hope you and your...
  2. Those of you that have seen my posts before will know that my 13yr old son had a 'high positive 'result on his tTg blood test, and we've been waiting for an appt for biopsy. I've just had a GI ring me( who works in a hospital the other side of London) to say that he's had a cancellation and can do my son's biopsies on Fri morning.(It seems my son's paediatrician...
  3. LOL!Mmmm, maybe he thinks you are a 'yummy mummy' .....Ah,the good ole days. When I was at school we didn't even have a home phone-I had to actually walk to a telephone box(pay phone)!! Imagine that!!(Oh,and we had to get up to turn the tv channel over-no remote ) I feel like a dinosaur now!! (To use one of Cecile's trademark...

  6. I love the way you two(Carla & Morgan) communicate through this board!!! Maybe I should get on MSN Messenger so I could have the odd conversation with my 17 yr old son!! 7. Now you're talking!! Although hubby is the coeliac,I'm G.F too as my skin doesn't like gluten (eczema) I walked past a fish and chip shop the other day-and it smelt sooo good!(whilst muttering under my breath 'must resist' as a mantra!) Seriously though, although hubby has a definitive diagnosis (biopsy)he sometimes talks about cheating. We have...
  8. (Again!)My husbands was very similar.(Deb,I think our hubby's are very similar!!) I think the PN was creeping up on him just before his dx of celiac disease, but it became really noticable after him going G.F. Burning soles of the feet, numbness and tingling of lower legs,a staggering gait(gluten ataxia?) After my husband had a repeat small bowel biopsy...

  11. OOO new toy Patti?!!! I have never had a washer/dryer combined,I've got 2 separates, but I haven't really got the room Hubby always says there's more to go wrong on a washer/dryer combined-so I've never got one. I have however recently bought a new oven !!(I'm so excited,LOL! -how sad is that?!!) It's all sparklingly clean and I'm vowing to keep...
  12. Patti-that's so funny ,I can just see Allo wolfing it down!! It's also better for you that he's G.F as you handle his food. I've tinkered with my cats food on and off over the years, and I've found that they always seem to like the 'dearer' foods (they are such snobs).Science Diet or Iams always seems to go down well! I think it's because the...
  13. The same here!! In the 18 years I've been married I've never known my hubby to get a 'cold' or the 'flu'.Lots of weird symptoms before being dx with celiac disease though-but he never caught viruses, even if me and the kids all went down with something. My hubby used to say I was 'weak' because I always seem to go down with a flu virus every winter and...

  18. I don't think you can once it's been posted! I think mods can only remove a thread, but can't tinker with the 'title'. I'm sure someone else more knowledgable will give you a more certain answer though!

  22. Rachel,I've been following your trials-and I'm really pleased that you've found a doctor that is actually 'listening' to you and is thinking outside the box. Although I know you don't actually want to have Lymes or Mercury Poisoning,it is important that you get to the root of your problems. I never realised that Lyme Disease symptoms were so similar...

  25. My husband was on stomach acid reducers for around 2 years before finally being dx with celiac disease. His mouth and throat used to 'burn' so much he found it hard to swallow and just before his dx lost his voice for 6 weeks. He has no reflux/gerd whatever it was now-no drugs needed (they never seemed to help anyway) BTW-My son has just had positive...
