nikki-uk replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Ha ha Nothing like a reality check from your Mum!!! Seroiusly humid here in London, although it's rained it's sooo sticky and I hate feeling 'sweaty'. I hate it when your top sticks to your back -eugh. P.S Ladies don't sweat, they perspire Guess we'll have to have designated areas with and without air con to meet everyones needs in R-ville... -
Gotta say my husband was much like you-he didn't really have alot of time for people who were 'invisibly' ill. Every year when I got the flu,or a stomach bug or whatever he used to say 'your so weak'-half jokingly but not if you know what I mean. Then over a 5 year period he got sicker, and sicker-had to give up work, couldn't get out of bed, couldn't stay...

Aren't we all dahling ,(well maybe not Vincent, but he has got longhair though) Yeah, you just rub a little in your palm and then run your hands through the mid lengths and ends. Mind you Carla's tip of coconut oil would probably work just as well, just go easy on how much you use. -

Uh-Oh,Celia,I better take my latex gloves off while I'm doing your hair, Better not offer you any Bananas either apparently But it's ok-feel free with any allergy/intolerance here in R-Ville -
My husband was recently dx with Osteoporosis too. He now has to take Actonel once a week now(very similar to Fosomax) He's only just started taking these, but his doc did recommend weight bearing excercise. I think you've already had good advise, and keep eating those dark green vegetables

No problem-I'm getting my foils out as we speak! I'll have you sorted in no time-would you like a coffee/drink while you wait? Patti, Can you get John Freida products over there? Frizz Ease serum-fantastic stuff. It says to put it on wet hair, but I find it works better once your hair is dry,and you only need a little bit else you'll end... -
Ah Bananas-the coeliacs friend (if you're not allergic!) Look at this handy little gadget I was going to buy for my hubbie-stops it getting sqaushed up in your bag!! Open Original Shared Link

Okay, although I'm not a regular poster on this thread I'm a regular reader! LOL A similar analogy (although nothing to do with coeliac) My middle son has Downs Syndrome. The amount of people who have said to me ''Oh he's only got it a bit!'' ( er no,he's got it.....) Gotta laugh!! -
If this is an ongoing thing-have you considered that it might be depression? My hubbie had been G.F a year when depression hit him big time last year and alot of his symptoms were anger, moodiness, sulleness, refusal to participate and communicate with me-oh and not sleeping-just a thought.

This was posted on the U.K board I use-I thought it might be of some use to those of you with continuing symptoms of bloating and D.Apparently this can overlap with coeliac disease. Open Original Shared Link

ARCHIVED Celiac/exzema - Any Connection?
nikki-uk replied to Debbie65's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
When my husband was dx with celiac disease I thought I'd try and go G.F with him to support him,and just make life easier. At the same time I was really struggling to contain my lifelong complaint of eczema. The steroid creams weren't making any difference any more (I thought it had got worse because of all the stress surrounding my hubbie being so... -

ARCHIVED Muscle Pain
nikki-uk replied to chgomom's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Although muscle and bone pain can be typical with celiac disease (are you G.F yet?)the fact that you mention your eyes are dry made me take notice. Dry eyes and mouth can be a symptom of an autoimmune disease called Sjogrens disease. I would go back to the rheumatologist and mention this. As you have celiac disease you are more prone to other auto... -

Ooops,I think we posted at the same time! Yes,I agree that the support groups are invaluble to some, but I think the most useful info I have gained is through a message board I use in UK (and this one.) To end with a positive note for CUK, Recently North Lincs PCT recommended their G.P's stopped giving out food prescriptions for coeliacs (to help recoup...
