ARCHIVED The New Celiac Drug Is Out There
IrishHeart replied to gatita's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
yes, agreed. I was not very clear in my explanation, sorry. I took them before I ate out...."just in case". (as the fellow celiac who uses them suggested) but I doubt they really did much. Others say they take them "after" but I am not sure how this would work. -

				ARCHIVED Gluten Cutter: Digestive Aid?
IrishHeart replied to powerofpositivethinking's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I just answered you on that thread! (you're killin' me, kiddo...this qualifies for double duty pay) As well you should be skeptical. It's not a magic pill. Digestive enzymes are just that...enzymes. They do not cure celiac.. They do not "wipe out" the gluten. They will not protect you from damage and they will not protect you from feeling... -
There are many of us on here who can tell you they are well and healing. Some of us came back from the "walking dead" even. Hang in there. Time and patience. These two things are essential.

As well you should be. It's not a magic pill. Digestive enzymes are just that...enzymes. They do not cure celiac.. They do not "wipe out" the gluten. They will not protect you from damage and they will not protect you from feeling like crap. Some people say they can take these special enzymes after an accidental glutening and their symptoms are... -

IrishHeart replied to anti-soprano's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Yeah, I am not a big fan of Bactrim or cipro (always have bad side effects from them) but they are necessary "evils" at times, when warranted. but I will say that high dosing the probtioics for a few days ( and I mean high--like 5 doses of multi-strain ) I righted the ship, so to speak. I do hope you feel better soon. I know how "yucky" this can be.- 7 replies

IrishHeart replied to gatita's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I am afraid that happened a long time ago. sigh. People take the word of various bloggers, charlatans, websites and hack writers ....without doing a single bit of research. I can tell you this: my journalism students wouldn't have gotten away with some of this malarkey. I mean, where are the citations? the name of the drug and the manufacturer? who's... -

IrishHeart replied to love2travel's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Oh, how I miss you, dear Neroli. Spring is here in NY and the irises are open and the wet weather has created a plethora of mushrooms in the green grass --like little villages ---and I said to J yesterday, Look! Shroom is saying hello. sigh -

As I have a major problem with antibiotics of any kind, I share your frustration. I have a few thoughts,IMHO and FWIW. (1)To balance your system after rounds of antibiotics, you need probiotics. . (2) To avoid future UTIs, you can drink cranberry juice daily and a lot of water. Hydration is important. My Mom had them often and I suggested she...- 7 replies

				ARCHIVED Celiac And Pancreas Issues
IrishHeart replied to Lisa79's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Reflexologists cannot "diagnose" pancreatic issues from bumps on your feet. and " an irIdologist" is not a diagnostician or a medical professional in any sense of the word. Quackery. I fear you are placing your trust in charlatans, sorry. IMHO Ask your medical doctor --a GI, preferably---to run an appropriate test for pancreatic insufficiency...
