I hate crowds and noisy film watchers too. Because I taught a course called "Themes in American Film" for a few years, i liked to go watch all different film genres and I used to go to this funky little theater called the Spectrum n Albany and at 3:30 PM, they had a matinee and I could sit and watch movies ALL BY MYSELF!! No one was there. Got my absurdly...

ARCHIVED I Need A Safe Rice. Reacting To Lundberg Time, And Time Again.
IrishHeart replied to CNV2855's topic in Super Sensitive People
I agree, You are not eating much at all, hon. You need more variety and sustenance. I would feel pretty punk eating just potatoes and butter. and I have never had a reaction to Lundberg rice and I'm a pretty sensitive sort. -

				ARCHIVED Developed Dairy Intolerance?
IrishHeart replied to EmiPark210's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
It may not be that you are forming new intolerances, but that your gut is still raw and those foods are tough to digest. Did you try digestive enzymes? Many celiacs have a secondary dairy intolerance as a result of villous atrophy. Lactase is produced in the tips of the villi, so when your gut lining heals and the vill grow back, you should have no... -

ARCHIVED Read This If You Could Use A Chuckle :)
IrishHeart replied to NotMollyRingwald's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
got this today in an email. Maybe it isn't a celiac thing after all. maybe it's just us. A.A.A.D.D.- KNOW THE SYMPTOMS! Thank goodness there's a name for this disorder. Age-Activated Attention Deficit Disorder. This... -

				ARCHIVED Support Forum Is It?
IrishHeart replied to Ksee's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
No worries, Colleen---I would not call it a highjack at all! Instead, I think it is a perfect example of how we gab with each other often about our various health issues, our day- to -day activities and the occasional geese encounters, too. The golf community I told you about (that we are moving to) has these elegant sand cranes with fuzzy little babes... -

ARCHIVED Got Glutened. Hoping For Some Insight.
IrishHeart replied to ButtercupSarah's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Not to go too far off topic here, but having the Ice located right under the beer taps is poor planning. Those things leak constantly. (I know, my shoes stuck to the floor often enough while tending bar) Drainage and spills alone would suggest the ice NOT be placed under there, but also, ice must be open for bartenders to scoop for mixed beverages. Having... -

				ARCHIVED Gluten And Ankylosing Spondylitis
IrishHeart replied to Deaminated Marcus's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Genetic testing cannot be altered by gluten or anything else.. If you have the HLAB27 gene, then it should have shown whenever you were tested. -

				ARCHIVED Multi-Vitamin Suggestions?
IrishHeart replied to mommyof4's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have been really happy with all the Country Life G F vitamins (mutli, C, D, etc.) mostly because they work well and do not give me any stomach upset like some multis can. P.S. I have read all the info about wheat grass, but I avoid it anyway. FWIW -

Well, you got THAT from me. I have always played in the yard barefoot. And I have the bee stings to prove it. What can I say? I hate shoes. (not a girlie thing to say, I know) Going back to the gym today (although lugging things up the stairs for 5 hours and hurling them over my head into the dumpster sure seemed as if I were at the gym the last... -

Oh I watched the TV series sometimes (I know who everyone is and all) and I am a "nerd wannabe" married to a supercool nerd, but I have never seen the MOVIES. Will you guys come and watch them with me? I'll make the popcorn or whatevs...

or from me... I can tolerate the sun without overheating, rashes and bumps. Maybe it is one symptom I "escaped"? ( that would be a first, since I have everything else on celiac, food intolerance and HIT symptoms lists.) -
I heard it the way you wrote it, Barty! and I sang it and giggled too!! While I am not as excited as you guys are as I am not a huge Trekkie (I know, I know, what can I say? I have diverse tastes and that one took a back seat, sorry?) I can BE excited FOR you and say "ENJOY!!!" (maybe someday when I can sit and relax, I will watch a few)

				ARCHIVED Support Forum Is It?
IrishHeart replied to Ksee's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Not being flip here, but good luck with that concept. It would seem like it would work, but that is not the case. There will always be people who are negative and angry,(on here and in life) and trust me on this one, no amount of cajoling, or the blowing of eternal sunshine up their skirts will change someone's personality. People are, well, human... -

				ARCHIVED Support Forum Is It?
IrishHeart replied to Ksee's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I've been a member of the forum over 2 years and IMHO, the majority of the regulars are generous, compassionate, and funny people. Like all microcosms of society, the forum has a mixed bag of personalities and often, they may clash. It is unfortunate that in the short time you have been with us, you have a negative opinion of us. Sorry this has happened... -

IrishHeart replied to UnhappyCoeliac's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
And my husband has also made bread for us when I was so ill I could barely walk or think. That's not molly-coddling, that's compassion. And anyway, the snarky comment that was made is irrelevant to the discussion which, in my opinion, has been derailed. Karen has posted a thread to help people "stock up" on emergency food.Let's channel this... -

MW I know how much this means to you that your Mum is going to do this for her health...and so, I am just over-the-moon for you right now. Dinner will be pork roast with roasted veggies as we continue our cleaning out. Gonna be scarce on here for a day or so, -

				ARCHIVED Battling No Food

you keep turning this hypothetical scenario into a bigger one. She/he posed a question and I gave a reasonable answer. You may not like it. So be it. But I would never assume anything about someone's "mental health status", not my job. And you are being abusive and rude to another member with your "molly-coddling" remark...and I'd like to... -
Good question! Before a few weeks ago, i would have said "I have symptoms for weeks!" but I got "hit" accidentally recently and I have to say I was really surprised that it wasn't worse. I had a few days of symptoms, but instead of knocking me hard for a few weeks (as has happened in the past), I recovered more quickly than I thought I would (I...
