  1. LOVE LOVE LOVE my USA Pullman pan. Bette Hagman's Four Flour bread recipe grew 5 inches tall (Sylvia will testify) We're having "encores" tonight--that bison meatloaf was awesome and it made a LOT.
  2. yes..that is correct...... a real meal does have more than 3 ingredients...so we agree? I refuse to shovel- My "talents" lie elsewhere....
  3. Lovie will most def be our "chef" and we will give her whatever she needs. (I can help) Sylvia will shovel the snow (that's a given--she promised) and I can't (whine whine--my arms. my shoulders) And let us be clear...I said we call it "encores". uh un!....I never said a meal "should be less than 3 ingredients"....show me where I said that? proof...

  5. Bison meatloaf Sauteed collard greens with shallots and our perennial favorite, ba-con. Orange olive oil bread (yup, it sounds funny, but it is fabulous)
  6. They messed up; they let go of the only actor who isn't "wooden" in her delivery or overly dramatic with a constant scowl on her face and lacking in personality. Really--every one of them always looks pissed off. She balanced Danny's explosive, "I must be perpetually right" character. And for pete's sake---Bridget Moynahan---get a hairdo...
  7. I stopped watching it a few weeks ago. Just curious.....How did they "explain" Jackie's absence? The thing is, she just wants to work, but they have her tied up in a contract dispute now. The whole thing is just wrong, IMHO but more disturbing were the comments from fellow celiacs suggesting she should be able to work because "they do without any problems...
  8. .............And we have a WINNER!!!!!!! Holy crap, that's just insane, Ken. But I am not really surprised. Years ago, when I was in the hospital the night before my gall bladder surgery, they brought me HOT DOGS for supper--because of course, those are easily digested and have no fat, right? (I never do this, but sorry guys, I believe the famous...
  9. We had a good time, thanks! Saw "Wicked"--very funny and well done. Marilyn, I have not been out past midnight in YEARS. All part of my "getting back to doing normal things this year" pledge I made. and I can report, 2 days later....no glutening... I got hit back in August (stupid waiter) and had symptoms for weeks and my hair fell out...
  10. HAHAHAHAHA!!! Oh this is hysterical. My hubs gets abused by Howie constantly. He gives me hugs. Great family, aren't they? Love em to death. Fantastic!! hey, PM me next time you're going--I'll meet you there!
  11. I subscribe to Occam's razor. You know, go for the simplest explanation rather than speculate on all the possibilities. Bananas = stomach pain. No bananas = no pain. However....if you do have a gluten intolerance, it could be making your stomach feel bad and you just associate the banana as the trigger. I had all awful stomach pain pre-diagnosis...
  12. See, I told ya it would work..... if you posted it here,Sora ... and holy kitty cats, Batman! The Peeps and Milo aw...so loving and...look, he's smiling:) This is a love fest. 13. Yes ---and I am there quite a bit. The owners, Sherry Lynn and Howie Birch, are like my family now. Incredible people. She has celiac and since her DX , she has dedicated herself to helping others. Strictly gluten free restaurant and bakery called Sherry Lynn's in Latham, NY. I drive an hour and half round trip, but who cares? Totally worth it...
  14. I see nothing wrong with this pony obsession, but I am obsessed with bunnies, so what do I know?. Loving this head banging pony....I feel like this often Last night at dinner. A basket of bread is brought to the table by the "bread guy" (this seems to be his only job) , despite the fact the server for our table has just my "gluten-free order...
  15. And then there's the person I know who can just pluck those croutons off the salad and VOILA! no more worries, mate!
  16. Like Takala, I have so many I could tell you, but let's start with this most recent one: My friend Jim told me yesterday that he ate at a chain restaurant (that begins with an A) that offers a gluten-free menu. He ordered the gluten-free burger ----as he has many times. When it came out, he thought the roll did not look like the gluten-free roll they...
  17. Please do not resort to gluten to try and solve your constipation problem. You can try this: 16 oz glass of water with a tablespoon of ground flax seed in it. Stir it up and drink it down. 2 times a day for a week..And drink more water throughout the day. Worked like a charm for me and a few other people I know--even when laxatives did...
  18. Beautifully said, Shroom and I echo your thoughts and suggestions. Nothing in writing ever terrifies me (unless it is full of spelling and grammar errors because that's scary!) but there are some wild and unsubstantiated theories out there on the internet. I am always a bit skeptical and weigh the evidence and check the source references. Then...
  19. TrapperJohn is correct.... nope, not at all hon.....BJ was the obvious thought. and I liked him more that trapper anyway.

I know who WILL know though....I will email her We're having pork loin applesauce Della cotta squash and coconut orange ice cream --I made it from the book Paleo Indulgences... and it tastes YUMMY...
  22. I have a one of those guys, too Yeah, the moody stuff will level off in time. You are still taking all this in and processing it. IMHO, do not try to buy too many gluten-free products. Take it easy on those. You are doing what we all did...rushing to replace everything because of fear there will not be enough to eat or we will be deprived. ...
