  1. Yes,sir! Some of us take NO meds/prescription vitamin supplementation anymore because our absorption significantly improved and those issues we had been "treating" have resolved. You are wise to follow up with the doc--- as the last thing you want is to be overly-medicated. Here's what's OUT of my prescription line-up!!--- 4 GERD and "IBS...
  2. here, here!! I couldn't possibly agree more, Shroomie!! and, frankly, I eat better now than I ever have in my life. (she said as she scarfed down a homemade pumpkin muffin.... )
  3. Well said, Pirate!! Happy Holidays to you!! Cheers, IH
  4. C'mon now, Momma...what have we discussed so much the past 10 days?? That's right. It's a steady, slow road. Listen to my friend GEMINI here--she speaks the truth. She was/is my mentor from day 1--when I had symptoms galore and still felt wonky after MONTHS. She told me be patient. Does J always eat shirmp, hon? Could have been spicy, could...
  5. no, she's 3 ...I just say kitty.
  6. Well, because it came right on the heels of my post, it most certainly sounded like a refutation-- and I saw it that way--as did several others. No one else's post was "remarked upon" by you. However, since you felt that I have mistaken your intention, I am sorry you felt hurt. You are not the only one who feels hurt. I am still reeling...
  7. Can't do it. She just finished a 28-day rehab stint for catnip. Bad kitty.
  8. Oh yes. Having lived with scary "Gluten Head" myself for awhile pre-DX, I can so relate. I am sure the gifts are fine---unless you purchased chia pets in bulk???
  9. Ditto. I am a no-mall girl. The UPS guy and I are on a first- name basis. In fact, Eddie was just here. If it can be purchased online, that's the perfect gift.
  10. Sounds delicious (drool, drool ) and it was very gracious of your hostess to serve gluten-free goodies to you! There are many on here who would say "but she made them in her non-gluten-free kitchen!!" and worry about the CC factor (and perhaps rightfully so--as it can be a problem--& I've run into myself ) HOWEVER-- your experience tells...
  11. thank you, JESTGAR. Yes, that IS how I interpreted her remarks about my post and if I am wrong, DilletanteSteph should tell me. The written word is often open to misinterpretation.
  12. I am sorry you are heartbroken. I am feeling just as bad about being misinterpreted and/or having my experiences in this--and other threads regarding super sensitivity--invalidated. I have not seen the posts that you mention, so I cannot comment fairly on them. I can only address what I have said here. I think I DO understand where they are...
  13. Regarding this young man's responsibilities for himself--Well said, DA!!
  14. Sorry, but I never said those words. I never even implied them. Please do not put words in my mouth. I have never openly attacked anyone --in fact, I try to temper remarks of those who are critical because I feel bad when anyone is not treated kindly --and I certainly have never said a word to you about anything regarding the topic of super sensitivity...
  15. I think GEMINI has made several excellent suggestions for the OP to consider as he figures out what's going on with his son. Hopefully, Dad will report back to us soon and let us know what he discovers.
  16. Well, you can use all the inflammatory phrases you wish to make my post seem more offensive than it was intended (shocked, uncomfortable, attack, intimidating) ---but my words were not used as an attack. It was a defense. You readily admit that you see why I felt attacked and have the right to respond, however-- you do not allow me the right to respond...
  17. My deepest sympathy on your loss, Marilyn. The hardest thing we ever have to do is let them go. I am crying just picturing you doing this because I had to do this myself on more than one occasion and it heart- wrenching. Someone sent this to me after our beloved Gracie had to be put to sleep. I wish I knew who wrote it as I have been unable to find the...
  18. Like Cooper, my Gracie always preferred what her humans were eating over what was in her bowl. Then again, this is the rocket scientist labrador who also ate rocks, firewood, a picture frame and the occasional snuggle dryer sheet....
  19. I could not possibly add anything more to GEMINI's wise response, because it is exactly the way I look at this whole thing, except this: With all due respect, I am not going to argue about "who is more sensitive" with you. You do not live in my shoes. You don't know anything about me. But you often contradict things I say when I try to post in this section...
  20. "If you change a tradition", then, in essence-- it is no longer a "tradition". While she already KNOWS what she did wrong--i.e. eat the bread and get sick because she ASSUMED it was gluten-free --BASED on what her Dad said--she has ALREADY learned her mistake. She merely asked "Am I over-reacting?" She didn't ask for lessons on negotiating a gluten...
  21. but, she may have been dining with others who have no gluten issues. Why else would it have been on the table?? I personally do not dictate to other diners at my table what they cannot have. That's not fair to them. OP?? is that the case??
  22. I use Culturelle upon the advice of my GI doc. (I was using Custom Probiotics with success). He thought the additional strain of lacto GG was useful and it is backed by studies at Tufts University. Probiotics should cause you no harm whatsoever, but you can start slowly and work your way up as the previous poster suggests--if your tum feels a bit wonky...
  23. This thread is several years old and the poster you are replying to may not see your response. Just so you know!
  24. Your dog is a beauty!!! Our cat came to us as a neglected stray---her coat was a mess, she was starving and her eyes drippy, etc. She eats a grain free cat food by Merrick called BG--Before Grains and her coat is gorgeous, she gained 3 lbs. and is as healthy as can be. I believe they make dog food as well.
  25. Welcome and yes, time for an upgrade to a posh car. However my hubs has a beard and I kind of like the look... . As for the nuero symptoms, well, I can relate. Those were both frightening and debilitating at times, and I was starting to fear for my sanity when it was pretty bad, but the good news is...THEY DISAPPEARED. Do not get alarmed by...
