  1. No comment. Honestly, if your gluten-challenge is making you feel this out of sorts, maybe you want to cut back on posting for awhile ?? (as you have already apologized in two threads about your "gluten-induced" overly sensitive nature right now.) I UNDERSTAND!! --and I am not being critical here---as I HAD the same Neuro issues and I was anxious...
  2. P.S. Listen to GEMINI-- I know her well & her journey was similar to mine and she is very celiac-savvy and she has researched her brains out, as I have----and she is healthy now ---after many years gluten-free. She and I both were jerked around by the AMA and we saved our own lives.
  3. here is what I meant: Jordan is in discomfort 30 minutes after eating a Leggo's waffle and syrup. Miserable after eating gluten and 2 weeks of improvement on a gluten-free diet? then, it's a gluten issue. period. She needs to make the connection in her head. She ate gluten--she feels like sh-t. She immediately says "it's the syrup"!!! because...
  4. As I have said repeatedly to the OP, if your child is ill, that is a different story and I was in no way implying you allow them to starve. Domesticactivist you came late to this discussion that is several weeks old and you may have misinterpreted what I was talking about. Please do not take offense at my words. It was just a different view...
  5. yes, it was a minor amount of CC but with a major reaction. for me, it's not about the amount...the result is still the same. It was "my bad" --I trusted something on someone else's (naive) assurances. He felt awful about it and the offending food has been removed from a menu claiming it is gluten-free. At least, I spared the next gluten-intolerant person...
  6. It's best if you learn all you can about celiac disease now--so you can best help yourself for the rest of your healthy life! Learn about villi and digestion and autoimmunity. It may illuminate some things for you! Knowledge is power, kiddo Adapting to dairy free is not a big deal. Use coconut milk (So Delicious brand is yummy--right in...
  7. I know your children have various issues at play here and I have offered my two or three cents but at some point, I have to wonder--how much are they using food to manipulate you guys? Do you cave in because you are understandably exhausted from fighting with them about it and you want them to be happy?? It must be very tiring for you! I did this...
  8. oh yes, the cinnamon rolls...(drool) Looks like now we are ALL drooling and begging for recipes!! Miss Katrala?? pretty pleeeeeze?? I better watch it---I'm gonna get chubby again)
  9. and I have been craving toffee ever since you posted this photo...as long as you are sharing, may we have the toffee recipe as well? to parrot Reba, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze?? Thanks!
  10. Cherry Hill Park by Billy Joe Royal blast from the past...
  11. I told you my thoughts in our PM exchange. Constipation is often resolved with 2 BIG glasses of WATER every morning and a probiotic every day. Culturelle works well. Just try it, Please?? If Jordan becomes very ill and uncontrollable emotionally because of her resumption of gluten, I wonder how long you all will be able to stand if before...
  12. Oh honey ---- Spelt is wheat!!! I would avoid spelt!! But I am very happy to hear you are feeling better!!! YAAY!!! Okay, stay on the probiotics, drink lots of water and enjoy your turkey soup! Keep me posted!!
  13. Oh c'mon now. I am going to be blunt here. How can she "fake" not having smelly farts? That's impossible, hon! You yourself said she seemed less moody! Momma, you have told me she can be manipulative with her eating habits. That she displays anorexic and compulsive habits with preferred foods. That she has complained of stomach issues for years. That...
  14. When I was very ill pre-DX, I did this quite often and it was very disturbing. I felt like I was doped up or lost in space. I felt like I "lost time". It happened once when I was driving home and I actually slapped my own face a few times on the ride home to keep myself alert. (I was terrified to drive after that--for 2 years until I went gluten...
  15. this speaks volumes!! After all you guys have been through, and as miserable as poor J has been, I am delighted for you that some things are resolving already!!
  16. You and I have discussed all this ad nauseum, Momma, but just for the record, like Raven & her family, my Dad, Mom and I were all on proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) for YEARS. I cannot describe all that happened to my poor Dad without bursting into tears, so I will not recount it (he was a celiac if there ever was one, but it's too late now) ,,...
  17. Hear, hear! I'm with you, kiddo! I eat better now than I have in my whole life! ETA: While I have always been a creative cook/baker, I have had to be "more creative" sometimes since going gluten-free, but neither hubs nor I seem to mind. Do I miss the convenience of food-on-the-go packaged items? Sure. But I do NOT miss how rotten I FELT...
  18. Sweetie, I have told you already, but I will say it again--you are NOT a whackadoodle. You're a Mom fighting for her daughter. OMG--where do I start with this Endo? First of all, RAVEN said exactly what I would have said, and she's a Mom, too so her perspective is even better on this subject than mine---but I wish to add: This condescending...
  19. Sylvia and I both had to give up dairy for longer periods because we are older and took a bit longer to heal our villi. But, now we are able to eat dairy products. yaay! I highly recommend the probiotics (Culturelle DF is a good one) to everyone because celiac guts NEED them. Newly Dxed celiacs are often lactose intolerant because lactase, which...
  20. That, my wise friend, sums us all up in a nutshell. It is a bugger sometimes. Hopefully, CHILL can find a few veggies to enjoy!
  21. So glad he saw it "our" way (Geesh, the 1st one should have been enough) Welcome to the club! Enjoy your new healthy life OFF gluten! Best wishes!!
  22. In my humble opinion, a reaction is a reaction (minor or major)--- because it is not so much about the amount of gluten ingested somehow through CC, but about triggering the autoimmune response and provoking symptoms. And yes, I would think that inhaled dust from airborne gluten might very well affect you, sure why not? I had someone on here tell me...
  23. I do not know what is in Coffee mate---is this something new for you---is it something in there maybe? Did you make the gravy yourself? Just trying to help figure it out.
  24. Alice, hon, I see you are still searching for a way for it to be okay for you to eat gluten-filled foods again. The internet is full of many things, but a cure for celiac is NOT THERE. I told you, if there were a CURE, it would be FRONT PAGE NEWS and celiacs/gluten intolerants everywhere would know about it. She did a good job explaining the inflammatory...
  25. YAAY! Babs!! Knowing your extra difficulty finding what you need over there, I am so happy to hear you had such a wonderful dinner! hugs, IH P.S. My system is a bit wonky too, but only because I ate (and drank )up a storm (oink) for the first time in years...You'll be okay!!
