  1. DITTO for me, Firefairy! I have wicked TMJ pain and I associate it with stress and tension trying to get a proper diagnosis for so long. ARRGH!! Trigger points in muscles can also be associated with nutritional and vitamin deficiencies (due to malabsorption) like B-12 and folate (B9) In any case, I did not have it until I got really sick...
  2. Here is the bottom line. Celiac disease is NOT a fad and it is not something you "dabble in". It is an autoimmune disease, not an allergy. Untreated... (meaning you choose not to eliminate gluten)..it will bring you more illness and pain, possibly cancer. It will kill you. If you are given a chance to live the remainder of your life in better health...
  3. Oh no! hope you get your power back soon and that things calm down. Emergency kit is a great idea!
  4. Kiddo, I am not sure about how much bread to eat and for how long for your testing....definitely post that to the forum "Pre-Diagnosis and testing" so someone with experience with that can tell you!! I refuse to eat gluten again for testing. My doctor bungled the blood test and the stupid GI doc did an endoscopy without biopsying anything!! They lost...
  5. ....tastes like butt...hehehehe
  6. hey, mine does too! Maybe we should just eat THEIR food
  7. ah chill, we are a pair...!!
  8. um....I might have to choose the cat poo over the soy at this point....
  9. thanks a bunch, Lisa!!
  10. Then, you should avoid it and see how you feel. I know how I feel is my best barometer of what I will continue to put in my mouth! Better than resorting to cat poo...
  11. I am not saying you will always react to soy and I am not suggesting you never eat it again--please don't get me wrong. I am saying that I cannot eat it, I tested "severe" for antibodies to it and from what I have learned about soy, it is not a good food--as it is processed in foods -- in THIS country at least. I wish I could recall the site where I read...
  12. Oh, but Newbie, you can have pancakes again--you just have use different flours, that's all! I promise you, it's going to be okay!! Of course you are filled with apprehension and feel overwhelmed. WE ALL DID...some still do! Your depression--is part of this disease!!! It's listed as one of the top symptoms. We all TALK about IT on here!! Not taboo...
  13. Ditto on eliminating the dairy and soy. I had (and still do --to some extent) all those symptoms you describe, too--and if I accidentally get glutened or soyed now--I feel those same feelings. Spacey, scary I know...it DOES clear up, though. If you are newly gluten-free, dairy should be eliminated at first because..."Lactase, which is the enzyme...
  14. Thanks! I needed to talk.... blessings and hugs!

  15. That is a good outlet!! --It is good your muscle mass was not affected by the disease. I LIVE for the day I can work out again and swim. I am in so much pain right now and filled with knotty trigger points and restricted movement....I am hoping more months on the diet will help out my massive lost muscle mass and tone. (I dropped 90 lbs., rapidly with this...
  16. Welcome!! This forum is amazing and these people have been a major source of help and encouragement for me. You're in the right place! I am so sorry for your long struggle to get diagnosed properly. I can relate. Many of us went for YEARS-- as you did--trying to figure out what was going wrong inside us. And yes, you are NOT crazy, hon--although at...
  17. DITTO on the weeping, rage, irritability, feeling "overwhelmed", frightened and anxious, agitated ...it's pretty weird... and before I KNEW what was causing it, I was pretty worried I was going mad --as these things are NOT my usual personality. I found even the neighbor's dog barking made me pissed off!! I kept trying to figure out what the hell was going...
  18. I am happy if I help you in any way. I have been researching for over 3 years to figure out my health problems (you would not believe what happened to me and how sick I got and how many doctors I saw and how much money we spent on NO HELP WHATSOEVER--until I figured it out and went back to my PC doctor...) Fortunately, I have a cousin-in-law who has celiac...
  19. LOL LOL I should have just asked you right away, ms. meatie.....I'll see what the website says. They guarantee their gluten free stuff--did you read the story about their friend who is gluten-free and so, they set up the special section in the facility just for the GFreers?? Gotta love it. And their nuts and dried fruits are awesome! Limiting intake for...
  20. Didn't mean to sound like such a soy-hater I liked soy milk too! but I read a LOT about soy when I was tested for other food antibodies and found I had a SEVERE reaction to it. There are reports of it affecting everything from estrogen levels--including early puberty in girls--to causing depression and memory loss. It's not the fermented kind...
  21. I hear your frustration and you should know I said I would eat rocks if it would make me feel better! SOY is a bad boy!!! It causes so many on here so many issues: nerve pain, anxiety, stomach distress. Me, included. It is a mood disruptor--acts on the estrogen in your body. Soy is bad. Dump the soy. No soybean oil, no soy lecithin. ...
  22. Hi guys! I am looking for stone ground grits. Not instant Quaker stuff. From a mill that only grinds corn. I have googled my face off and cannot find one that doesn't also grind wheat can Anyone help? thanks a million!!!!
  23. Fat in red meat is difficult to digest. The GI Tract is so inflamed and fried steak is tough to process. Oh, hon...brussel sprouts are REALLY fibrous and cause major gas!!! You may want to choose easier to digest veggies: plain potato, sweet potato, maybe? Digestive enzymes should be taken BEFORE your meals. Probiotics shouldn't cause you stomach...
  24. Anemia---iron deficiency, B-12 deficiency or Folate (B9) deficiency--can all cause neuropathy. Since it is quite common amongst us, it is wise to have all those checked. All are remedied by certain foods and/or supplementation if necessary. Hope you find the reason!! It's maddening , isn't it?? I burn and tingle and go numb everywhere---like crazy...
