  1. My son also has celiac disease, besides me. He has been on the diet for a year and half and hasn't had any follow-up. HE is still small for his age, but my other kids aren't that big and he seems healthy and happy. I too have celiac disease though and I am struggling. OUr house isn't gluten free and I cook gluten foods for my other two kids and husband...
  2. Yes, celiac disease can cause bone pain for sure. My suggestion would be to have a follow-up endoscopy and see how he has healed. Also he should have his celiac panel redrawn to see of he could be getting gluten in his diet somehow. He could be getting it somewhere maybe. Is your house gluten free? Do you call every company before he eats a food? What is...
  3. Thanks guys, I am starting the prep this afternoon and it is nice to know that other's have survived. Yes, they are sedating me for it. I wish I was scheduled in the morning. Two days without eating isn't going to be fun. I haven't been eating and just drinking ensure. I definitely think I have a different relationship with food. I have never eaten meat...
  4. Ok, so I have been gluten free for about 18 months. Went to a new doctor, because I moved and I have been really suffering for a year at least. I can't keep from getting sick for more then a few days. THe last month has been miserable. I have lost another 8 lbs. I have gotten to the point of being unable to eat hardly anything and am terrified of food making...
  5. THere is usually Senna in them and this is a stimulant. I was always worried about my body being addicted to a stimulant to go to the bathroom after the cleanse was over. I think alot of them are scams and you could buy one at the health food store for cheaper, if you were going to do it. MOnica
  6. I had this while pregnant and nursing with my first son 7 years ago. It was very annoying. I would describe it as a choked up feeling like you get when you are going to cry or something like that. I thought mine was hormonal or my thyroid was swollen. THat is what it felt like. I thankfully haven't had it since. I don't think mine was related to GERD, but...
  7. I have been wondering how you were doing. I am glad you finally got a diagnoses. Just out of curiousity, what were your symptoms? Did you have bad D? I am going through a very rough time right now and going to the GI tomorrow. I am hoping to find some answers, but not looking foreward to the colonoscopy and endoscopy. I am such a chicken. Take...
  8. I eat this stuff all the time, but continue to be sickened from somewhere. Now I am wondering the very same thing. If I remember correctly there were some people that posted they got sick from Pamela's. I am hoping some more people reply to this. Monica
  9. Thanks for posting this recipe. I am going to try them. MOnica
  10. I eat Green Mountain Gringo chips and they say gluten free. THey are healthy and taste good to me. I get them at the health food store. MOnica
  11. Tanya, SOunds like Megan is doing so awesome! I am sure it gives you some relieve. Your faith is amazing and inspiring. May God continue to work in Megan's life and your little family! Hope your dad is doing better. Sincerely, Monica
  12. I have the same problem. If I am gluttened, I have the same problem. The only thing that helps some is to take Citrucel. Fiber doesn't do any good and makes my stomach hurt. Try citrucel twice a day and make sure you are gluten free. You become more sensitive the longer you are gluten free. AT least that was the case for me. Monica
  13. Doesn't that just make you mad!!! I am moving to the wheat free planet!!! I hope you don't get sick, but maybe they don't know what they are talking about. I could understand flavored coffee, but not plain. Monica
  14. LIke other's have said, it isn't hard to resist when you get nausea, cramping reflux and feel like vomiting. No thankyou. IN fact I am terrified of ever having gluten again, after my experience last week from being gluttened at Chipotle's. I wanted to go to the ER and wished I could die. Finally I am feeling better again today. A few painful miserable...
  15. I love their english muffins! I eat them with soft boiled eggs all the time. They are my favorite thing that they make. Monica
  16. My son had already been through so much testing, I was quite tired of testing and they also wanted to do a colonoscopy too. I couldn't do it. The diet changed him so much , there is NO question that he has celiac disease to us. But it is up to you. If you are going to doubt that he has it and your doctor isn't going to be supportive, then maybe you should...
  17. Thanks Richard, no they didn't use new gloves. I rarely eat out ever, but risked it. With all the flour tortillas, it does seem a bit risky. Other's here seem to do ok, so I always think it is just me. It will definitely be awhile before I eat there again. Monica
  18. I am sorry you are so sick. It is miserable, but you have to tell yourself it will get better. It has too! I hope it is sooner rather then later. I know there are other's on here that eat a very basic diet gluten free. Just veges, bananas, potatoes, beans and meat. That is what I have been doing lately and yes it isn't fun to have to eat this way when...
  19. Does anyone know if these are gluten free. I read somewhere that peppermint patties were gluten free and didn't even think about the mini one's. I have a pretty bad gluttening the past few days and was wondering if these could be the culprit. I also ate at Chipotle's and the reaction started about 24 hours later. I have been awake for two nights at least...
  20. I got on here this morning, because my family went hiking without me. I feel like a hermit, because I am always sick and now I am afraid to leave my house. I have been gluten free for 18 months and can't go more then a month without being sick. A month is actually great. I am vegetarian, have tried giving up dairy, gave up caffeine and processed foods and...
  21. Stef, I deal with this almost same thing. I feel as if my food doesn't digest, nausea and my heart racing. You may want to look into reflux? I was having it and I am doing better. I do take digestive enzymes. Also pepto-bismol if it is real bad. I find I have this after being gluttened alot. Also dramamine helps me with nausea. Are you on any drugs?...

    ARCHIVED Mcdonalds Uggh

Funny you posted this today. I wasn't going to eat their french fries, but I got them for my kids and supposedly they are safe. I started eating them, because it was lunch time, and ate more then I was going too. I was SO sick lastnight and today. Horrible Gerd lastnight and this morning, D this morning and feel gross. Now I am still scared to eat, because...
  23. I have been having a somewhat similar experience. I am scared to eat, because I feel yucky so much of the time. I am scared to go in the car or to other's homes, because I have the bathroom urgency. I absolutely HATE it. I feel like it is controls my life. I haven't been to church in three weeks, don't want to travel for holidays and don't ever want to eat...
  24. My GI doctor told me that people that have IBS, will be helped by a gluten free diet. Even without having celiac disease. I don't think that gluten is that good for people that don't have celiac disease. It is highly processed and unless you are eating spelt bread, then it is pretty much not good for you. I think in children, tests can definitely be negative...
  25. Definitely get the testing. (I didn't read all this) My 3rd son is the one with celiac disease. I thought both my other one's at different times could have celiac disease, because of the way they were behaving (dropped on the growth chart), strange stools, etc. Well, I had them both tested and the tests were negative. They continue to eat gluten and be fine...
